Just FYI I have taken the full 6 hour course already on Udemy, it is one of the best courses if you are interested as a basic stepping stone into data-vis using after effects. There aren't many courses which focus on this in AE unfortunately so this course is great if that's what you're after. Simple graphs and linear type infographics are covered.

I have one question- so far- at 46:02 in your video, you talk about duplicating the House layer once it's perfect, and then replacing it with the image of the next Icon you want to utilize...at that point it was the wife...How would I go about replacing the image? I sadly can't figure that part out...Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, I will be a new subscriber and am looking forward to learning more!
Dan can I learn to make cartoons characters to bring to life with some music? and create music instruments like a pan flute ? This may not help anyone and there may be another comment about this, but if your starburst animation seems to stay on the screen instead of disappear (like mine did), make sure you don't have a stroke added to your shape. I had a 2px stroke without realising and that is what was making it stay static on screen. I watched that section so many times knowing I was doing it right until I noticed the stroke was there so want to save anyone else from that frustration if I can! hahaha
In the past week, I have used your videos to get myself familiar with InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects. I've gone from being completely clueless to confidently executing what I have in mind. Yup, because. He uses a structure to his tuts. He prefaces his class as a summary, then proceeds to follow what he introduced …where as others describe what is happening on the screen - those are amateurs
There isn't a single infographic in this hour long video... It's all motion graphics and key frame tutorials. I thought we'd be making data visualization for infographics like the title says. Ex: kenetic line graphs and bar graphs, pie charts, stats. But nope nothing at all
WONDERFUL video. But you DESPERATELY need a clip on mic, and the editor to LOWER the music. Your audio track is not mic'd, and you sound like you're the room, but you're not mic'd. Clip it on, boom it, but DO IT, please. :)
Hi Scott, thank you for making this course for free, it's great. I have a question. My circle burst does not disappear nicely, fading out like yours. I see you made a cut in your tutorial video when previewing the burst at 55:35. Any idea what I've done wrong? Rewatched 100x :( Thank you.

Whilst I do enjoy your way of teaching, this video is false advertisement. It is absolutely NOT a free course. This video shows about 1/10 of the instructions for the video you are to create, and the rest of the course is behind a $12 pay wall. Why lie and get people to start something that they then feel obliged to pay for in order to finish it? I'm now sitting with 1/10 of a project completed and either have to spend $12 or try and figure the rest out myself. Just say how it really is at the start instead of lying to people.

This may not help anyone and there may be another comment about this, but if your starburst animation seems to stay on the screen instead of disappear (like mine did), make sure you don't have a stroke added to your shape. Yeah he didnt show how to fade it out, the effect just stays. What I did was I just set a keyframe for opacity and slowly fade it out

Change the "Program" from Agressive TE to Analog Base 1 TE inside the GMS setup equlizer panel..
