@Van Dagylon Nago and Slayer are two different Arctypes. Slayer is a Bruiser (like Azrael from Blazblue) while Nago is a high pressure character with a resource to manage (like Susano'o from Blazblue)

So I'm not the only one that started playing Deejay because he got a Dandy Step eh ? Also you forgot to mention that both a a big single hit super that destroys healthbars on counterhit.

SF devs naturally play all 2d fgs for inspiration. That's why SF has ideas from KOF, MK, GG, etc. And same for other companies. KOF has ideas from SF and GG too. And GGST took the cutscene battle intros from MK for example. Everyone takes things from each other.

I started practicing Muay Thai and Slayer's 5K became really funny to me because I kick exactly like him without the exagerrated dandyness, might just pick up Dee Jay in the older games cause of this video.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news..but Dee Jay is way worse, and way lamer in the older games.
All the Slayer-ey stuff is new to this game, sadly. But hey, it's a massive glow up for the man.
I thought Dee Jay was really good in 2, but I never played and couldn't say personally.

@@LucidButtonMasher from what I've heard, he was just outclassed in that game. Guile was a better charge zoner, Boxer and Dictator were better charge rushdowns.

Let’s just say both characters copied each other’s moves and call it a day. DJ has most of the normal moves in the game super street fighter 2 way back in 1996. DJ also got the anti-air triple kick in super street fighter two turbo either in 97 or 98. Either way we have 2 fun characters in two different games.
