It would be useful had I known that it takes a full 2 minutes for the fire to actually start after pressing the "on" button. It would have saved me a service call. Otherwise, all of this information is very very useful - thank you!

It took us a while(2 years) to understand that the thermostat function needs a special "on" selection after the temperature is set. I think this could be better explained in the next video. Even the sales rep could not explain and figure out how it works.
Thanks! it looks like have a problem with remote pairing with my RC300 IntelliFire™ Plus Wireless Remote. Is it possible I have a faulty Control Module (2166-347)?
I do hvac for a living. And let me just say this is a nice fireplace. And the remote isn't too bad. My only complaint is that when using the thermostat function the room temperature will lag. Say for example. The fireplace shut off reaching desired temperature. 65° set point and 65 degrees room temp. Then I'll go over feeling like it's too cold I will turn it up to 67. Then suddenly the room temperature also goes up to 67 and doesn't turn on. Another thing I notice is if I go to bed setting it to 63 for example. I'll get up in the morning it shows the thermostat satisfied at 63. Then I will hit a button and it drops to 60 degrees room temp. Then the fireplace kicks on a minute later. When possible I find it better just to use the timer feature.
I can’t get the lock mode to turn off on my remote. Please help it’s this exact remote control
Silly question, is it possible to run the flame without heat being pushed out?
When it comes to changing batteries, in either the remote or firebox, does it require re-pairing the box and remote?
My unit varies a full 8 degrees with thermostat--set for 68--goes off at 72--wont turn on till 64 degrees. not adequate. is there a way to adjust the range? remote also does not show actual room temp until you you hit on button (this is while unit if functioning)
The problem with mine since new in 2011 has been difficulty in turning the fireplace off (everything else works fine). Sometimes it will turn off on the first press of the power button, but it typically takes several attempts to turn off--it's completely random, sometimes up to half an hour or so. I've addressed the problem with the company I purchased it from, and the only suggestion they've ever had was to reset or change batteries--neither of which helps. Is this a common flaw that cannot be fixed?
The pilot light goes off when I turn the fireplace off even though I have the pilot in the on position on the remote. I would like the pilot light to stay on.
Could you tell me why or in what conditions I should use the constant pilot function?
I believe that if you live in a really cold climate, you might want the pilot on at all times to keep the internal mechanisms a little bit warm. I don't use it in Massachusetts.
Thanks for reaching out to us +William Barlow. Please be more specific in your request and we are happy to assist you. This video outlines how to use the Heat & Glo® RC300 IntelliFire™ Plus Wireless Remote. Thanks for reaching out to us William.
The remote has never worked!?!?!
Has the remote ever stopped working for any reason while the fireplace is running? How can you turn the fireplace off if the remote fails to shut it off?
When I go to thermo function and turn it on the entire display just blinks. I can set room temperature but it only shows every 4°!?! For instance, if it’s at 62 and I want to get it to 68 when turning temp up I won’t know what I’m at until 66. I have to then guess when I’m at 68. Is something wrong with the remote or thermostat of fireplace?
Can you explain why when I turn on the fireplace by remote, it will light but only will run about 30 seconds and then it turns off and kicks the remote switch on the module. ???
I cannot get my remote to function. Only Aux 1 on indicated. It won't power on and cannot get it to communicate with the fireplace.
My 14 year old remote is doing this. I believe on/off button is malfunctioning. Cannot go from Off to On. I have only 2 Aux selections and Pilot. Considering a purchase of a new remote on Amazon for about $100 in Dec 2024.
If my fan icon doesn’t light up does it mean there is no fan in the fireplace?
How do I take the cold lock off my remote!!!
Menu + Up buttons at the same time
@@pierredeprez1456I tried this multiple times and it’s not working. Idk what else to do? It’s strictly the lock
My only problem is that if you get the thermostat feature set up, then turn off the fireplace using the remote on/off button, you have to set up the thermostat feature all over again. It doesn't remember that you wanted to use the thermostat mode instead of simply turning the fireplace on and off. That wouldn't be all that bad, except that there are so many steps to enable thermostat mode. You have to : (1) turn on the remote, (2) press the menu button to get the menu items showing, (3) press the down arrow once to highlight the thermostat setting, (4) press Select to enter the thermostat mode, (5) press the up arrow to turn thermostat mode from off to on (it defaults to off), (6) press "select" to finish turning the on/off mode, (7?) maybe press the up/down arrows to adjust the temperature but it remembers the previous setting so you don't have to do that, (7) press "select" to confirm the temperature setting.
And the bad part is that after turning the thermostat off which I do every night, when I turn it back on the next morning the thermostat mode is OFF and I have to do all of those steps over again.
I'm getting pretty fast at it, but that's a lot of button presses to do and no one else in the family can remember it since I'm mostly the one who does it.
It would be really nice if you could turn the remote off and on and have it remember that you wanted to use thermostat mode. The default mode (when not in thermostat mode) simply turns the fireplace on until you turn it off, heating the room up way high if you're not careful.
The only other choice I see is that I can turn the temperature way down at night, then back up in the morning. But I really don't want it coming on when I'm asleep in a distant room. At least that's easy to do: when you simply press the up/down buttons without pressing the menu button first, then the up/down buttons simply change the set temperature. But turning the unit off and back on would make a lot more sense if it worked.
thought it would be more in depth information and how to turn lights on and off.
I think it's a matter of turning "aux 1" on or off.
our remote seems to be working, changed batteries, but it doesn't seem to talk to the fireplace. The pilot light is on, the remote beeps and acts like it should work but the gas fireplace won't have a flame. Troubleshoot suggestions?
I have and have had the same problem. Reset does not always correct the problem. I had a service call after year one of the units installation. It worked until the next season. Today, I was once again trying to get the firelogs to flame, the pilot comes on and times out after ~ 30 seconds. This time I removed the glass and before the pilot timed out, I blew on it, the logs then flamed. I now wonder if the piece that flames the log need periodid cleaning? If it does, how should it be done? Any help would be appreciated.
Ater re-filling with gas and resetting the receiver, the pilot sparks but the fireplace will not light up. I have tried several settings on the remote transmitter, but to no avail. Please help...
You say that the pilot sparks. Does the pilot flame start burning after about 5 to 30 seconds? If so, then yes there is some issue with the remote or the fireplace control box. If the pilot flame never starts, then the issue is probably not getting gas to the pilot.
I was looking for help with my remote. The remote reads 64 degrees when the room is actually 68 degrees
Daniel F Magrino Try switching the batteries and resetting the remote. ruclips.net/video/-qG6TMXxoIM/видео.html
Mine doesn't work very well at all. Flame won't adjust. The thermostat is so far off as to be useless. Moreover it is an incredible pita to use. It does operate the fan efficiently. Major disappointment.
Am I correct that if the "Child Lock" is on, no other features can be used, like starting the fireplace? And if that is correct, how do you know if the "Child Lock" is Off? Thanks!
If the child lock is on, you'll see a little icon of a padlock on the screen and nothing else or very little else.
@@ProfAmesBCdo you know how to turn it off? I’ve tried everything like holding the menu and up button simultaneously, holding the up and down button simultaneously but nothing is working and I put fresh batteries in.
@@SiriusEmpress7 Holding menu and up button simultaneously for 3 seconds turns child lock on. Doing exactly the same thing again (menu & up together for 3 seconds) turns it back off for me. I see from your message that you tried that. It works for me, I don't know why it doesn't work for you. (You're pressing menu & up buttons together: pressing them both at the same time, right?).
What kind of cleaner did he use at first
A simple on and off instruction would be nice.
What is my issue if on my remote i do not have pilot light ??
My remote won’t stop blinking. Fire is on. Changed batteries, took batteries out for a few minutes and put back in and still blinking…. Can’t turn off fire. Help
whatever you do...do not drop the remote..not even a off a table..the window will stop the display and the remote will function for on and off but you will not be able to change the settings...heat and glo fix is buy a new remote for $200 and another $185 for them to come and set up the new remote....really poor service suggestion
I have this remote personally and the reception is very poor compared to our old Heat n Glo insert. If the remote isn’t held at the perfect angle it won’t work. Therefore the thermostat feature is useless.
How do I go from c to f
There's a switch for this, inside the remote under the battery cover.
I tried to reset this was as per the video and the remote still doesn’t work.
My fan doesn't work what do I do
Fireplace installed several years ago-never used. Just put in new batteries-will not turn on!?!?
"Just put in new batteries" - do you mean in the remote, or in the fireplace battery backup holder? I'm assuming you meant in the remote itself. If it won't turn on, the most likely issue is that the control box inside the fireplace is set to "off" or "manual". It needs to be in the "remote" position to use the remote control.
will the fireplace shut off when it reaches the set temperature?
Yes, but according to the manual it will first lower the flame height as the desired temp is reached. Mine then shuts the flame off entirely when the room temperature reaches 2 degrees more than the set temperature. When the room cools back down to the set temperature (or maybe a little below, I don't remember) then the fireplace will start burning again.
My remote won’t work at alll
Very confusing and unreliable
Customer Service is lacking.
Video suck, remote sucks, fireplace suck. My fireplace is constantly coming on at random times and there's no reasonable explanation as to why. This video, was not helpful - how TF you give a 2 minute tutorial with saying "there's more" at the end.
opps theres more sorry

This product sucks or the installation was shitty because I use it every day and it takes up to 20 mins to turn on. Typically our guests at the hotel want it on, we turn it on wait 10 minutes sometimes it comes on, other times not. It has a 12 min delay from start to stop times, this makes it 12 + 7 for the delayed response time for a total of 19 minutes. Guests will stare at you like your an imbecile and you can’t do anything but wait.
Mine doesn't have this problem. I turn it on, and the flame starts up high within about 30 seconds. When I turn it on, the sparker starts trying to light the pilot immediately. The pilot lights within about 10 seconds. That needs to burn for a while before the full fireplace flame begins which takes about another 20 seconds.
@@ProfAmesBC that’s definitely not the case for ours. I’m assuming it was installed incorrectly
