My city...I was born there, spent my childhood in Greenock, then studied at the Glasgow School of Art in the Mackintosh Building before it burned down. When I lived in Glasgow as a student I used to go to the Art Gallery and have coffee at the weekend when I was a bit lonely in my student flat. All the museums in Glasgow are free, by the way. He could have made this video just for me. I wish he had seen the shipyards in all their glory. I live in the Scottish Borders now but there is no place like Glasgow. I loved every minute of this video - thank you for bringing back so many happy memories!
I was raised in Glasgow and hung out at the museum all the time. We learned more from the curators than you would ever learn in school.Thank you for making me homesick. ☺️☺️
Glasgow is my home city. Spent much of my childhood with my siblings exploring the city and on cold or wet days, Kelvin grove museum kept us entertained and sheltered until it was time to return home for dinner and bed.
Unfortunately not. The strikes going on here in the UK and the after effect of COVID have ruined our train service. I used to get one train from Durham to Southampton direct. Now it's at least 2 changes! Once you've booked you're never quite sure it's going to run. 😔
Hi Richard, I have family in Scotland and England and what you said was true but unfortunately nowadays the train system has gone downhill quite badly but not too sure how the rest of Europe is fairing. Travelled around Europe 2019 and definitely the trains were amazing.
We enjoy the trains in the Schengen area of Europe as it’s so easy to country hop when you’d like. Riding the tube in London was anxiety-producing though. 😆
It takes a certain type of person to appreciate Dali. One time while visiting in Florida our group decided to explore the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. We began a guided tour together, but by the end I was the only one left. One by one my companions dropped out of the tour and went outside to wait in the garden. We still laugh about it. Glad you got to see a favorite painting in person, Tony! Your efforts are very much appreciated!
Of interest to potential visitors, that was the Transport Museum at 4:54 (also free entry) with the masts of the Tall Ship, Glenlee, poking out on the other side of the building (a Tour Bus stop). There is also a Rembrandt in the Art Galleries. 🙂
That museum is a castle! Beautiful I have yet to go to a museum without a crowd. What a joy to be able to actually take your time and appreciate the art without being jostled.
Appreciate your commitment but please be careful and take it as easy as possible. Not worth feeling miserable the rest of your trip! Thanks so much and enjoy!!
Hi Tony. Looks like this was an amazing day. You got out on your own and you were blessed by the museum and seeing Dali. Something you may not have seen had you been with everyone else. Still an impressive amount of steps considering the bus and train ride. Can hear it in your voice, you truly enjoy this experience. A memory for a lifetime ❤. Glad you feel better. As always thank you for all you do.
One of the most inspirational Vids I've seen recently from a fellow "Rotund" fan. Love you didn't let negativity bring you down Brother! That painting.... Agree
Well done Tony. You spent the day as a traveller, not just a cruiser. So satisfying. Travelling is testament to our enduring need for exploration and understanding.
You looked less tired today! It’s amazing what a good nights sleep can do for you! Well I am glad you enjoyed Glasgow and you got to see all that amazing art it perks and we enjoyed you sharing it with us! So cool that you got a haircut there.
My favourite place to visit in Glasgow is the botannical gardens. Glad to see you were able to get the full use of the tour bus after sorting out the ear phones.
Tony, thanks for taking us along on your journey. In my years I have come to appreciate museums and fine art. Glad you’re feeling better, and looking fresh up top from the chair. Safe travels.
Love how you’re approaching the excursions on this cruise. Kudos for taking public transportation and solo exploring, and sharing all the details. Your very honest and straightforward style has really earned my respect.
I grew up in Glasgow, left in 1993 but as a 12 year old and older I used to catch the bus across town to look at the dinosaurs and stuffed animals and I used to stand a long time in awe at the Dali painting. I used to do this when I was bored. These days you go on RUclips.
I’m glad you went out on that tour of Glasgow. It’s a city rich in culture with beautiful architecture. It’s also my home town which I haven’t been back to for many years. I hope you have a good rest now
I started traveling independently when I was 19. I am now almost 67 and have spent time by myself in many cities around the world, with London in 2019 my last solo trip. Tony, don’t you feel a confidence boost? It is hard to put yourself out there, do it alone, make mistakes, etc., but then you have amazing adventures, broaden your life experience, and get the “I did it!” moments. So, so cool… Great job, Tony!

Thank you so much for sharing that, I felt as if I were in Glasgow again after two months. Apparently, all the hop-on hop-off buses in the UK (same happens in Belfast and London) and also in the Republic of Ireland give you a map and earbuds when you get on the bus and when there isn't a guide on it. I envy you at the Kelvingrove, as I wasn't able to visit the 1st and 2nd floor, I spent 2 hours and a half only on the ground floor, and it closed after that.😢 Anyway, I think Glasgow is a wonderful place; it is safe, and I hope I can go there again.😊
Thanks again my friend for sharing your journeys. GREAT VIDEO!!! You made my day! I loved the clip of you in the open-air double-decker bus - looked a wee bit chilly so thanks for sharing that bit and for the belly laugh. HaHaHa 😆You're the best! 💯
Tony if you ever get to Spain, there are day trips by train from Barcelona to Figueres. Go to the Dali museum. Make sure your ticket includes access to the jewel collection. Your mind will be absolutely blown!!!
So glad you went. I didn’t want to pressure you. I am living through your eyes. Scotland is my dream. I am going to be so close Sun as I head to Belfast… Thank you! Glad you weren’t sore or too tired!
What a gorgeous museum! It’s a work of art in itself! We didn’t stop in Glasgow on our cruise two weeks ago, although there were four major ports we did stop in, allowing my husband to track down his grandparent’s home, outside of Edinburgh. BEAUTIFUL country!
Wow! It’s lovely seeing my city through a strangers eyes. It’s a great place and Kelvingrove is amazing. Glad you saw the Dali as last time I was there it was out on loan! Well done you 👍
Oh how wonderful you went to Glasgow, I'm actually originally from the Greenock area and recently returned from a 5 week trip home. You showed how easy it is to find your way around Glasgow and how affordable it is to wander its streets... so glad you saw the Dali... what a moving experience. Enjoy the rest of your cruise stay safe and please don't ever change....😊😊 Michael aka Bampot.
Love that museum. All museums in Glasgow are wonderful to visit. I was born in Greenock and still have quite a bit of family in the area. If you ever return head to Largs and get an ice cream at Nardinis
Thanks for showing us the wonderful art by iconic artist's, after watching your video I shall make a point of visiting this museum when I visit Glasgow in a few months time.
Tony I have got to give you a world of credit I know it’s not easy, climbing up and down the stairs pushing yourself to the limit just to bring us great content on your videos kudos to you my man
The work you put in to making these You Tube presentations is beyond commendable. The content is always so informative and a pleasure to watch. All the best from a Glaswegian that lives in Jersey…the next island over from Guernsey.
Kelvingrove is my favourite museum. I'm Glaswegian and have spent many hours walking round it. I like to listen to some classical music while admiring the paintings, it gives a deeper emotion to the experience. Christ of St John of the Cross is a different level though. Glad you enjoyed your time in my city and my country. Haste ye back.
Glad you made the effort to see Glasgow. It is such a fascinating city. Too bad you missed Loch Lomond. My grandfather, from Scotland would always sing the song to us. The highlands are magnificent if you ever get the chance to rent a car and explore the area it is well worth it. 😀
This has been one of my favorite v-tours that you've done. Loved the museum, the architecture, the paintings, the works. You showed just the right amt. And the little waving hand - goodbye to the HOHO bus. LOL. Thank you Tony. xo
Dali's crucifixion is my favourite piece of art. I can still remember seeing it for the first time when I was a bairn on my first visit to kelvingrove.
Wow, you are definitely taking one for the team. Thank you for your best of the best cruise videos. We enjoy every minute traveling with you.❤ Take care of yourself, Tony.
Watching again preparing for my BI cruise in August. I was really touched by your love of Art and Dolly. I had contemplated this hop on hop off and now I think it is a sure thing. Thanks for the awesome insight and tour.
Thank you for sharing your experience in Glasgow. My husband and I visited Glasgow regularly before Covid-19 and you have given us ideas of places to visit using the hop on hop off bus rather than just walking around.
Tony, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. So happy you are ok. You are truly dedicated and we are grateful. Continue to have a great trip.
Ah Tony, my favourite painting, luckily I live not too far away and see it often… my husband proposed in George Square many years ago! Glad you enjoyed your time in Glasgow and the sun was shining!☀️
Well done for getting out of your comfort zone! But Lol from all Glaswegians for you walking out to Stop 9 to wait for the bus, when Stop1, George Square, was actually closer to Central Station and a very short, pleasant walk in the other direction, along Gordon Street, Buchanan Street and St Vincent Street.
I love that museum. There was a special Egyptian mummies exhibit when we were there. So fun to see some of the same sights. Thank you for being brave Tony! I love to see you experiencing the same things as my husband and I do on our travels. We quite often take the “Hop On/Hop Off” busses and even ride them two full routes before deciding where to get off for a while. All depends on how much time you have of course!
My daughter just spent the last 2 weeks in Scotland. They loved Glasgow. They visited the museum and spent so much time there. They ended up extending their time in Glasgow.
Great video , Thanks for visiting my beloved home city , and it is fascinating to hear what our visitors think . I know every spot on the film . Haste you back ! Warm and best wishes from Scotland 🏴
Well done for pushing yourself. I'm glad you found the bus stop at Central Station, I felt it was a wee shame you had to do all the walking at the start. Someone shoild have said to you in the live show, sorry. XhugsX I don't know if you know about "Spoon Theory" (it's a way of prioritising what to do in your everday life if you have an illness/chronic condition that can limit your energy/mobility/capability). Hopefully you get a good rest when back on board. I don't know how or why your channel was recommended to me, but I'm glad it was. XhugsX I'm glad ypu saw and appreciated "up the toon" as we call it, and I think it's wonderful you discovered things dear to your heart. ❤ I live right across the water, so can see the ships coming in and out of the Greenock Terminal. Some blow their foghorn upon leaving, depending on what time it is. If your ever fortunate enough to be here at New Year, the water is filled with fireworks from ships that might be in. You passed several areas in Glasgow where I used to travel to work. It was nice seeing them through a visitor's eyes. How did you find the KFC at the "Four Corners" as it's affectionately known?
Thank you, Tony, for taking us along with you in Glasgow. The museum was wonderful and seeing the original Dali painting was a once in a lifetime experience. Such a beautiful work of art! I loved seeing all the others you filmed, Monet being one of my favorites. I went to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles some years ago and saw one of Van Gogh’s Irises paintings. It was so mesmerizing with the vibrant colors. I could have stood for hours looking at it but there was a guard standing beside it starting to get a little nervous. After all, they paid $57 million for it!
So glad you had a good day today. It was nice to see Glasgow again, been many many years since I was there (in the 1990's). Looking forward to more of your adventures.
Im still here and willing to help anytime you want. I never said its going to be easy. But i promise you will feel better in the end. Remember the key to success is water... lots of water. Hang in there my friend. Thanks for sharing with us. 👍👊
Haste ye back. 🏴🇺🇸 glad you enjoyed your time in Glasgow, Scotland. I stay 15 minutes from Glasgow by train. Take care and happy travels 🏴🇺🇸
Gorgeous! Free museum! Yes, please! What a beautiful place, that’s a city I’d love to explore. That was awesome! You did great and got a haircut! Nice!
It is always a treat to see the original artwork that yyou have seen on the printed page. Thank you for sharing your day adventure with us. Seeing the buildings is enjoyable too
Love this. Yes. You do it for us, and that is why we love you. Again, the architecture is amazing in all these vids. The train systems in Europe are one of my fav things about going there too. Loving the museum. Awesome it is free!! So happy your fav Salvador painting was in there and definitely one to ponder in reverence and silence. So many well known artists. Now, the donut stop famous or not, would be a winner stop! Thank you so much for going beyond and giving us that tour. Great example and message for us. ❤👍
Hope you enjoyed Glasgow, you probably only scratched the surface but that’s the way travelling goes. Spent many a day in the KelvinGrove art gallery but that Salvador Dali painting gets me every time.
Hello Tony Thank you for the tour of Glasgow you certainly did it for the team you looked as though you enjoyed it. Kelvin Grove is amazing they have some real treasures. Sea day tomorrow enjoy the ship love from Sydney.
Glad you went! When would you be back? Happy for you😊. Beautiful museum & it was great artwork you loved was there. Muscle soreness is hard, sometimes you don't feel better sitting around. Movement, within your limitations probably helped. What's up for tomorrow? Love the Hop On / Hop Off style buses. And the audio histories of the city is usually very good. Glad you had a nice day
The first time we visited Scotland, we found a shop where we were able to get a print of my husband's family coat of arms. We framed it after we returned home.
Now a 79-year-old female, precovid I spent a month in Italy during a three-year period traveling around the country. During those years, I visited relatively unknown (to Americans) cities and towns by train. So easy, so safe, so economical, so memorable!
Good for you Tony so proud of you. As a flight attendant i used to go to Glasgow all the time. Its a beautiful city. After watching your video id now love to go back ❤ safe journey
My city...I was born there, spent my childhood in Greenock, then studied at the Glasgow School of Art in the Mackintosh Building before it burned down. I was just thinking the same. Now I want to go hame!!
Glasgow is my home city. Spent much of my childhood with my siblings exploring the city and on cold or wet days, Kelvin grove museum kept us entertained and sheltered until it was time to return home for dinner and bed.
I am loving this series. Thank you for letting us follow along!❤ Sounds like you may need a vacation from your vacation😂
Cheers Tony,enjoyed this!
The drive from Glasgow to Ayr via Greenock and Largs,is the great journey most tourists miss!
Pretty sure most folk want to miss Greenock 😉😁
Nicely done, sir. Train system in Europe is so easy to use and clean. We in America could use their system as an example.
Unfortunately not. The strikes going on here in the UK and the after effect of COVID have ruined our train service. I used to get one train from Durham to Southampton direct. Now it's at least 2 changes! Once you've booked you're never quite sure it's going to run. 😔
Should try Korea or japan.... 2 of the best in the world
Hi Richard, I have family in Scotland and England and what you said was true but unfortunately nowadays the train system has gone downhill quite badly but not too sure how the rest of Europe is fairing. Travelled around Europe 2019 and definitely the trains were amazing.
I agree. Even with the strike in England, the train service was amazing. Just got back a couple of days ago and had a marvelous time.

The must See "Melting Clock" was a huge disappointment
My dad is a Dali expert. He’s testified in court as an expert. He owns a Salvador Dali gallery in California.
Of interest to potential visitors, that was the Transport Museum at 4:54 (also free entry) with the masts of the Tall Ship, Glenlee, poking out on the other side of the building (a Tour Bus stop). There is also a Rembrandt in the Art Galleries. 🙂

That's not a castle, that's just a Victorian building
Our Castles are a whole other level of grandeur
So so glad you got to our Beautiful Art Gallery. Yes The Crucifixion Painting just gets ye in the feels.
Appreciate your commitment but please be careful and take it as easy as possible. Not worth feeling miserable the rest of your trip! Thanks so much and enjoy!!

I love how excited and moved you were by that Dali painting. So glad you got to see it. And the Monet as well! Thanks as usual for sharing.
This is a great example of how preparation, effort, and perseverance lead to a rewarding travel day with special memories. That is why we go.

Love Scotland 🏴

I have found anywhere in the UK they do a lot of walking. I never realized you were an art lover. That was a great visit. Thank you
Thanks for bring back memories of Glasgow. Was stationed near there in the 70's and again a few years ago.

Nice video, congratulations for pushing through. When you look back on this vacation you will be so glad you did it.
I love Impressionism, I didn't realize until I took "that college course" many years ago. Thanks for sharing your excursion!
Ah Tony, my favourite painting, luckily I live not too far away and see it often… my husband proposed in George Square many years ago! Glad you enjoyed your time in Glasgow and the sun was shining!☀️
Dali is my wife's favorite artist. I've been trying to make a trip to St Petersburg to visit the museum. Glad you got the chance to see the city.
You go, Tony, what an adventure. Once in a lifetime and you took us with you.
I love that museum. There was a special Egyptian mummies exhibit when we were there. So fun to see some of the same sights. Thank you for being brave Tony! I love to see you experiencing the same things as my husband and I do on our travels. That’s great that you were able to see Dali’s painting of the crucifixion, and of course, the others. 🖼️
My daughter just spent the last 2 weeks in Scotland. They loved Glasgow. They visited the museum and spent so much time there. They ended up extending their time in Glasgow.
I grew up just along the road from the Kelvingrove museum and spent most Saturdays there, always went to visit Dali's painting, it's beautiful.
Great video , Thanks for visiting my beloved home city , and it is fascinating to hear what our visitors think . I know every spot on the film . Haste you back ! Warm and best wishes from Scotland 🏴
Thanks Tony, we truly appreciate all the work you put into these videos.
Thank you for sharing...loved the museum!! Wow!

Hey Bro, Thanks for taking one for the team!! Great content. I almost feel like I can take Scotland off my bucket list now.
So good to see you dug deep and got to see Glasgow!! Thanks for sharing!
Tony, thank you so much for the tour of the museum...good job!
Aah, bless. It's been a wee bit chilly in the mornings this week 🥶😄. I'm glad you enjoyed your day.
Glad you got to Kelvingrove it is an amazing place, the Dali is a very moving picture. Enjoy the lovely evening sailing down the Clyde
Glad you had a nice day
Thank you Tony! Can't wait to see Glasgow myself one day. Outstanding architecture everywhere!
The first time we visited Scotland, we found a shop where we were able to get a print of my husband's family coat of arms. We framed it after we returned home.
You know Dali is my favorite artist. So happy you got to see that.
I love that painting. Brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing that!
Those French impressionist paintings are wonderful❤
Thank you for the tour of Glasgow, its very interesting.
Now a 79-year-old female, precovid I spent a month in Italy during a three-year period traveling around the country. During those years, I visited relatively unknown (to Americans) cities and towns by train. So easy, so safe, so economical, so memorable!
The Hop On Top Off Bus Tours are definitely the way to go. I love taking them when I travel.
Good for you Tony so proud of you. As a flight attendant i used to go to Glasgow all the time. Its a beautiful city. After watching your video id now love to go back ❤ safe journey
Great video Tony, you made me feel like I was there with you.
Well done navigating the trains and buses and now I would like to visit Glasgow.
