When Gulfstream is flying a flight test 'green stream' experimental plane, they are typically looking for extremely specific weather or airport conditions for running a particular set of test points that require very specific conditions. Many times this will lead to the test planes diverting to other airports if they can not find the conditions they were expecting at their planned destination airport. Sometimes they will have to fly basically all the way across the country just for a chance at finding an area that has the correct weather conditions for whatever test they are trying to run.
Really rare and awesome catch Alex :) Love the A350 style winglets on the G700 but is it just me who thinks that they are humongous on such a small airplane ? 😁
They can also get high-altitude airfield ratings by doing this, promptly. Calgary just happens to be sitting at 3,556 imperial feet(1,086 metric metres)
Probably deliberate. I suspect that even at ground idle at light weight the jet would end up at to high a taxi speed. To high a speed results in the need for frequent brake applications this heats up the brakes excessively. Running with one engine in reverse stops the problem. The other option would be to taxi in on one engine, but on a jet like this that might still result in to high a taxi speed.
Or rather no paint job whatsoever. lol. Wonder why they don't paint it white at least. Maybe they have ton's of sensors on it they frequently move and it would ruin the paint.
Man, Gulfstream make some beautiful looking aircraft.
And that’s when it’s stripped to its bare fuselage, imagine what’ll happen when the operators apply a decent paint job to them…
LOL at the little red carpet 4:40
For the guy in the blue jumpsuit! Gotta love their dedication to procedures!
Such a beautiful aircraft! Amazing footage!
She's beautiful even without colors!
Nice capturing 😍
beautiful plane, looks super big
Wow great catch,,you always find the cool stuff
Great Catch

beautiful plane ! 🙂
Nice
Nice!😀
Interesting the thrust reverses were deployed for a while
they use them while taxiing at light weights to prevent riding the brakes so much

With wich Camera and tripod were you fiming this?
Maybe that was what they wanted to do: fly somewhere then divert. Were their thrust reversers acting up or was that deliberate?

Maybe Calgary has AME that can handle certain issues they had
how do you get the atc recordings?
It's winglets look like the ones on the A350
The CRQ 400
I think the Global 7500 still looks better.
Worst paint job ever 😂

One day Alex I am going to buy one of them Gulfstreams and fly over and pick you up . We can take a wild long flight to Red Deer!!!
