No you shouldn't make movies because your RUclips hit this is been 4 years and you only have 38,000 hits on this so yeah that's even doing bad that's why I don't make RUclips videos and stuff because I'm not good at it I'm 60 years old I'd rather just watch them and get comments and some hearts and stuff I'm not going to put out any videos anytime soon I would go with my gut instinct and not make any more movies you're not doing well goodbye

How patience Werner Herzog must've had in order to deal with Klaus Kinski "a troublesome actor on the set". As a matter of fact, he said in the documentary "My best friend", while shooting the movie "Aguirre, the wrath of God", he wanted to kill Kinski for later killing himself with a rifle. So their friendship overcome the fiction.
There is a RUclips channel called something like "Making (insert film title) was s*it show". I can't take it seriously because Fitzcarraldo exists. Everything else is only "slightly complicated" in comparison.
I remember watching documentary interview with director Jean-Jacques Annaud on the subject of the production of the 1986 film 'The Name of the Rose," after finishing filming in Italy he returned to his office in Munich - I hope I'm remembering this story correctly - he goes up to the third floor in the elevator, gets out and there is nobody there who he knows and all of the furnishings have changed. Confused, Annaud gets back in the elevator goes back down. Annaud considers his position, gets back in the elevator and goes back up to the third floor where things were as he had just encountered them - and goes back down. Annaud gathers his courage and goes up for a third time and approaches the woman at the reception to ask what is happening, she replies, 'Oh M. Annaud you are down in the basement.' Annaud descends and finds Producer Bernd Eichinger, who explains, 'So sorry, we didn't want to worry you, we ran out of money and had to sell the building...' Talk about production problems.
And now after being in this place for so long, I try to remember how I got here, or when exactly this had turned from a rescue and research mission to planetary xenocide. I was human when I felt fear and worry for my approaching death, but any creatures that appear to attack me now vaporise in a cloud of gold coins without any input from my end. The tide has certainly turned for this whole planet, no longer do I have to survive the onslaught of its natural life, they must now survive me. I wonder if whoever we hoped to find here, if any survivors of the Contact Light existed in the first place, are even still alive, or if I've killed them already without knowing. I'm beginning to forget my humanity, or maybe I already have and I'm just looking back as if reading untranslated text, assuming I understand what that word once meant to me. Good Lord please strike me down, I fear I have become the devil, and a creature I cannot kill, but for the life of me I can't identify the distinction between survival and extinction of all life on this planet.
Poor Werner. His view of the jungle was probably severely biased by the hardships of making this movie. I’d hate anything that caused me this much trouble
Man... He said that while shooting a movie with Klaus Kinski. Everybody who knows Kinski's temperament might have an inkling as to why Werner Herzog felt so utterly wrecked. Bet, he got more than he bargained for on that trip...
1:10 -- Kinski screaming at everyone. Sees we're going over a waterfall. Holy Shit! Manly three-way cuddle (Also turns out, if you've seen the full documentary, he's the fucking designated first aider).
Does this boil down to a German naturally uncomfortable in the jungle, just as a Peruvian native to the jungle would be naturally uncomfortable enduring a German winter? I haven't seen Burden of Dreams yet. Does it offer any interviews of the Peruvian jungle natives? Maybe they think the jungle is kinda nice and could offer a different perspective?
I went to film school and after college I ended up seeing the documentary "Heart of Darkness" which is about the making of Apocalypse Now. I'm being completely honest when I say that after watching that documentary I no longer wanted to be a filmmaker. I can't even fathom working with Klaus Kinski in the middle of the humid jungle. Working with arrogant self-important assholes like Marlon Brando is pretty much the gig. No gracias.
@04hutchn its good, yeah! Although in all honestly the behind the scenes documentary, where I sourced a lot of these clips is better in my opinion. It's called 'Burden of Dreams' by Les Blank. Both are worth a watch ✌🏼
Horseshit. To think such is to somehow place humanity above nature. We’re apart of nature. We’re apart of the universe. There’s nothing special or grotesque about us, and there are several animals who, if given the resources and a few thousand more years worth of brain development, would do the exact same thing we do or even worse.
I get it but I dont get it...he is admitting the madness but continues...some actors dont watch their own movies..@least he admits his existential crisis..such weird paradoxes in life..
