The reaction to Todoroki's room is quite understandable, because he didn't just decorated the room, he remodeled it to become exactly like his room back at his house, which is a traditional japanese house, with tatami floor, fusuma doors... I bet that, if it was not for Sato's baking skills, he would have won without a doubt. And I love how Momo got embarrassed because she didn't expect the room to be smaller than the one at her house, because it just shows how innocent she really is.

I love how Kirishima used the money that he got back from bakugou to take his friends out for dinner. Also let me just say, screw Invisible Girl for hating on his room??? His room is awesome.
A thing a lot of people miss about Bakugo repaying Kirishima is the fact that he has Denki shock himself stupid not only to distract the others from his gesture but also to cheer the class back up. It really shows that he cares about them all
Bakugo grabbing electric guy (forgot his name) to cause a distraction to make other laugh. And then payed Kirishima back. It does seem like a nice gesture but it also means something for later in the season about how he truly feels. Stuck in the same level.
I've seen this episode and reactions of this episode several times, now, and I STILL can't decide who's room is my favorite. Characters like Sero, Jiro, Kaminari, and Mina certainly stand out to me, and I can't help but respect Shoto for the amount of work he put into his room, so I guess there's that.
Yeah, it's very difficult to choose just one... But then again... all the rooms fit the owner's respective personality quite well. I am still shocked that Todoroki managed to remodel his entire room in just one day. Too bad we didn't get to see Bakugo's or Tsu's... But I am glad we didn't get to see Mineta's. The only person in the class to ever enter Mineta's room was Bakugo and he got immensily disgusted by what was there... Apparently, his room his filled with magazines and posters that... well, you can imagine.
I'm not sure I would call Kirishima highstrung or explosive - he's energetic and passionate but also one of the nicest people in the class, like he is nice to EVERYONE.
I remember first time moving into college dorm and first house rented. When I went college all I had was big duffel bag filled with all my clothes and my backpack stuffed with personal items. We are FINALLY back into the slice of life of this show as people enter in new steps of their lives after all the insanity goes down. I this marks the end of hearing this fantastic intro though. Thankfully BOTH in season 3 are outstanding. Ok since this is a side episode of just seeing people try their best to cope with the major stresses of the season thus far and that’s all fun. It’s not actually a lot to analyze. So I want to talk about my traitor suspects. At this point in time, I had 3 based on the info in the show. Those 3 are Vlad King, Present Mic, and Principal Nezu. If information appears to alleviate my suspicions at the time of it in the show, I’ll say I crossed them off the list. And no sooner. I made these suspects based on a few factors. Information they have access to, the impact of their reveal on the cast, are they safe from villains in the times they have attacked (their most likely gain from BEING a traitor), would they have a motive, and how big of a threat they remain if caught. Simply put, I knew a traitor isn’t just a threat in the shadows but being a clear and present danger even if they’re found out. So I’ll go over why I chose them as suspects. We got Vlad King as he was on scene at the camp attack, and yet was completely out of danger. Dabi attacked the building they were at sure through a Twice clone. But he has the power to just burn the whole building down and didn’t. He would have the intel for both the USJ location and the Camp as a teacher, would NOT know All-Might wasn’t coming since he’s in Class B for the Season 1 attack, and Dabi even in the FACE of Vlad King didn’t attack him. (Vlad King also did not attack villains even when he arrives on scene at the USJ) Vlad King likewise made no move to render Dabi unconscious so they could chat…with the kids a mere few feet from them. Putting them at risk. Also you may have skipped the pool episode and while it’s not canon, I found it kinda weird that Vlad King and Aizawa review the quirks of the kids just after final exams when they would have their best opportunity to see their students quirks. There’s other reasons I have but I won’t say them now. Based on what I have, this is my weakest suspect but that goes to show how much can be put against him and my other suspects. Next is Present Mic. Now setting aside I’m using he who smelt it dealt it rules for my suspicion, he is the one to plant the doubt of the traitor from the beginning. Yes he attacks villains at the USJ, but he also has remained out of harms way from all major villain attacks. Maintaining complete distance, and he has the same info as Vlad King would and could be taken even further. There’s a chance that Present Mic’s narration of people’s quirks could be read to not just us the audience but he could be saying it to cast members…like the villains over a mic. Which would be a really neat double meaning 4th wall break. That and he was a consistent jerk to the kids in the Season 2 tournament publicly laughing at the kids being goofy on national TV. And even drew specific attention to Mineta’s stunt with the cheerleaders and has kinda delighted in messing with people around him. Like Vlad King I have other reasons to suspect him but I have to remain hushed for now. Plus he would be a large impact on Aizawa and more so Class A while Vlad King not so much. So story wise it would make more sense to go for Present Mic with a more clear relationship with the more major cast while Vlad King’s biggest impact would be Class B. And they are just not as important to the story no matter how much I dive into their background development. Principal Nezu as I’m sure you can guess is my main suspect. HE has been EXTREMELY unusual this entire show. He’s the smartest person in the show according to Horikoshi himself, but his actions are usually at direct conflict to his thought process. He’s involved in the OFA inner circle but unlike EVERYONE else in the inner circle, he has made ZERO contribution to OFA. He hasn’t so much as SPOKEN to Deku, and this LITERAL human hater who specializes in chain reactions (like say something large scale like USJ to Hosu, to camp, to Kamino…which YES was a large chain reaction building off each other) or how this guy has an honest to god smile on his face when he says Bakugo has been kidnapped and picks up a newspaper. Says we need good vibes at school and wants to rebuild trust but proceeds to incur some of the GREATEST stress he can onto parents by having their kids move out. He can fluff up his speech all he wants but quite frankly if I was a parent I’d be MORE stressed out seeing my high school kid LESS at the place they get attacked and moving your kid out is likely some of the GREATEST stress a parent can go through. He has SO much intel, has a CLEAR motive, and is quite literally in a position where he AS A SUSPECT would not be under investigation. And if he’s so smart, why wouldn’t he raise alarm cameras likely went down BEFORE talking to All-Might at the USJ. Yes we’ve seen his internal thoughts but there’s ALWAYS different ways to look at it when he says we need THIS but goes in the OPPOSITE direction. And to REALLY play into good vibes he wants it’s IMMEDIATELY followed by a very BAD vibe conversation with Aizawa. Speaking of which. I love this conversation. Do not get me wrong, Aizawa has EVERY reason to be ticked at the kids for their stunt. But when you listen closely, this is the single handed BIGGEST back hand of a “good job” ever. He is ANGRY they went but he can’t deny their contribution by some MIRACLE ended up working AND allowed All-Might to leave the battle alive, with Bakugo saved. It WORKED. So even though they FLAGRANTLY broke rules and got involved in something they never should have, without them things likely would’ve ended VERY differently. Which is why no one gets punished. Just scolded. MAJORLY scolded. Thankfully Aizawa now that he has the opportunity does NOT scold Deku more for the camp attack like he told Kota he would. Mainly because by now Aizawa knows that EVERY move Deku made THERE was justified. He DID have defense of himself and defense of others which THIS time was provable with Muscular unlike Stain. AND Deku single handedly kept there from being DOZENS of casualties without his contribution. While I won’t pick apart every little scene of the kids going through their rooms, one of the things I always notice about this episode is people ignored a gigantic red flag. And that’s Deku. Deku of course is being strong for everyone, but there isn’t a single person that should be more hurt by the events of season 3 than him. And once again, people failed to check on him increasing the list of incidents he is NOT checked up on afterward. Which is EVERY ARC IN THE STORY SO FAR. This is the one time Uraraka missed the opportunity to do what she can to make him feel better, but I give her the pass from taking care of Tsu. But NO ONE asks how he’s managing his idol retiring in that way. He was on ground zero no less. After what he went through to save Bakugo. The build up at the camp. ALL of that. Deku was in the heat of ALL of it. Even more than Bakugo. And Bakugo was targeted for capture. Deku was on an execution list. And his room is COVERED in All-Might merch. I’d be taking him aside IMMEDIATELY after his room was shown. But he just has to cope alone. And there’s no one to confide with. And I really wish Uraraka and/or Iida talked with Deku. He got caught up in the WORST ways of this season thus far. I’m not taking from the fun of this episode as there’s a LOT. Or Tsu’s big emotional moment with Uraraka helping her get her feelings out. This group just becomes more and more of a family with each passing episode and this is DEFINITELY a big one. There’s a gajillion details for each character in these scenes and the show doesn’t even let THESE details go unused even as simple as designing their rooms. This is the quietest episode of the season and it STILL goes this far. It’s so good.
On the subject of the UA traitor, all I'll say is this: you haven't read the manga, have you? Edit: Also, I like that you called out Present Mic for not being very nice to the students in season two. I feel like he took this job mainly for his friend, cause he doesn't seem to like or care about these kids that much.
@@HaydrogenBomb I have read the manga. I’ll talk about how I crossed off suspects as info came out or if my suspicions increased. Which they all had an increase in suspicion at some point. And some NEVER lost ANY at ANY point.
@@HaydrogenBomb probably have to go with Iida’s. That man’s wall of glasses as if they are trophies is SO funny. It’s like he has an eye doctor set up in his room. But if I were to choose a room to have it would be either Jiro or Mina. Not gonna lie. Those two have fantastic taste.
I'm in the process of moving away from home into my own place at 22 currently, so this episode resonates with me now more than ever. Edit: So, this was kinda premature. 😅 My place wasn't ready till over a month later, but I'm moved in now! 🥳
You know, Mineta constantly being a perv, combined with him openly admitting he only wants to be a hero to get girls, and his professors not having to say about that...... I think Stain was right all along.
I think the kids who knew but didn't help were held partially responsible because they didn't tell any teachers that the other students were thinking about it. Obviously, there would have been other consequences for telling, but they're comparing that to allowing their fellow students to break the law and risk their lives.
They kinda missed the point of the “walking skeleton” comment 😂 It was establishing that people DO recognize All Might as Small Might, and he can’t just chill in public any more.
This is one of my favourite episodes of this season, even though there is like zero action in it. I just like vibing with class 1A (well, except maybe Mineta) and even though there are twenty of them, they all that have some distinguishable character traits and "quirks" (no pun intended) that make them unique. In most shows, they'd just be a bunch of nobodies, but I really appreciate that the show actually takes the time to characterize all those students. By knowing who most of them are, it just makes their bond as a team feel stronger.
I can't fathom why any teacher would allow Mineta to be anywhere in the near vicinity of where the girls of 1-A are staying. I'm at least glad the characters don't entertain Mineta's antics, I just wish there weren't even any antics written into the story to entertain.
@@Gaze-fu4bvHe actually didn't say that! He said Mineta was created to exaggerate and poke fun of his past self when he was younger. Specific emphasis on the "exaggerate" part. If it was truly a self insert why would he make the other characters take the crap outta him constantly and treat him like a joke? The most "self insert" like character is Aizawa, he's based on his negative emotions!
At this point in the story, I started suspecting that Mineta purposely emphasizes his worst traits specifically to get a rise out of people. He's actually far more cunning than he lets on; if he actually committed to being a creep, he'd be far more "successful" at it rather than getting his deserved punishment at every turn.
@@DenisK21Ikr, people think it’s disturbing but for me it’s like watching the coyote finally have his plan work or seeing a male Tsundere. The pervert finally gets away with it instead of getting caught all the time. A cunning pervert. Finally
A little detail I love is that neither Todoroki nor Midoriya actually apologize to Tsu, bc if it came down to it, they'd absolutely pull that shit again without hesitation
this anime makes me remember about my HS life, got good classmates, got so much fun, adventures, NO QUIRKS thou😅 but watching this anime makes me remember that part of my life.
One of my favorite Bakugo moments is actually this episode with Kaminari, at first you wonder why he had him use his powers to go goofy, but then you see it was Bakugo’s way of cheering up the class indirectly in his own special way. He walks away right after too, he wants the group to be good and happy he just doesn’t know how to be a part of it or won’t be viewed that soft.
Am i the only one who thinks Sero has a super cool room? No jokes, if Sato didn't have something to cook and Iida didn't have book (two things that I love) that room would be perfect
Just for the fact that Todoroki remodeled his entire room in just one day, I think he should have won. I mean, he put tatami floor and a fusuma door for the balcony... The others just decorated the dorms... He transformed his dorm into a copy of his room back home from top to bottom.
My favorite little detail for the room tour is that Uraraka and Ashido (and maybe others) each took a pair of Iida's glasses with them for the rest of the tour! You can see them wearing the glasses when they're petting Kouda's bunny :')
The reason why All Might leaving was a factor in why EraserHead didn't expel the class is because... If the collective power of all the heroes in the world was at 100% before, then All Might made up a good 50% of that power by himself and now with him powerless the world needs all the heroes it can get at this point.
Fun fact, the overhead shot at 8:31, you see all 19 students, minus Tsu. Not only showing her feelings, but also demonstrating a power she will refine later.
I love this episode because it really reminds me of the X-Men. It's not unusual to have entire issues where zero superhero action takes place, and you just see what everyone does when they're not fighting. About the mean comments about All Might being skinny: Izuku's Mom probably gets nastier comments about being overweight. Japanese people can be mean to people who are different. As the Japanese say "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down." With All Might retiring, they need every hero they can get. I love the irony that Yayorozu is from a wealthy family. Given her quirk, she would probably be very content with a lot less money.
I'm not convinced Aizawa would have actually expelled anyone. He fake expels and exaggerates punishment all the time. I'm sure he was just trying to really drive home the point that he wasn't happy with what happened.
Honestly, Kaminari's room is probably the most "normal" one out of all of them. He decorated, he didn't go incredibly overboard, yet he still showed his a certain degree of personality in his room. I'd agrre with his "It's perfect." Same goes with Anima and Sugar Rush(don't remember their real names, only their hero names) for example. Honestly, most of the "less noticable" characters are that way. Which makes absolute sense. Acceptable decoration, shows personality, not completely overblown, etc. It feels liike all of their rooms are a direct representation of their role in Hero society,. Which isnt a bad thing, as everyone has their own goals, but clearly shows what they want. This entire room showcase was a surprisingly big show of character and motivation. It's an underrated, yet very important episode imo. Edit: MAYBE POSSIBLY SPOILERS. Mina Ashido's reaction to Kirishima talking about his room is very likely one of MANY foreshadowings of... how they will treat each other in the future. Edit: Hirokishi is such an incredible chracter writer. Of course, there are "big" character moments like Bakugo being helped by Izuku during the Sludge villain part, but even tiny things like the workout fanatic Kirishim and the Martial Arts fan Uraraka agreeing with his room design are so incredibly cool. World Building might be my personal favourite part of writing, but damn, do I feel like character writing is highly underappreciated.
I GENUINELY don't understand the hate Tsu gets for the end of this episode. She feels bad for what she said to her friends, but still believes that she was right, only to learn that they went away and everything worked out. How was she supposed to react? Her entire view on what the "right thing" to do has been completely uprooted, and she could've been expelled for it, even though she didn't do anything. And despite all that, she didn't want her friends to feel bad about it. For the people who actually hate Tsu in this moment, what the actually heck is wrong with you? Edit: Also, my head canon is that Tsu's room is full of green and a TON of humidifiers. 😅
I can’t say I’ve seen people hating on Tsu for what she did, although I wouldn’t doubt it because she told the teachers and could have been seen as squealing to the teachers. Either way there was zero risk to her getting in trouble and expelled.
I dont understand it either. Her point was completely fair and valid, I don't think she was even so much worried about the expulsion, but more so, how her friends might have been upset because of what she said before the rescue and that she thought maybe they didn't respect her opinion? I personally freaking love Tsu and think this episode was important for her development.

We did not get so to see Bakugou's room because Hori-Sensei said that he collect romance manga. Just imagine Bakugou reading something like HoriMiya. It's adorable. He's a soft boi inside.
One thing to have in mind is that in the world of MHA the students arent just students, they're assets in training. W Almight gone, they need all the heroes they can get and keep from the villains. Society's situation is decaying rapidly with the Leagues and All For One's latest moves. They know sh1t's about to hit the fan big time. It would be irresponsible to expel heroes in training/assets and leave them for grabs by the villains. 😅
This episode is possibly the only one I would say is a true filler aside from the recap ones and the second movie, but it still struck with me anyway. My fondest memories of my life came from living in dorms, and I didn’t like it much then, but it was nothing like anything else I’ve experienced since.
I don’t get the whole “can’t see a girl’s room” when it comes to guys. I’m friends with a lot of girls and we always showed each other our rooms when we visited the other’s house/dorm.
Listening to Taylor swift? That’s not a female gaze thing, that’s a Montana gaze thing. lol. But yes, confident cook is a very attractive trait. So is a man who is a bit of a handyman or is confident in potentially dangerous or difficult situations. A man’s capacity to do harm but with the strength of character to keep it sheathed until needed in defense of the weak. For ladies, those are common attractions unrelated to physical appearance.
Honestly, this entire "follow every rule to the letter or you will be expelled" and "If you don't follow the rules you are no better than the villains" from Tsuyu, are in my opinion the BY FAR worst parts of the writing of this story. That is such an unbelievably stupid, naive, childish and ridiculous line of thinking, it always takes me right out of every bit of immersion in the story. Especially the entire "Tsuyu crying" scene. No wonder things have gotten so bad, if that is the bull you teach people. Also let me just say, screw Invisible Girl for hating on his room??? His room is awesome.
Forreal. Hakagure WENT THERE. 😂
Right, big talk from someone unseen by the naked eye
lol yeah then I saw her room and it all made sense. Her room looks like you would sink through it cause it looks so soft. 😂
Pretty sure the original Japanese line of dialogue is less harsh.
@@Jayfive276 Something like... it being on the list of rooms she would least want her boyfriend to have
A thing a lot of people miss about Bakugo repaying Kirishima is the fact that he has Denki shock himself stupid not only to distract the others from his gesture but also to cheer the class back up. It really shows that he cares about them all
Roses are red, Violets are blue, Bakugo goes to bed at 8:32
Bakugo grabbing electric guy (forgot his name) to cause a distraction to make other laugh.
The apology scene is one of my favorite moments in the show, and one reason why Tsu is one of my favorite characters
That was everything I owned and never decorated room. When I moved into first rental all I had was single chair a tv and bed mattress. Some us just don't own much possession or like to decorate :)
8:24 he was like... i forgot if it was debt, but smth like, if you keep spending your money/goign broke you'll make _me_ feel bad
12:50 they were much more subtle. They just like... "wow! It's so...normal!" "Normal...yeah! 😅"

9:00 He found out the cost from Denki
9:30 not quite hehe

24:16 bring on the Tsuyu-chan-kun from Tenya hehe (I wish it translated)
24:35 Manliest reaction
Btw love that at 20:45 sero wrapped mineta with tape to stop him from being a perv
Gotta ask; who's room was your favorite?
@@HaydrogenBombIronically, it was mic and midnight that got aizawa to be a teacher.
I was distracted by that absolutely gorgeous cat for most of the episode. :D :D :D
Not as adorable as White Shoes, but up there. 😉
This episode was so cute. It was honestly nice to see all of tsu's friends comfort her.
I'm in the process of moving away from home into my own place at 22 currently, so this episode resonates with me now more than ever.
Edit: So, this was kinda premature. 😅
My place wasn't ready till over a month later, but I'm moved in now!
The Author once said Mineta is supposed to be a self-insert character, which honestly makes his behavior even more disturbing
Ironically, Mineta is how the comic book author/artist sees himself. That's the really strange part.
@@DenisK21Ikr, people think it’s disturbing but for me it’s like watching the coyote finally have his plan work or seeing a male Tsundere. The pervert finally gets away with it instead of getting caught all the time. A cunning pervert. Finally
The episode my boy Sato got some spotlight.
Tail-man's ongoing joke is that he's very plain.
Bakugo, my beloved...
That cat is too adorable omg

this anime makes me remember about my HS life, got good classmates, got so much fun, adventures, NO QUIRKS thou😅 but watching this anime makes me remember that part of my life.
Love the Eras Tour shirt!
OH WOW. I knew a certain something was foreshadowed, but I had no idea about a certain detail in this episode. It seemed so minor. That's crazy.
what farshadowing ? ( i am a manga reader)
The reason why All Might leaving was a factor in why EraserHead didn't expel the class is because... If the collective power of all the heroes in the world was at 100% before, then All Might made up a good 50% of that power by himself and now with him powerless the world needs all the heroes it can get at this point.
this is a top ten fave episode for me
its so fun
The baking guy is his shirt an Ironman hat tip
Here we go! My favorite kick-back episode of MHA.
As the Japanese say "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down."
With All Might retiring, they need every hero they can get.
This episode makes me like Froppy even more. She’s one of my favorite character in this show
Agreed! She's so down to earth and sweet at the same time.
"Did you shake him down for cash" kills me every single time
25:30 when Montana says "kick it" I can't be the only one who automatically went to BeastieBoys
4:46 Concrete bending? You mean like…Cementoss?
omg I love all the psychoanalysm of the dorms
It is coming out on my birthday
Happy birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A great characterizing breather.

This is the episode that made me want Deku's mom and All Might to fall in love so they can be a family!

Izuku mother and all might predecessor are related
Wait does Todoroki's room even have a bed-
it’d be funny if they reacted to miraculous tales of ladybug and cat noir
Honestly, this entire "follow every rule to the letter or you will be expelled" and "If you don't follow the rules you are no better than the villains" from Tsuyu, are in my opinion the BY FAR worst parts of the writing of this story. That is such an unbelievably stupid, naive, childish and ridiculous line of thinking, it always takes me right out of every bit of immersion in the story. Especially the entire "Tsuyu crying" scene. No wonder things have gotten so bad, if that is the bull you teach people.
Edit: God, I wrote this comment BEFORE the Tsuyu scene, but now that I have actually seen it again, I find it even more dumb than I did before.
