I am a teenager, amd I am working on my first bigger project, which is a sweater with a mushrom on it. I kinda made the pattern up based on a sweater I already have, and it is knit in panels. I am now done with the back panel, which has a huge mushroom on it, I was weaving in the ends while watching this video!
I’m actually working on socks too as my long term project but I’m doing them on DPN’s as a beginner! I can’t believe I’m actually able to do that as I’ve only made 2 knit items so far. Not to toot my own horn or anything… 😊😇
Lovely to watch your "little" list of plans. I work on one knit project at a time - this works the best for me. It is hard to resist to cast on something else but this way I will have my finished item ready to wear, much faster than if I was working on several projects. Good luck :)
I appreciate that you are going through your cast ons. I feel like a lot of the time people are like new projects and new yarn and all of that stuff, but knitting is slow and we need to remember things take time.
As a mom of multiple kids it seems like my personal knitting is always on the back burner 😅 I have two kid sweaters, a vest, a pair of socks, and a kitten stuffy on my list of Christmas knits for my kids! One of my littles was born just after Christmas so she gets double knits during that season. Oh! And enjoy this time while you can dress them in handmade! My kids still love when I make them clothes but I am waiting for the day when they say no thanks. So I am soaking it all up now.
i will admit i am one of those people who is living vicariously through everyone else's autumn cast-ons! im such a slow knitter that if i cast on something new each season, i'd never finish anything. so currently i'm knitting a t-shirt in cotton/wool blend yarn, which will still get use i'm sure even during winter. and i had an old gift UFO that im back to working on, but it is laceweight stockinette in the round so will be off-and-on! enjoy your knitting - i love the panda jumper with that boucle, it has such a nice looking texture. hoping to get back to spinning this autumn personally, but my wheel needs some work first!
I have been watching your videos for awhile, and just cast on my very first knitting project this week! I've been crocheting most of my life but am finally getting into knitting
I usually make a plan at the beginning of each year for gift knitting as well as a wish list for myself. I injured my arm this summer and that threw a wrench in my plans. I have decided to really cut back on my knitting and heal...so no definite plans, except the Westknits MKAL. And I don't plan to finish that in 4 weeks either. I frogged several projects that I was unsure about and it was liberating! This fall I will just enjoy the time I can knit and not stress about finishing anything.
Highly recommend you keep going with the inclinations shawl. I knit on mine for around 5 months (over my kids‘ track and field season last year) and it‘s one of my favorite shawls to wear. I do love wearing something around my neck, so there is that bias, of course. Aside from my own use, I cannot tell you how many times those scarves and shawls have come in handy to add another layer around my kids when they got colder than expected. So you might find another unintended, but hugely beneficial use out of the finished object. 😊
I took a hiatus from knitting this summer because it was insanely hot, but now I've picked up the needles again and am racing to finish a baby blanket by the end of October for a friend. I've got socks for my brother on the needles that are for Christmas and I just bought the yarn for a Magnolia Bloom despite having another unfinished sweater...we will see if I can resist casting on. I make spectacular plans every year, and I almost never finish the whole list :)
Hello Bethany, I have made two hats. One was The Barley Hat by tin can knits. It's a free pattern on Ravelry. Then I made The Tilted Hat by Laura Barker. This pattern is in Interweave knits fall 2023 issue. I am now working on my unspun sweater. It is made using corridale roving that I dyed. Socks will be next on my list.😊
Last winter I thought I’d complete many projects this year but I only completed one sweater and a knitted collar. My knit wishlist is huge but I think I’m ok with my slow progress. I’m going to be knitting something spring summer this fall lol because I can give myself all the time I need. If I finish quicker, we’ll see but for now I’ll be starting one new project very soon 😊.
I definitely vote for the panda sweater!! I think it will be the sweetest for him to look back on. I am biased though because I love bears and I've always wanted to work with boucle yarn but have never found a pattern where it makes sense, whereas this pattern uses it perfectly!
Thank you for sharing your plans and your reflections around what can actually be achieved! This fall is the first time I made a „to knit“-list broken down by month, because I was overwhelmed by both my own plans and all the christmas gifts I wanted to achieve. So far it‘s been really illuminating to see what I can actually get done in a month. I had to move stuff to the next month multiple times and have cut stuff from the list as priorities changed. I‘m finding this process really helpful in order to learn what is a more „realistic“ plan for future seasons. 😊
I was planning on re-knitting a frogged cardigan, but instead got picked for a sweater test-knit. Plus socks. Not much for me and I really want to start something new or fix some thrummed slippers from last winter that I went wrong on. But first, I need to concentrate on the test.
I've been trying so hard to finish up previously started projects so, I'll be continuing this. And, I will be continuing to use up yarns from my stash. This kind of limits my projects in a way due to amounts and weights in said stash. Lol! I do have UFO's that need finishing and sweaters that need blocking and seaming... Any way it was fun catching up with you and I wish you speedy fingers so you can finish more of what you want to do. 💜✌️🧶
I got the knitted wild animal friends because of seeing your giraffe when you first showed it on your channel! The first animal I made was the tiger, and I love it! It was a fun one. :) I also relate to thinking I don’t have that much and it’s actually so many knitting plans 😂
Lately, been on a sweater kick. Had several 'holy grails' that I wanted to knit. Have actually finished 2 (Cardigan #7 and a ranunculus) and am now working on a Felex Cardigan. However! I do have several WIPs and my Fall plan is to finish up at least one so that I won't feel so guilty when I eyeball another sweater pattern. The best of luck to both of us. 😁😂
New watcher ✌🏻@KnittingArtisan sent me 💕. I started my year with a word, Purposeful, and really tried to stay with it for projects. Really enjoyed seeing your project line up 😊
I'm triing to finish the melange sweater from petiteknit and i choose a yellow mustard with a navy blue. And i have a sweater that i cast on in march, it's the black wolf sweater by Linka Neumann. Hope that i can finish them before hunting season in november 🙂
Hi! I have lots of things I want including fall knitting, but I've started the holiday gifts, haha. I've started the stuffed animals and the hats. I'm doing things I want along the side but I'd love a holiday sweater. Your inclinations shawl is just my favorite. I adore those colors! All the best- Kimberly
I have a mental list, does that count? 😂 Mostly knitting some socks for coworkers, but I just took a break to work on some mittens for my niece and nephew. Then a little Yoda hat for a baby that's arriving in January, and then I want to knit more socks and sweaters for the same niece and nephew. 😅
I have got my WIPs down to 4....but pent the afternoon sorting patterns and yarn to knit loads more things. I started my making a list each month this year of what I wanted to finish or start. Some times it was a success but mostly it wasn't. But knitting is supposed to be funx
I typically only work on 1 project at a time and I just cast on camisole no.9 even though it's not very fall like, I figured that I could always use it as a layering piece. Also finished the seaside sweater so thank you for the encouragement.
Great episode! Like you I will be continuing with my current WIPs ; panel knit sweater, shawl and 2 pairs socks (always have socks on the needles as their my comfort knit! ) But I also want to cast on a Saturday Shrug and a top down sweater ….haven’t decided which yet! I think the Panda Sweater would be so adorable on Arthur while he’s so little……it’s also gender neutral so you can use it for any future babes! ❤😂
I love a list Bethany......but sometimes if can be more overwhelming than inspiring!! There are too many lovely patterns and I'm a slow knitter 🥴 Plus I have to schedule some gift knits in for Xmas 😩 that said I have high hopes for knitting the gentle lopi and the chunky dahlia too ........ we'll see how that goes!! 😊
Another great video. Can you change your shawl into a cowl somehow? It might fit your lifestyle better and you could make a hat out of the rest of the yarn. Also check out the Anders sweater for Arthur I have always wanted to make one I just don’t know a small enough child.
I Love the short hair! im currently working on your balaclava project, your videos are so helpful!! Do you still use that interchangeable wood needle set? where do you buy your needles? Im trying to find a good interchangeable set and I was curious what you use. Thanks!
Bethany. I haven’t seen you in a while. I hope you and your family are happy and healthy. ❤
You can always modify a panel sweater to have the largest part as round-knit tube, if that's a big issue.

Congratulations! I only just started to knit socks this year, also, so I understand the excitement. 😊

love that!

I like shawls for car seat blankets in winter! Maybe your shawl could be used for that!?

Hi! What is the sweater pattern you are wearing ? Also what yarn shops do you recommend in Brussels ?

I'm currently trying to finish up some Christmas socks and I plan on working on gifts for Christmas ☺️ hoping to make my grandma some mittens!

It’d be so sweet if you did the panda sweater and made a matching panda stuffy for Author!

If the other men’s sweater doesn’t work out, the professor pullover by Claire Jackson (perfectly knotted) has than stripe vibe and is unisex

Same. I think I'd feel more stressful if I had more than one WIP
idk how you guys do it! I need at least 2, I think

All very lovely!!!!
Finishing up the collar on my husband's Zipper Sweater, hoping to have it completed for Christmas.

Mohair circular yoke sweater color is just so perfect for you
I totally know what you mean about planning too many projects lol
Did you mention what you’re wearing? Very pretty.
Hi :) can you please link the pattern or designer for the panda sweater? I am obsessed and would love to make it. Thank you!!
I started my fall knitting in august 😂 working on my champagne cardigan by Petiteknit
I Love the short hair! im currently working on your balaclava project, your videos are so helpful!! Do you still use that interchangeable wood needle set? where do you buy your needles? Im trying to find a good interchangeable set and I was curious what you use. Thanks!
I have a lot of wips and plans, but my arms started hurting, muscles of my forearms 😢
Why the sock tube? How will it turn into socks at the end? So confused 😂
Lol idk I’ll update you
I personally do not like to plan out my knitting. I see a pattern that I like and want to knit and just go for it.
Can you explain how a sock tube works? Just curious as a newish knitter!
LOL I'm going to be honest I have no idea. I've never done this before! I'm going to look up the steps when I'm done.
@@WellLovedKnits haha I totally relate to that workflow 😄👍
My plans: only one bigger project and I will knit a lot of socks.
G'day from Australia. Why not do a Father -Son Sweater - I love seeing little people dressed like their parents. This would be so sweet for Christmas
