I love this series. I cannot believe it was a real documentary. There was no acting or scripts. I tried to apply to the company, but they never called me back.
I'd say Dwight secretly enjoyed being pranked by Jim. The creator of the doom's day device, and the bluffer of the bugging device is far more intelligent than just fall prey to pranks like the red wire. Maybe, he was cunning enough to understand Jim was wasting time on pranks while he was repeatedly getting the salesman of the year award. Or maybe, considering they became great friends at the end, he liked that Jim would consider him a 'prank-worthy' friend.
"Or maybe, considering they became great friends at the end, he liked that Jim would consider him a 'prank-worthy' friend." I think your right about that. In the episode where Jim's brothers take him and Pam out to dinner and at their wedding we get to see a little bit of Jim's family dynamic. This dynamic suggests that pranks seem to be away of expressing their love for one another. Dwight might not have figured this out at the beginning of the show (just going by how many complaints he makes about Jim) but later on I think he does and I think he tries to reciprocate that by pranking Jim back. It takes them a bit but despite being two people very different people they form a very strong friendship
