It's wild how for like 200 chapters the Hunter Association is almost pure plot device that feels like it's there to help shore up the initial 'pitch' of the story but that has precious few concrete worldbuilding details... and then suddenly there's a whole arc diving deep into its politics, like "yeah yknow, the whole Temp Hunter issue that's a big controversy, everyone knows about that, you got your head in the sand??!" And we're like I'm sorry I just got done crying about a bug man and I think the main character's plot armor might have broke? Can I help you??

There's other towers and a whole world outside the tower and the tower our characters are in is already much bigger then our own world each floor is like it's own world actually
I think the series is on chapter 600+ now and theyre only on like floor 50 out of 130 known floors + unknown floors, then the whole world outside the tower,
We've only seen 3 out of 10 family heads and baam Is already fighting high rangers to stalemates and has damaged a few like Kallavan , and even gave white the legendary slayer a run for his money
Tower of god is one of the few series that's world building is similar to one piece except one piece is moving at a jjk esque pace now

Bushidora was not a member of Netero's pure paladin squad, he was a member of a "revived" pure paladin squad, which as far as we know had none of the original members. Morel made a point out of this when he chastised the use of the name when the members were so weak.
The original squad consisted of Netero and presumably his fight buddies, It is a safeish bet that Zigg Zoldyck and Linne Horsdoeuvre were also members as they joined Netero for his romp in the DC.

The hunter organization is my favorite fictional gathering of people with talent because it's not integral to the plot at all. We didn't have 5 arcs of Gon training in it or 6 movies looking at you Harry Potter. We didn't get to meet every single person and have every facet of the org shown to us because it really didn't matter to the stories of our protags.
Morel is a multifaceted badass.
But can Netero be awarded a star postmortem, because he saved humanity from the chimera-ants?

@@kylek9337 sure, to the outside world, and some details were hidden, but within the Hunter Association it’s public knowledge Netero went on a mission to defeat the king and the royal guards, managed to kill the king and died in the process. Even Illumi became aware of it, and he’s not even particularly interested in the Association’s affairs. If Morel was recommended to three stars thanks to his contribution to the ants extermination mission and the palace invasion mission, why would it be impossible for Netero to get a star or multiple post-mortem.
I think the star system having nothing to do with combative power is really adding depth to the meaning of a hunter, as a hunter is someone who seeks something which could be anything, the need to learn nen and be able to defend themselves is a bare minimum to be one because the hxh universe is a very very dangerous place, it's also makes sense that Netero has no single star as his only goal in life is to become the strongest which benefits him only (directly at least)
I like to imagine enhancers to have the least amount of stars because they are determined to achieve a single goal and are very selfish and simple minded but that's just a funny thought for me
Many people forget that hunters are not always looking for combat or abilities to fight or be the most powerful
Many hunters create abilities that fit their occupation
I honestly don't know how divorced those ideas are really
At the beginning we met Menchi who was underestimated for being a Gourmet Hunter only to then prove that even the seemingly non-combatant hunters need to risk their lives exploring dangerous places. With the bar set there, it's reasonable to assume that in order to produce remarkable achievements, one needs to be strong in the HxX world (Or else the achievement wouldn't be remarkable)
That doesn't mean that a single star hunter is automatically stronger than no stars hunters, just that the concept isn't completely disconnected from strength

Gon and Killua after Biscuit’s training surpassed a single star hunter in the basics and raw parameters
But that single star hunter has more experience and mentioned he was still stronger in Nen combat

Something I found really interesting is when, during the Chairman Election arc, they mention the possibility of Morel jumping up from 1 star to 3 in the wake of the Chimera Ant situation; since one of the conditions for 3-stars is that one of your students/disciples/pupils has to be a 1-star hunter, that means Knuckle and/or Shoot are possible contenders for 1-star Hunterdom.
Oh yeah, 2-stars and higher requires a hunter to have studenta who are starred hunter. Isn’t Ging a 2-star archeology hunter? Which student of his have a star?

I mean that would be a stretch tbh lmaoo because what we all like about hxh is that id doesn't revolve around our mcs.. Our mcs are but a mere characters in that world. Unlike most shounens when the mc ends uo becoming the most important human who fights the strongest villain. Etc etc. Nah with gon he is a simple 14 yo boy, nothing more. My conclusion is that togashi wouldn't just make up a bs title for gon yk.. Gon will probably join a branch. Killua will probably become a blacklist hunter because he wants to capture his family. Or thats what he said jokingly. Leorio would be in the med field ofc. But i dont know if gon would even want to contribute in those branches. I feel like he doesn't care enough. He probably would like to help people but idk. Maybe he would become a wildlife hunter. As in protect animals because he loves animals. Same as ginta from the zodiacs. He is a poacher hunter. Maybe idk tho. I don't think gon has the same interest as his dad or kurapika. Butttttttt since he likes to fight then maybe a blacklist hunter? Or something like that. @@pininja4981you missed the entire narrative of the series. And "traditional" mc tropes don't dictate a narrative. HxH is a no brainier. I don't think Gon is SPECIFICALLY a HxH. The title alludes to Gon becoming a hunter just to chase and find his father Hunter. If Ging was a police officer, I'm pretty sure Gon would've become a cop.
I really don't think Gon even knows what specific Hunter he wanted to be. He probably hasn't even thought about it. That's why he's not the mc during these later chapters. His mission is complete.
It has been so long while since I last read HxH so I started to raise eye brows like "what do you mean no stars?" but then remembered that hunter license starts with zero and not one 😅
Makes me wonder what Nen proficiency and abilities Cutie Beauty has. And the scary thought is that she may surprisingly be a terror with her Nen.

I heard a theory that ging asked ikshinope (hacker hunter ) to hack the zoldyck computers and even tsubone s lens to know about alluka a power and her conditions ,this was hinted by the fact that there is a panda s doll similar to the one ging left at the zodiac meeting in alluka s room, also of you look at the left side of alluka you wll notice that there s a boar doll , another hint is when ikshinope interview he hold a sign that says "Ging, where do you think you re going" , probably demanding his payment,

Many people misunderstand the star system
It has nothing to do with your “power level” but your accomplishments in your field or expertise.
People also forget many hunters create a Hatsu that caters to the occupation. Not all hunters focus on combat since basic Nen can already provide you necessary protection (Ken, Ko, shu etc)
Most of the times, hunters are going against non Nen users or dangerous animals
Leorio created his Hatsu for his occupation as a doctor and the fact it saves money from needing many types of medical equipment
It just so happens to be useful in combat too since it can be applied that way, as shown by Ging.

edit: Also, if we get the Dark Continent Arc, I think it could be a Leorio centered arc where he really grows as a doctor
I don't think Kurapika is making it back to the mainland, but I hope he at least is able to help Leorio on the Dark Continent

The phantom troupe backstory stuff got me too attached to them man, they humanized them and now I can't take either side

Hisoka and Kurapika both intend to hunt them, the Hunters and Mafia families are neutral at best, and the Troupe might get themselves involved in the succession war after seeing the body horror "art" 🤮 of Prince Tserriednich and being reminded of their origin. Tserriednich might catch them off-guard with his nen beasts and false future ability and kill one himself. Making a move on him will make the rest hostile towards the Spiders, causing this all to be even more dangerous. Plus, back home at Meteor City, we have Gyro being set up as someone who will become a threat, likely filling the power vacuum, and use his knowledge of Nen provided by Welfin to raise a new kingdom with the intent to destroy the world.
@@cameroncrouch5843it would make more sense for him to be a positive influence on Oito and Woble, finally reckon with Pairo’s death, lay his clan to rest, and get a closer bond to Leorio. A corruption arc would be out of nowhere.

People are so used ranking systems that are based around power and strength (the ninja system from Naruto , the captain system from bleach, the bounty system from One piece )
that when ranking system gets made that bypasses or forgoes that , it baffles them

The 2nd phase of the Hunter Trials (after the endurance walk...) Takes place in a dark continent like place.....with bizzare life forms of all kinds.... Even Greed Island seems to be training for the dark continent because it had unique threats like the super fast puff Ball things that can only be tracked with Goh. It seems everything from beginning and middle has prepared our main characters for this end in the dark continent...

I've been watching and enjoying your content for a few years now. But I can't remember if this was ever brought up. Knov's ability, could he set a door on the ship to the dark continent and connect it to one on the stories main land? That way instant access to and from the dark continent without having to pay the price for safe travel there? Not to mention being able to quickly move profitable material and injured people back and bring reinforcements almost instantaneously.
Theoretically yes, but after his breakdown, he's not up to the task of stepping foot in the DC. So his current role is to be stationed at the "fake new world", across the sea from the DC, to transfer findings from the DC back to the human world. But other people will be responsible for going into and taking things out of the DC to him.
We don't know the absolute limits of his powers, if there is a max distance allowed or not, or if there is some supernatural barrier preventing this via the gatekeepers or some other phenomena.
But there is also the human element. Would know even go there knowing the threats? He's capable yes, and brave but may still be traumatized by the ants.
But assuming he does go, and there isn't restrictions that we don't know of, then yes, once he sets up a door, he can Telenor people there through the use of his master key.

Gon didn't get a star after completing Greed Island or his participation in the Ant campaign, all because Gon hasn't chosen any specialty. So! it probably means that one who has a specialty and achieves something unrelated to their specialty might not get a star at all, but the exception seem to be from having subordinates that achieve a star, it can boost your star to double or triple star even if it's unrelated to your specialty. But it's just me guessing from a mention of Morel possibly getting triple after the ant arc after someone under him getting a star.
@@Leongon We also can't forget that you apparently have to do some paperwork to get a star. Kite mentioned that Ging could be a triple star Hunter if he wanted but he is too lazy to do the paperwork for it. So maybe Gon is qualified for a star for either clearing Greed Island (Game Hunter) or for helping with the Chimera Ants since that's why we think Knuckle and Shoot are probably considered for stars.
TLDR: Gon would never get a star no matter what he does since I just can't see him do any paperwork to get it approved anyway, lmao.

Netero should have a star for creating Nen. That's a huge innovation in the world of martial arts (but I guess Nen is a secret). I think Leorio will get one eventually for something related to medical research or philanthropy.
