The greatest rivalry in Big Ten sports. Bar none. This era invoked more emotion than anything today. No billion dollar NCAA bidniss, just raw athleticism in the awesome 70s. Love it.
Remember as a kid watching these Buckeyes Wolverines clashes on 70s TV.Always was on edge of seat.Sure was a great feeling when Buckeyes won.75 was the first one I watched on TV.Too bad Ohio State didn't beat them again until 79.Both wins in Ann Arbor
Iam 63 use to go to all games home and away almost all them should I say. All the way until the early 2000. You couldn't give me a ticket now. Throw, throw, throw, that's all they do took the linebacker and fullback out. Scores 60 to 55. No thanks. Just play 7 on 7
To put this in perspective...I played High School Football, at Eastmoor, with Archie (our High School Coach is in his 90's and is still alive). I was a Sophomore when he was a Senior in High School. This video is from the 50 year Anniversary of THE SHOE. I have watched all BUCKEYE football games over the years so I was watching this one. Present day I work at THE SHOE as a Redcoat and was there last year when they commemorated the 100th Anniversary of THE SHOE. Thank you for the video ! !

If you look at the 50 year history of Big-Ten vs. Pac-8 then Pac-10, the first 20-25 years dominated by Big-Ten, the last were dominated by Pac-10 as offensives changed to favor the Pac-10 style of play. As a Mich first, then Big-Ten fan growing up, it was hard to watch my team coming out every year to seemingly lose - some great Pac-10 teams and players I'd see later, like Warren Moon of Washington...USC had great players and teams as well - but on the eve of the last game of the Big-Ten vs. Pac 10, 1998 Rosebowl Game, I think it was 24-24-1 between the two conferences or very close - now that's a balanced rivalry overall....

Bo Schembechler, Dennis Franklin, Ed Shuttlesworth and many others were from Ohio. It was a great game!
Great memories.
So glad to have been at Ohio State during those years.
Amazing Ohio State won this game against one of Bo's best teams. No wonder Woody Hayes and John Hicks were in tears after this Upset win.
Champ Henson was a beast for Ohio State.Never lost a yard.
This was hard to watch...Not because of the film - because of the play-calling !! Whew! Gut wrenching for both sides.
