I love how most parents don't understand that what they are asking in these situations is for the kid to put themselves in danger for the benefit of them personally seeing to their safety.

@@emotionalfriendone43 No, I actually don't. That was sarcasm. I have known parents and guardians who actually have done this to my friends before... forcing them out of already safe areas during ice storms and tornado watches because they were "worried" about them and wanted them to come sit at home so they could physically verify their safety. So my friends had to go out into the primary danger and brave it's terrors in order to make it home and become officially "safe" again. My parents were more logical, they always told me that as long as I was safe that I should stay where I was until the danger was over.

I love how darias dad doesn't realise that her mom is 100% right in the fact that he shouldn't put himself in danger when daria was at school and that's probably the safest place you could be in this situation, besides like a legit shelter. It was just bad luck that they were on the roof.

Lower middle class family? Hellens like a lawyer and Jake has a Lexus. They live in a mcmansion. What screams lower middle class about that? These were the 6 figure income earners back then so assume they would be pulling in around 200k+ household income today

It reminds me of Malcom, where Hall's family is millionaires and even Hall and Lois lived in a mansion until, because of Francis, they had to go live in a very small house.
@@bibliopelicomic Dude, he worries of expenses as he worries for anything, but his family himself included easily spend money. Quinn buys a shitton of clothes on his parent’s cards. Daria goes and gets pizza and skulls. They have all the markers of solidly middle class to upper middle class. The parents both have solid white collar jobs. The whole town is fairly bougie- with Jane’s whole family affording to be artists.

It's a shame, the original episode aired with another version of the opening to fit the musical theme. Unfortunately that got replaced with the standard opening in the DVD cut for some reason.
