The fear of the Lord generates a strong confidence
Brother washer I am 72 and have always appreciated the verse it says that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall Mount up with wings of seagulls they shall run or not be weary they shall walk and not faint even the youth should be weary young men shall utterly fall but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. I praise God for your teaching and like to think of myself as a child and I think that you're teaching is very good especially on the fear of the Lord that is something that I've seen in your ministry and praise God for it thank you.
At 60+ years old I feel like Jethro among the 3rd graders at Mrs. Pott's school.
This is the richest study of Proverbs I can ever recall....
...the perspective of Proverbs as the 100 year old wise man sitting on the bench observing life
...the balance and saturation with the Gospel and Jesus as True Wisdom.
...the richness of bro. Paul's whole life and experience in rounding it out and applying it.

Real talk here, Biblically sound teaching. That's what we need in these last days. The more of the word we digest and deposit in our mind, heart, and Spirit the more we can discern the will of God. The fear of the LORD brings satisfaction in living.
I'm 17 and I've been following you since I was 14, and you put the fear of the Lord into me like no other. In fact I was very scared for most of my Christian life since I was doing this alone. I couldn't pray because I was so afraid of God, I did this because I was afraid either to disrespect or belittle God because I did not see him for who he is. He is a very fearful God indeed and I couldn't get over that fact even though I am a child of God and the bible encourages us to "go boldly to the throne of Grace," but I couldn't. I fear, even death, because I know I will have to face God. My question is:
How do I fear/respect God but also to not tremble and fear for my life when I need to grow closer to God and pray?

1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Philippians 1:21 (NASB):
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NASB):
16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.
17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,
18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Romans 8:14-15 (NASB):
14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
Praying that these words from a different brother Paul help you my friend. Though we serve a fearful God indeed, we are kept safe in Christ Jesus, He has paid our penalty in full and in Him we are children of God. If you are trusting in Christ alone for salvation there is no condemnation for you, and when you stand before God He will see you clothed in the perfect righteousness of Christ. Look to the price which Christ paid to purchase you, to free you, He did that for the glory of God, yes, but he also did it as a demonstration of His love for you.
Romans 5:8 (NASB):
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I have embarked on learning and knowing more of God that I may truly esteem, honour and be reverential to him. Thank you Pastor Paul for your timely videos. Q&A: A majority of members in my church are very shy to pray publicly. When I raised this issue with an elder, his reply was, “only God could grant that gift”. True, but as in James 1:22, I sought the Lord on prayers and he led me to the ‘ fear of the Lord’. I am a young Christian, and my question is, “Should we wait for the gift of grace or should we be encouraged or taught to seek the Lord’s wisdom first,?” “Grace, mercy and peace to you from God the Father and Christ our Lord.”

Pastor Paul, praise God for your gift of teaching.. i keep telling everyone i know to listen to this study of Proverbs. I prayed for humility, and God led me to listen to this series. When a man gains wisdom he tends to be arrogant, proverbs is full of wisdom yet if read and applied correctly, this wisdom shall humble us. Will download this for my 1 year old boy and in God's proper time, i will let him listen to this. :) thank God for you Ptr Paul.

It is not easy to learn what the wisdom is, but I could take one step further by your teaching everyday.
My question is "Why does God allow wicked thrives, but righteous starves or even suffer by their faith?"
"The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short"
- Proverbs 10 27
As you mentioned, this is just a general principle and counter example always exist.
"There is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who prolongs his life in his evildoing"
- Ecclesiastes 7 15
What is the motivation behind God's will that allows this contradiction to happen?
Why does God fill wrongdoer's stock, but empty His loved ones'?
What do His children obtain through suffering?

For Q&A: Mr Washer, some people think fearing the Lord and loving Him are two different things that don't go together. How would you explain their relationship? And is it more important that we fear God or love God? What should be emphasised more, especially to young people? Thank you!

Question: what is the difference between wisdom and knowledge? In one verse we read “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” in another “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”.

Brother Paul, have you ever thought to publish a study bible? These teachings are very good and I am getting much out of them. As I follow along in my study bible the Life Application Study Bible NKJV none of the verses you compare are referenced in my Bible when comparing scripture.

Q&A
1. As a catholic baptized at birth, does a Catholic who becomes a regenerated Christian, needs to be baptized again?
2. Does a Christian need to pray over a born again Christian to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit or do we gain our guide, teacher and comforter when we are regenerated into the body of Christ?
3. James 2:17 NASB: “Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.”
I feel Christians misinterpret this to mean doing charity. To quote you, Pastor, our works are filthy rags, therefore does Works here mean to make the effort to surrender our autonomy and try as much as possible to surrender to Christ so as to die to One‘s flesh? To live is Christ, to die is gain is that what James mean, sir?
4. I find the music not just the lyrics for Hillsong‘s Oceans (Where feet may fail), disturbing even just as leisurely listening, am i being paranoid?

Hi Pastor Washer. I am from Iowa. I am 13 years old. I really want God's wisdom. I read my Bible, I don't want to go to hell, and I know what Jesus did. I beg God to save me. I don't feel changed at all-not a bit. I mostly worry about myself and what I want. I keep doing my same sins. I tell Jesus, but I still feel dead about it, like you said in Lesson 2. What should I do?

You’ve brought to my attention how wrong I was in what I thought Christianity is and how this entire time I’ve never really followed Jesus and I’m afraid. I want to be living in joy for Him and I want to repent and believe but I’m having trouble with so many things. I have so many questions and I keep watching dozens of sermons from you online to try and answer them but there’s no way I can get them all down.

It is a book study if im not mistaken that he out together . search The Attributes of God by Paul Washer
What is the title of those 12 volumes on the 2nd shelf of the bookcase? I can just about make it out, and it's distracting me so much !
I can make out a lot of the other titles on his bookshelf but not the names on those volumes. Most of the others are published by the Banner of Truth but the spines of these books don't look like they were published by them. Could be from Reformation Heritage Books as they also publish collected works e.g. the 12 volume works of Thomas Goodwin.
