    Filter is just for emissions some states have a check every year for emissions and shit. Luckily kentucky doesn’t, so illegal tint and bov and exhausts and cst deletes and so on can be done, states with checks every year you have to change everything before you go in for your checks, or have like your filter installed since you’re releasing air back into the atmosphere, im assuming this is releasing air and not a full 100 circulation back to your engine

    What if I just take the hose out that’s there to recirculate the air and leave the stock BOV vented to atmosphere. Would that harm my engine in any way ? I’m tryna save some money for my catch can 😂

    • @KDMCurt
      @KDMCurt  Год назад +1

      Actually that would be fine and is the most cost effective way of getting the BOV sound. The only thing you’ll need is those little rubber caps and hose clamps you see me put on the intake tubing at around 2 minutes in the video. That will make sure you’re not sucking hot air and debri into your engine.

    • @KDMCurt
      @KDMCurt  2 года назад +1

      Intakes will definitely help with more sound but also make sure they settings on the BOVs are set properly. If the springs are set too soft you won’t build a good amount of pressure to make them go “pshhhhh”. I’ve revved mine next to my buddies who has the HKS’ and they are just as loud.

    Quick question is it better to get the injen intake or the cold air intake?

    • @KDMCurt
      @KDMCurt  2 года назад

      Well these intakes and Injen intakes aren't technically cold air intakes, they are what is known as "short-ram intakes". The air they draw in isn't really cold. These BMS intakes, the Injen intakes and the AEM, JT, K&N intakes are all providing pretty much the same thing, it's really about what design you want to see when you open the hood.

      @@KDMCurt so they are hot air intakes ok and more air goes directly into the engine opposed to the cold air intakes right? And i appreciate the quick replies you earned a subscribe from me

    • @KDMCurt
      @KDMCurt  2 года назад +1

      @@ConradJenk yeah basically hot air, although there is some heat shielding and I also installed those big snorkels that feed more air into them as well. I appreciate the support! They probably supply the same amount of air a “cold air intake” would but nobody is really making one for the stinger. For it to truly be cold air it would need to be very far forward like right behind the grill with heat shielding, or out of the hood completely.

    so if i get a blow off valve, i plan on having it on my car for more than 5 years i thought blow off valve's damage turbos or make them not work properly overtime? have you had any issues with your engine, turbo, or performance overall? or are they perfect

    • @KDMCurt
      @KDMCurt  3 года назад +1

      Haven’t had any issues with them yet. They are just blowing out extra air from the turbo’s that is usually circulated back into the intakes. As long as they are installed correctly and maintained properly you should be good to go. I think damage usually comes if the springs aren’t tensioned right and they hold the air in rather than letting it fully escape and go “psshhhhh”.

On this platform, excess air is vented back into the intakes instead of to the atmosphere. Both essentially do the same thing, although for all intents and purposes the stock bypass valve system on the Stinger is technically more efficient.
