From a watch enthusiast (including a mechanical watch collector) perspective....I do think that this, the 2100 and 3000 series are the best casio series out there with simple design but highly useful features....not to mention the classic look....the affordable price is just bonus...The way I see, compare to most gshock series, I really fall for these... Just had them in my hand, and somehow they become my favorite among my other collections...
I had 4 Royales and tried to love them but I couldn't "Bond" with them. Got one of these on a bracelet, it feels so much better, makes me smile and it reminds me of an Astronaut watch in a sci-fi movie.
this watch is so durable I've bumped into things so many times with mines and still has no scratches or any damage
Already wearing my AE-1000 today. Picked mine up when my daughter went to Bulgaria on a missions trip to. So I could keep track of her time. 👍🏼

The AE-xxxx watches are all side-lit. The AE-1000, 1100, 2000 and 2100 have single bulbs. The AE-1200, 1300, 1400 and 3000 have twin bulbs.
If you can double the price, the massive 55 mm ae3000 Is right up your alley though for most people the 43 mm ae1000 is already plenty and is gentler on the wallet.
My World Time was a great travel watch to Austraila. Managed multiple timezones easily.

I swapped the silver bracelet from a silver square case Royale with the orange strap of the AE1000. The AE1000 looks great with silver metal bracelet and the square Royale looks great with the orange strap. Makes me happy.

@@user-bl1zt9xg7f Switched it back. I get bored. I did swap out to a silicone strap on to the AE 1000. Looks and feels great. Walmart silicone straps are comfy.

To get the scratches off the acrylic crystal use a microfibre towel and Mother Mag Wheel Aluminum polish. Works great. May take a few minutes but you will be pleased
All I need is an added call notification and music control with this model rather than any smart watches.

why they got cheap on the backlight i don't understand? it's not a fancy feature anyway, even the cheapest knockoff watches have that. most gshock's don't have backlight either and they're much more expensive.

The illumination is definitely not as bright as demonstrated in the video. It's rather dim and makes it rather hard to read.
Mine isn't quite as bright as his, but it is close. You must have gotten a dud.

As of today (4-29-2021), the orange strap 4BV is only $4 on Amazon. Just got mine and came here to make sure I got my money’s worth ; p
I only see it for 24.95. Maybe they changed it but send me a link if you can! Four dollars?!
@@john-carlosynostroza yeah, I checked back an hour after I ordered mine to get one for a friend and the $4 ones were sold out, and they are back to 24.95. I think if you add it to your cart and use the “save it for later” option, you will get price change updates if it ever happens again.

My local Walmart had the olive green version of these on sale for $5. My brother and I each picked one up.

@@immysaiyed2660 No they were not fake. The regular price for the watch at my Walmart is around $18 and they had the olive green version on clearance for $5.
@@sleepinglysithia cool that's extremely lucky, that's so amazing here in the UK battery change costs more than 50 pounds for even 15 pound watch, and Wallmart stocks crappy brands some of them don't even have brand yet alone being a Quartz.
