Just watched this whole series... they all brought up a very good point... the quality of life and most importantly your mental health is all down to how you value things/money... I don't make as much $ as those living in HK in the finance/investment field... but I got a nice healthy lifestyle, got happy kids and dogs... live just minutes away from a gorgeous, heavenly trail/lake... this you cannot find in HK!!
Load of crap. HK has Sai Kung, Lantau, DB, Lamma Shatin Repulse Bay ……. with lots of trails and greenery. BTW HK has a longer life expectancy than the UK. Go Figure
@@robocop581 me a load of crap?? or the ones featured in the video?? hard to compare though... those in the UK are boasting nice nature stuff in their own 'backyard'... the places you listed were either remote or the rich asses' backyards... if that makes sense!
The crux is his family is rich, this allows him to do whatever he wants without financial burden. On one side, he said sustainability is crucial, this is true. On the other hand, he owns two cars and drives for fun. Driving and sustainability are paradox. Again. his family is rich, this is why.
In some places like HK maybe, but in the UK it's pretty much a necessity to buy a car if one wants to go anywhere if they don't live inside a major city with good transportation links and even more so in rural areas. In fact, it's common here to have 1 car per person in households (and yes that may include children who just passed their test). Besides, cars (especially second hand cars) are cheaper here than in HK anyways and the cars they own don't cost that much in total lol (cheaper than 1 of a lot of new cars), especially love the Porsche. So yes, it can be very doable for one or even a family to sustain themselves whilst driving and enjoying life. Whatever method one do so is not up for us to judge, ultimately we should be spreading good vibes and wishing people like them well in their adventures, regardless of who they were in the past, are in the present and in the future.
@@UndeadCraftMinecraft In Denmark, a lot of people take bike, even they have automobile. Using car, even electrical car, is not environmental friendly. How to achieve sustainability by having more than one car. You can ask those poor local in UK, can't afford food, can't afford e-bill, gas-bill, water bill.... how often do they think of meaning of life, how often do they think of way of making themselves happy....they have super high pressure to survive, to tackle real life problems
@@bigocean9524 Well Denmark is definitely at the forefront at this with perfectly laid roads, segregated cycle lanes, dedicated bicycle racks for locking bikes everywhere and a road layout that integrates traffic from pedestrians, cyclists and automobile drivers, including integrated traffic lights, dedicated cycle/pedestrian crossings and priority at junctions/roundabouts. Cycling and (if we are talking about the environment, public transport) is possible because the infrastructure is there to support it, it's well designed, built and maintained to a high standard. In the UK, less so, with some roads so potholed you physically feel jolts even in a car and in most cities, cycling planning is just starting to take its place as we recover from COVD. And God forbid, if you lock a bike in a public area anywhere outside a city centre in the UK, well I just hope one would be able to see it again ever in their lives. Of course we would want to strive for alternative and environmentally sustainable transport, but it has to actually serve it's purpose well as transport, and right now in the UK at least, cycling is not viable as a mass transport here unfortunately like it is in Denmark, the infrastructure and culture isn't mature enough here to sustain such transition on a wide scale. Yes things are being done, we are making progress, but right now, it isn't enough. And yes I do agree and sympathise with people who are struggling with bills, with food and life in general and we should be acting and supporting them. But that issue is independent from the fact that some people may very well have the financial ability to own one or multiple cars. It depends on circumstances of individuals and neutral support should be given to all, whether or not they can afford commodities like cars or not. Taking a blanket moral high ground and applying it to polorising individuals on a financial sustainability spectrum in this case would only lead to conflict and disaster.
