பொங்கல் திருவிழாவின் போது காஞ்சி காமாட்சி அம்மன் கோவிலில் கொண்டாடப்படும் காய் கானு உற்சவம், விவசாய தெய்வங்களின் வழிபாட்டைக் குறிக்கிறது, இது அறுவடையின் கலாச்சார பாராட்டை பிரதிபலிக்கிறது. இந்த திருவிழா இயற்கை மற்றும் அது கொண்டு வரும் செழிப்புக்கு நன்றியுணர்வை வலியுறுத்துகிறது, இது பொங்கல் கொண்டாட்டத்தின் சாராம்சத்துடன் ஒத்துப்போகிறது, இது சூரியக் கடவுளை மதிக்கவும் விவசாய மிகுதியை மேம்படுத்தவும் அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த நேரத்தில் செய்யப்படும் சடங்குகள் சமூக உணர்வை வளர்க்கின்றன மற்றும் பாரம்பரிய நடைமுறைகளை வலுப்படுத்துகின்றன.
