You said it perfectly at the end. For a long time, I was also afraid to go to metal concerts. But it's actually the most loyal and respectful community, especially at smaller venues. I went to this show in Hamburg, and I was also surprised by how different the bands were in style. Northlane, as always, was great, but Novelists really impressed me. It was clear how much they enjoyed being on stage, and their energy was incredible. The new vocalist is fantastic!
ten56. is so sick. Ultra heavy. Ultra unique. Ultra low. Really cool blend of metal and hip hop, even throwing electronic elements into their music. Can't recommend diving into their music enough. Sick Dog, Boy, Yenta, all great songs to start with and probably some of their most standout imo.
Saw this tour at Manchester. Such a good gig. So sick to see Novelists with more support from the crowd too after I went to a very small headline gig of theirs in February. Camille never disappoints and scream vocals are getting better and better - love it. They’re supporting Tesseract if you fancy catching them again 🙌🏻 Great review man 🤙🏻
I was at the Glasgow show they did and I have to agree, absolutely phenomenal. I’m a fan of ten56 but not a massive one so they were a revelation for me. Novelists I saw as a headliner in Leeds earlier this year so I already knew how good they were going to be but man Northlane. Been a fan for 10 years now, first time I’ve seen them live. So fucking good. Blew my already high expectations out of the water. Glad you seemed to enjoy the show as much as I did.
I was at this show too, missed ten56, and whilst I've enjoyed some of Novelists music before, I wasn't really expecting how insane they were live. I was blown away by Camille's vocals live, and the guitarists were as you said, phenomenal. I HAD to go to the merch desk show some support and spoke to Camille too who was so sweet. Did my best in French and I think she really appreciated the effort to chat in her home language. Didn't expect anything less from Northlane, second time seeing them and was blown away just like the first time. I love the kind of cyberpunk aesthetic Nic and Josh have, it matches their music well. And agree on your opinion about the Live Metal Scene. I was wearing a Void of Vision shirt and had at least half a dozen people chatting to me about their new album. I'm very introverted and go to these gigs alone and its really nice being able to talk to people about this niche of music that not many of my friends listen to.
I love this content! I would have lovedddd to see this show but I don’t even think they were coming to the US. It’s nice to know I can live vicariously through you 😂
So pleased to hear you enjoyed it! I’ve got a playlist on the channel where all my live concert reviews go so there are others there if you’re interested 💙
I used to love deathcore late 00's and early 2010, but have to admit listened so much in between metalcore music since, i struggled a bit to connecté that easy with it now... But would have love to see this 3 bands!! 😍
Steve O'G u really should check out the live version of Ne Obliviscaris's song "And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope" from their US tour. It is simply a top shelf example of 6 next level musicians in total unison playing some very technical yet tasteful compositions of pure prog metal. It's simply mind blowing. I guarantee it'll give u a chubby. The rhythm section goes full God mode, pure 🔥
I was at the hamburg show 2 days ago, they were all phenomenal. Unfortunately the music was so loud I could barely hear the vocals at times (which is not on the case on my phone recordings), but that might've been because I was right in front of the stage.
I was there too. I agree, the acoustics in the bunker were awful, probably because of the thick concrete walls. It’s not my favorite venue, but I still managed to enjoy the concert (with earplugs) 😉😂
The Sound really sucked in This venue. Novelists was by far the best Mixed. Northlane was for real just loud which was disappointing becaude the Arrangements and orchestrations are really Great.
Outside of this Northlane gig have there been many other shows you’ve been to recently where the show ended without an encore? Last time Northlane did a tour down here in Sydney (Australia) they just finished after Nova and I’ve noticed a lot of bands have been the same over the past year or so, ending with an extended set instead of going offstage and coming back for an encore. Curious to know if it’s become more common in other countries as well or if it’s just down here.
I’d say 95% of shows I’ve ever been to have ended with an encore. It happens on a rare occasion, but it’s super rare for headliners to just close the night after a continuous set.
Love all these bands. So sad I missed out on Northlane in the states. Flo and Pierre from novelists are insane at what they do. Just a question, but I'm assuming you're getting photo passes for all these shows? Or are you just camping out at the doors the day before lol
It depends! I’ve managed to get photo passes for this, The Plot In You, Radar Festivsl, and Ankor. Everything else is just iPhone in the crowd stuff. But yeah photopasses lead to the best close footage I have.
So the concert in Hamburg wasn‘t really enjoyable without proper earplugs. Novelists were by far the best mixed. Northlane was sadly just loud and noisy which was really disappointing because I was really excited to hear these well arranged songs live. Hopefully the Sound was more enjoyable in other venues.

Ahhh nice one! I am keen on eventually bagging myself some Void Of Vision merch. I thoroughly enjoyed their new album.
saw them in Berlin. fucking great visuals and aesthetics, awesome setlist. felt like a rave. brilliant sound.

Just saw them in Berlin, it was so cool!
I used to listen to Novelists in 2015. Didn't know they were still around
cant wait to see them today
I was at the Norwich show! Great lineup :D
Sounds like a fantastic show.

Deathcore can be wonderful!
