Just got my bottle of Tuxedo recently and love the scent! I don't get the best performance out of it, so I need to periodically respray it. Good thing I got the 125ml.
Let's not be too hard on dupes. There's really nothing illegal or immoral about them. Flavors/scents can't be copyright protected. Think about it...if it weren't for dupes, there'd be no Pepsi, Sprite, or Oreo's, just to name a few.
Tuxedo is a LEGENDARY fragrance. Easily one of the best scents ever!

If you immediately forget which is which in comparing a $30 to $230 fragrance the $30 Moustache is a no brainer for most.
Love both of these fragrances….however Moustache was released in the 1940’s whereas Tuxedo was released in the 1960’s…by far not a dupe, just two great fragrances toeing a similar line together

Wrong Moustache! It's the Rochas Moustache EDT that was released in 1949. It's the Moustache EDP that is being compared here. I have both.
Honestly, given the price difference, most people would be better off picking up Moustache over Tuxedo. It's not too far off it. Tuxedo is obviously higher quality and better blended, but the difference in fragrance isn't as great as the difference in price, and Moustache is excellent anyway.

Outside of the 'Frag Com' as it were virtually no-one would have even heard of Tuxedo, and the fact is that Moustache stands up on its own as a fantastic fragrance, I think buying Moustache over Tuxedo is a complete no brainer.
The biggest problem with Moustache is price volatility as it swings around in price massively, but when it can be bought at a good price I think there are few better price to value propositions. For the amount of money it costs, when its at a low cost point, there are few if any better choices.
I think its also important to differentiate that the Moustache EDP is the one compared to Tuxedo, whereas the EDT is more a citrus fragrance along similar lines to Eau Sauvage, but even the EDT is good but it is a 100% different fragrance from the EDP.
I just buy 5 or 10ml decants. Using them once or twice a day they last for a while. I prefer having the real thing in smaller amounts instead of “similar” clones. Some exceptions can be made when the clone is sometimes better or it’s own fragrance. DUA’s Super Nova, Caribbean Waters, Caribbean Supernova are perfect examples.
I feel like Moustache is about 85% close to Tuxedo, but it misses the extra 15% sophistication that makes Tuxedo so special., the slight differences that elevates Tuxedo from a good smelling fragrance to an absolute masterpiece. Absolutely worth the higher price in my opinion. Love the content, subscribed!

yeah thats the one. thats ment to be a dupe. Moustache is its own thing. specially after you have the bottle for a while and the liquid macerates. you get WAY more rose and leather vibes that way :)
I have Moustache, and I used to have a decant of Tuxedo. I agree with your review. While Moustache is good, Tuxedo does edge it out overall. I purchased Moustache thinking it was close enough, but honestly I don't wear it nearly as much as I thought I would. If you're in a pinch, Moustache works, but I would recommend to everyone not to make the mistake of thinking they are close enough as I once did, because Tuxedo just smells overall classier. Great video!
its wild. i like that they are different to stand on their own. thank goodness Moustache goes its own way as the fragrance progresses to dry down . rockem both. isnt Mehmet by Lataffa designed to be a stone cold clone. should do that one rather than Moustache.
Get Maison Alhambra the Tux
Moustache has a quality scent and performance of a fragrance at least 3X more expensive than it truly is.
It might not be "as Tuxedo as Tuxedo", but it is soooo good and such high quality for the price that nobody should talk Moustache down.. it really is a sublime quality fragrance for the price.

Infamous is a negative connotation. It means being famous for a bad reason. I don’t think Moustache is infamous.

Lost me once she said she doesn't believe in dupes due to the "idea" same people who don't believe in replicas when they're literally made in the same country, using the same materials on the same factory line.
Moustache definitely has a cigarette Ash scent to it just like a few other dupes I've smelt which can be off putting. They just don't compare to Tuxedo

There are 2 moustache fragrances. The 1940s original is nothing like Tux. (Not meant to be)
The one she is comparing is the modern version (edp- grey lid/black writing) the edp smells like Tux

Rochas is not a dupe at all it is a fragrance all by itself. I don’t even know why it gets compared to tuxedo. I own them both and love them both, my opinion, they smell nothing alike. Rochas is amazing after it macerates
I got my bottle of Tyxedo from Bergdolph Goodman a couple of years ago. It’s stays out of stock. I’m glad someone agrees with me on dupes. I’d rather wait and save up for the original fragrance.

Maison Alhambra the tux is easily the best tuxedo clone and it's cheaper than moustache. I own both and will be selling moustache

@@eauderica the Tux by Maison Alhambra made it so I’ll never have to buy YSL because it’s that spot on. I like fragrances but I like my money more $26 vs $270 for the same thing literally. You have to hate money and just want to give it away for no reason to justify still buying tuxedo lol
