wise thinking, Hanafi school is also whats practised in Bosnia, which is important for Slavic muslims, though there is no need to be rigid about it, sisnce we, the ordinary people cannot interpret the teachings of the Prophet s.a.w. so we have to benefit from the explanations of the four islamic schools... may Allah bless your efforts ..
Brother Jan, Mazhabs came when the Muslims grew. In your case, you can always be flexible. So don't make it hard on yourself. As long as your connection is sincere with Allah swt. I am Hanafi but if I don't find any space (clean space), I pray sitting.
From my limited knowledge,as muslims in modern era, we actually based on practicality in terms of choosing which madzhab to follow. For instance, muslims could opt to practise two different madhab for a particular situation based on practicality and necessity in where we live and where we are. For instance, on a plane, we could pray sitting down and combine two prayers into one and we reckon renewing our prayers (which we think incomplete) once we landed, uppn ariving at our destination. Allah made Islam easy for Him servants so we practise according to Quran and Sunnah and follow our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) teachings. Allah would never burden a soul beyond what it can bear. Allah knows best.
The prophet pbuh and a lot of sahaba were not poor, it's just that they used to give almost everything they have to charity that sometimes they have nothing to eat and be forced to fast... Abu bakr, Omar as khalifa, his son, salman al farisi ...a lot of them have stories of giving immediately whatever they get every month
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that some people from amongst the Companions of the Apostle (ﷺ) came to him and said: Verily we perceive in our minds that which every one of us considers it too grave to express. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Do you really perceive it? They said: Yes. Upon this he remarked: That is the faith manifest. [Sahih Muslim: 132]
"And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward." You do good for the sake of Allah but ultimately you do good to your future self in the hereafter, because Allah will reward you.
I'm a born muslim and I also find madhabs confusing my son is being taught to pray differently to me at arabic school I have to learn the difference myself to educate him further.
18:17 so the iman of Abu Bakr (r.a.) and you or me is the same? This statement is said by ‘Umar with a good chain of narrators, and it is reported by Al-Bayhaqi: “Were the faith of Abu Bakr to be weighed on one side of a scale and the faith of the people around the whole world on the other side, the faith of Abu Bakr would outweigh the faith of all the people around the world.”
what's the point of doing good deeds then? what's the point of different levels in Jannah? I advise you brother to be aware of the beliefs of the Murji'ah which the salaf warned against. You can find statements of the salaf that completely contradict this claim in all of the books of the salaf almost, with the chain of narrations. They all say : Imaan is belief of the heart, saying it with the tongue, and doing actions with your limbs. It increases with good deeds and decreases with bad deeds. Look up for example imam al-Lalekai's Sharh Usul al-I'tiqad Ahlissunnati wal-Jamaah , or look up any other classical text from salaf. The first one who came with this is imam Abu Hanifah's teacher, Hammad ibn Abi Sulayman and he was harshly critised for it. So you shouldn't follow their mistakes, even though they were pious people known for their piety and knowledge, but unfortunately even though they had that, they introducted a really dangerous innovation into the ummah, which later went to even more extremes regarding this topic, such as the Irja of Jahmiyyah and others So, I advise you my brother to go back to the statements of salaf regarding this and other topics. Allah knows best.
The true believers are only those whose hearts tremble at the remembrance of Allah, whose faith increases when His revelations are recited to them, and who put their trust in their Lord. (Al-Anfaal) Whenever a surah is revealed, some of them ask mockingly, “Which of you has this increased in faith?” As for the believers, it has increased them in Imaan, and they rejoice. (at-Tawbah) He is the One Who sent down serenity upon the hearts of the believers so that they may increase even more in their faith. (al-Fath) Al-Bukhaaree said, “I met more than one thousand men from the scholars in different regions, and I did not see a single one of them differ in that the Imaan is speech and action; that it increases and decreases.” (Ibn Hajr mentioned this in Fathul-Bari) Ash-Shaafi’ee said, “Imaan is speech and action; it increases and decreases.” (Abu Nuaym mentioned this in Hilyah) Ahmad ibn Hanbal said while mentioning a number of his held beliefs, “Imaan is speech and action; it increases and decreases.” Then he mentioned some issues after which he said, “This is what the righteous predecessors of the scholars of all the lands have agreed upon.” (Manaqib al-Imam Ahmad)
I think I know what you think about the future of the Muslim minorities in your country. Perhaps you will benefit from sharing your challenges with the Nordic Muslim Channel and theDr. Abdullah As-Sueidi Channel, because I think they face the same difficulties that you face, and perhaps you will find ideas from them in developing the Muslim minorities in your country through Dawah. I think the biggest challenges are translating the best and most important books on the evidence of the prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and explaining what Islam is, as well as books specialized in responding to suspicions and lies about Islam and Muslims. Jan, alkhutbah is one of the important means of Dawah not only for worshipers, but think that perhaps hundreds or even thousands of your people will see it on social media. Make your focus on the growth of Muslims from your country, because I noticed, for example, that the mosques in Korea are mostly made up of non-Koreans, so a Korean may find himself strange entering these mosques as if they are reserved for foreigners.
