It's a great bike for sure. I've had my eye on it for a few months now. If you notice it's basically the same bike as the Cyrusher Trax Hybrid but without the rear suspention and Kenda tyres which is over a grand more.

@e-VRC well a legal 500w with a 750w+ peak output would definitely have its advantages.

I suggest a review of the Cyrusher Kommoda step thru. Rated (and labeled) at 250w continuous output and 15.5 mph with a dis-connectable restrictor plug inside the frame , but with a torquey motor (probably a down rated 80nm 750w unit), hydraulic brakes, 20” phat tyres, rear light with brake light built in and full suspension. Mud guards and a robust carrier rack with a thumb throttle you can fit, provided in the box. Priced at currently £1500. I’d like to see a Sandy hill run with it. Great channel👍.

Yeah it looks a good bike. Cyrusher have contacted me a few times about sending a bike but then they tell me they're out of stock. Most likely they contacted a load of RUclipsrs and they got enough with more subscribers they decided not to send one.

The motor output restrictions law is being addressed in parliament as I message, hopefully they allow the upgrade to 500w as I travel to work via a non e bike (180miles) and would go battery if the speed was safe to travel on roads with other vehicle users as currently I stay off roads where possible, cycle routes, tow paths and general rights of way for cycling, good looking machine, too heavy for my style of riding, great content, keep up the good work 👍

Second question (apologies) the company don’t appear to have a UK retailer, so I have to order on line only. I am apprehensive as I am new to E bikes so can’t test ride or view one, reliant on reviews like yours. Are Crazy Bird a reputable company in the E bike world?

I normally prefer a high step for strength, but I would not mind the step through version of this one. Range will be excellent with that battery. I consider a throttle to be a safety device, and it has literally saved my life from a drunk driver careening through a parking lot. The extra power for hill climbing is nice. Trying to regulate speed by limiting power is not the best method, and e-bikes govern their speed with electronic limiters anyways. I use a mode switch on my bike, so it is a 100% class 2 e-bike according to US regulations, but also has a moped and offroad modes. Do I feel bad about the ability to switch modes? Nope! Not when OEM e-bikes do it and advertise 2,000 and 3,000 watt power levels in the US. Even Rad Power Bikes just added selectable modes so you can make the bike class 1, 2, or 3 on a whim, but at least Rad is legal in each class. Thanks for the video!

It looks like a Himiway Zebra, which is what I'm probably about to buy here in the UK.
Ultimately, what I'm after is a railway line capable E-bike with the longest battery range possible, I'll mostly be riding in eco mode.
Fat tyres will negate the need for suspension, although front suspension will be handy so why not.

@@e-VRC not with this type of bike, no. By railway line I meant that this type of bike will be used to ride on the old disused railway tracks where I live, of which there are plenty. Sorry for the confusion 🙂
I have many other, non electric bikes that I use for different riding disciplines. I've fancied both a fat-bike and an electric bike for some time now and thought "why not get a fat electric bike", and I would use it for long days out, riding from my house with my picnic lunch on fairly easy terrain.
I currently use my gravel bike for this and regularly cycle 50 miles off-road no bother, hence the necessity for an Ebike to have the longest range possible, in mostly Eco mode, just for those days when I feel a bit tired but still want to go out.

I think it poses an interesting question though since if you had an accident with a 125 moped, do you think you wouldn't be insured since the moped/125 were restricted as many are and capable of going faster if derestricted?

I asked Crazy Bird that very question, their answer was that the 250W version does have a 750W motor but with the connector it is limited to 250W and abides by the UK regulations. They also stated that the bike comes with CE certification, 250W stickers on the bike and states 250W on the invoice.
I believe that legally, the above should cover me, I am not a lawyer, nor do I pretend to be one, so obviously I may be wrong.
I have not yet purchased the bike, but I am intending to do so, unless I see another ebike that seems more appealing this week.

So, peak power can be greater, this is why 750W peak power motor is fine.

If You derestrict speed - motor power can exceed 250W on continous usage, and will be illegal (and speed as well)
