- Hi guys! Welcome to another studio vlog! :) This week I’m taking you along with me for a week in my life as a bookish small business owner. We’ll be packing orders, continuing to draw for the botanical collection, unboxing the new glossy planner sticker sheets, anddddd drawing some more!

We felt the earthquake here in Philadelphia too. I was working and thought my mom had fallen down. I never would have guessed it was an earthquake. As a squirrel whisperer (thats what my husbans calls me) I would love to see some designs with squirrels on all the things.

Emily why don’t you combine book lovers lane and late night reading. Your late night reading book festival. And making the middle of the sleeve the book lovers lane and the top a celestial type look with the moon and stars and background include tress etc OR have a trail from bottom lead up to book lovers lane and the top celestial back ground …..idk it’s an idea not sure if I made sense but I picture it in my head lol😂. Love your work I’m sure you’ll do amazing!

Have you considered doing something sort of Secret Garden-inspired? This wild sort of floral explosion with some garden touches? Maybe stone walls and old trees? Something like that? I think it would make for a beautiful book sleeve or print in your particular art style.

Hi! I did a secret garden bookmark/sticker set for my monthly clubs last summer, but I LOVED that aesthetic so much so would definitely be up for designing more like that! 😻 I’ll have to see if I could take any of those designs I already did and turn them into a book sleeve too, that could be so pretty 🩷

I just wanted to say that I received my mystery box and I LOVED everything in it!!! I absolutley love the washi tape stand that came in it. I have it setting on my computer monitor stand with pretty washi tape on it and it looks so cute!! Useful and cuteness overload is what products should be!! Of course I loved everything in the box but that one item just stands out as so cute! Loving the new booksleeves you released this week, so cute!!! I look forward to your videos every week, they are like setting down to watch your favorite show and I love seeing all of the pink and bright colors in your studio... You have turned me into a pink girly LOL I have always been a teal person but as of late, I am finding that I have migrated to pink!! LOL.

What if you did a horizontal book sleeve? Like the spine is facing outwards? I think it would look so cool and go really well with your magnetic bookmarks since they don’t stick out the top like traditional bookmarks.

Emily, maybe when you make the leaves and vines you can make on a separate layer and then rotate and flip to get new shapes lol. Like that you can turn one vine into maybe 4 different sections or more if you rotate and flip different ways. Love the video. It's important to let other small business owners that there are down times too. ❤

The slow season is very common. I’m in food blogging and my site has so many visitors Nov-Dec and then January is so slow, then again before Easter😃 I think it’s same for everyone, just different timing

Your style is very unique, nobody could ever duplicate it for sure. The brushes you use on procreate are interesting too. I’ve been meaning to ask but I kept forgetting to ask, would you ever be willing to go live on RUclips? Maybe do a live drawing or packing session?

Do you know the crescent city trilogy by Sarah J. Maas....so good. Also the slow season is perfect for planning, get new inspiration, think about new products, analytics all that stuff, like you said, its not really time in the busy season
Yes I’ve read the first two books! And you’re so right, even though you may not be busy packing up lots of orders, it’s a great time for planning, marketing and sooo many other things that you don’t have time for during busy months! ☺️

Hiya! Glad you didn’t have any damage from the earthquake and snow storms! I had 4 tornadoes in my county all within 10-15 min from my house all within an hour! It was a harrowing evening! Our tornado sirens were going off back to back - felt like air raid sirens in the war! Yikes! / What art program do you use on your ipad? I had a wacom tablet years ago and never got the feel of it. Retired now and would love to sketch without all the art supplies! Thanks! Take care! ❤❤❤❤❤

For the Book Lovers Lane…could you do a series of book sleeves that when lined up become the full Book Lovers Lane? And I think someone else mentioned using the celestial scene above…I’m thinking it’d be sorta like how you make the acrylic ones for the bookshelves. So instead of the full Book Lovers Lane on one book sleeve…it would be one part of the whole per sleeve…am I making sense? 😂😂😂
