MAKE UP FOR EVER Watertone Skin Perfecting Fresh Foundation: Normal/Dry Skin Review (Y225)

- I've always loved Face and Body foundations for their flexible, buildable coverage, transfer-resistance, and lightweight natural finish.
#MAKEUPFOREVER used to make my fave Face and Body formula of all time, but discontinued it a few years ago when they replaced it with Water Blend, which I was not nearly as in love with.
This year, they've updated the formula again and launched #Watertone which is designed to be great for sensitive or even acne-prone and #oilyskins while being transfer-proof (great under masks).
Is this the spiritual successor to the old Face and Body? We'll find out!
Shade provided: Y225 (I would usually pick Y235 or Y245 and light tint foundations are where I would go with the slightly deeper shade if you are between 2 colors, as it will correct and conceal better withou being orange or muddy.)

Time stamps in the description as always! (This is a longer vid!) My fave Make Up For Ever liquid foundation is still Reboot. As for this one, you’re gonna have to watch to see what I think about it!
ok but your bare skin... are you kidding me? they look flawless!
LOL thank you so much for the compliment sweetie! (All those retinoids in my skincare better do SOMETHING hahahaha.)
Thanks for your review! I wish MUFE would stop messing with their water foundations - face and body was the best 😩
Totally!! So glad I found someone who used and loved the old Face and Body too!!
It is a tint so I didn't expect much coverage...however even for a tint the coverage is extremely minimal. It did even out your skin and added a nice lustre to it - which looks very nice I must say. I usually wear very minimal coverage with concealer for additional spot concealing on a day-to-day basis so I think I might actually try this. Seems like a daily driver product, but not for everyone for sure. Makes me think of the Glossier Skin Tint actually. Have you ever tried that? And I think this would pair well with their matte velvet powder foundation for extra coverage. I was thinking of trying Y225 so great to see that that's the shade you got! P.S - Lovin the necklace (or is it part of the top?), giving some major Cleopatra vibes ✨💖
Thx for this review I’ll just stick to their Reboot foundation!!
This foundation is a disappointment, the moment water touched my face it slid off light paint. I have combination skin but I don’t get acne and this foundation gave me acne on my cheeks . I was looking for the water-blend as it was waterproof but this one just isn’t it.
Thanks Candice for the review~ i personally don't know how to feel about spending $60+ on something that doesn't "appear" on my face. Especially now that we're always wearing masks..
Hahaha I totally know what you mean... I would have liked it more if it was buildable/customisable but I just couldn’t build it up!
Only 20 shades available?! :(
Yeah sadly. I understand the rationale cos the shades are super forgiving and blend in even when you are 1-2 shades off so it may not make sense to have 40 shades, but having 6 shades locally in Singapore is - I don’t even know where to begin...
Is it time to recommend lip colors for hot weather ?😂
Haha, I will try to come up with a list! I'm hearing from a lot of people that they are not bothering with lipsticks now that many countries have mandatory/recommended mask wearing though, so I'm not sure how relevant it is to everyone!
