I actually like how he doesn't leap out the window after Ada like in the original! He just gives a brief menacing stare, then walks away. It just makes more sense this way. I know I'm a few months late, but I'm on my first playthrough of RE4 remake. Just made it to the castle. Loving it so far 🙌🔥
Great video! The Bitorez fight in the RE4 remake was really faithful to the original and it's a fantastic battle. In fact, on my latest episode of the RE4 mobile series, I faced off against him and it was intense! Keep up the great work!
You know I always felt like this was really an instance of "video-game logic" lol. Mendez is straight up invincible in his base form. He manhandles leon in every single cutscene and even during the short chase sequence there is nothing you can do against him. But then he transforms and should become way more powerful and then he can suddenly be defeated? It's just something I noticed but I loved Re4 Remake it is incredible in every sense
That’s true for absolutely every RE stalker-type enemy. Although Mr. X in Re2 Remake stayed invincible no matter what but you could kill him with a rocket launcher when it finally dropped.
It’s because the Plagas parasite was exposed after Mendez was blown to bits, allowing you to easily hit him where it hurts, in his “base form” shooting him will do virtually nothing as the Plagas is safe inside of him. Same with Mr.X. His trench coat is basically a “power binder” keeping him contained and simultaneously being completely bullet proof and resistant to all damage, which is why shooting him in the head is the only way to down him, bullets bounce right off his coat. Once at the end his coat is removed, flesh exposed and free to mutate, the rocket can easily finish him off as his defences are nil. Both Plagas and T Virus make the host highly durable and resistant, but not flat out immortal. It’s not really dumb video game logic, it makes sense if you think about it and pay attention to what the game shows and tells you.
The best logic I can come up with is that Dominant Plaga hosts can't be truly killed unless the Plaga itself is exposed. Chief Mendez' body was greatly injured by the explosion, so his burst out of his body due to the damage Ramon took three shots and then a nasty fall, so his body likely mutated and the plaga exposed itself. Saddler and Krauser simply exposed their plagas because they were confident they could kill Leon and Ada.
It makes sense for him to be weaker after transforming if you think about it. In both the original and remake he only does so after Mendez' human body suffered severe damage from an explosion, like the parasite is doing one last ditch effort to get rid of the threath. Also, all the organs and vital spots of the Plaga are exposed after the transformation.
basically removed to be changed, i know it is changed but my context is in the original RE4 they have big cheese scene where he yeeted himself out from the window
@@holstergmauser5893 Honestly wished they didn’t cut that, It was kinda terrifying to see a near 7 foot figure like Mendez running at Ada like that. It’s much better than Mendez just showing up to choke Leon and then walk out of the room.

Definitely weird on the Ashley part I was okay with original Ashley didn't hate or like her but I really like remake Ashley the knife part not so much but I get why they changed that in original that knife was so overpowered.
@@adambump5297 I just feel like if the kept Ashley the same then a lot of the scenes with her would be better, such as the scene where Saddler tries to make her shoot Leon.
I preferred this Ashley over the whiny brat in the original. I actually cared about saving her whereas original Ashley was stupid enough to get captured repeatedly. As for the knife, I thought it was a good balance with what they did. Leon being able to parry and be so deadly with the knife makes sense due to his training. The durability meter was a way to balance that so it’s not spammable To each their own though
They dressed him like a Tyrant, and even when Ada shoots his head his hat falls off lol I love it
he was more of a Chad in the original. Here he's older and more mysterious.

Chief Mendez has always been one of my favorite RE villains. It's a shame they never call him the big cheese in the remake.
It's big chief

Just wait till you see Mr. X
hats are swag

Leon definitely got some Mr X ptsd from being thrown around like a rag doll by giant mutant superhumans wearing fedoras and a trenchcoat
