I am from India and I have noticed that victims that get raped are afraid to go to the Police because they'll be questioned about how the rape happened and degrading statements will be made etc this happens even in India because the defense lawyers ask very embarrassing and degrading questions to the victims so here too they prefer not to report rape to the law. Its very sad what a lady has to go through.

But was this planned? It turned out in her favor, but she didn't push him. However, she could have contacted staff for someone to find him before it was too late. She didn't receive any money from him or his family, only the ship's settlement.
