On some real shit too! I spent almost half of high school 5-6 years ago singing the song and remembering the lyrics and the "your weapon is guilt" part. One of my most favorite song from my most favorite album and it is legitimately underrated.
People want the footage from the shows released, but I understand why the band doesn't want to. In the pictures and bootlegs, Layne did not look well. He seemed to barely move and looked like he weighed about 100lbs. Maybe releasing just the audio would be better. Just my thought.
Layne missed a few lyrics here and there but goddamn he looked so cool. I'd say it was his coolest look. Slick as f**k ! .. even tho he wasn't at his strongest. Love him

Steven Jones very well said! Its a known fact by some people, like me, that prolonged heroin/crack addiction slurs and mumbles your speech. You sound "gummy" meaning like hes singing with no teeth. I think his painful addicted voice was actually very good duting this period. which is ironic considering this period was his rock bottom

Honestly I agree to a certain extent, he had not given up on music tho just alice in chains. He made music with jessie holt in 97 and had a song called daily bread he was working on in 97-98
Funnest song to play and sing on guitar for me. Such a underrated and unknown song and that’s a shame. Especially when you break the lyrics down. Not just an expression for drug use and everything that comes with it. But I personally think Laynes voice is perfectly matched with the expression and soul that this song has. I prefer the MTV unplugged version of it but this one is pretty good

the photo sadly describes his struggles. it seems that there’s bandages covering his arms, he was so thin and pale, and lost some of his singing capabilities. still, he delivers a powerful voice that could even pass certain high octaves that most could never accomplish. the scream he gives in the same live performance while singing them bones is chilling, yet amazing. rest in peace Mr. Staley, we all miss you ♥️
