It’s a great game but doesn’t feel as grounded as World and Wilds because you can jump around way too much with the wire bugs during combat.
And of course it doesn’t look as good because it’s a Switch game.
FARTY GIT IS BACK YAYAYAY. Also I like how the raptors clearly aren't hunting the huge monster, rather mobbing it as a territorial behaviour. Very realistic, cool

The clock on the right is the hunt timer during the Congalala fight and does say Congalala. The fish that gets fished up is a regular Gastronome Tuna, which always took extra effort to fish up, they just changed the minigame from button mashing to an actual minigame.
so given that we got a congalala as well as the congas revealed now... there is not only a possibility for rajang being back but also the blangonga no?
as they do have similar sceletons is what i am thinking
a snowy mountain range to show off particles and fidelity wouldnt be so far off (or another new misty peak ish area with a snowy/ cold mountain top)

I mean, the water color of the river in scarlet forest looks like those you see in the misty peaks so maybe the next area beside the fishing zone actually leads to the misty peaks or even the snowy mountains

I started with freedom unite when I was like 9 or 10 and the first monster I had issues with was yian kit ku and congalala so it’s soooo nice to go back down memory lane with these two good bois :)
I love how josh mentioned the seikret on the save selection screen but was too tired to notice that mfer was a DIFFERENT COLOR! It had yellow and red in its feathers instead of green/purple

@@razxephon4873they way I read it on the DE was that you would get customization for the reins Int the Seikret, not necessarily the actual colors of it🤷♂️ but this video confirms we can change the color or at least pick it on creation. Of course having both options would be the best. Kinda like FF14 and Chocobo armors.

Are the PC requirements really that bad? I've seen people complain about them quite a bit, but a friend says it's just cope from those that have to get new graphic cards.
It pretty much is. They don't differ too much from other triple A games, the recommended says that you should have a GPU ranging from the 2070 super to the 4060. That basically just means any modern high power card can do it, they just drew conclusions the second they saw the 4060. I actually thought the requirements were pretty reasonable, I think people just don't understand anything that's a 2070 super or bigger meets the recommended, meaning most gaming PCs can run it by default. They just saw the 4060 part and freaked out
@@Raptors-mk7dv, that's straight up lie, cos the thing, that scares many (me included) - you need frame generation technology being up on the good card (recommended for PC a lil higher, that what PS5 could do; think about how it will play there) in order to get 60 fps on medium-high (not even all high or ultra) settings.
Whereas frame generation need at least 60 fps raw in order to not create input lag and deceitful frames. This technology is for enhancing fluidity for bigger frequency monitors, and not for compensation for the lack of "basic" frames.
And this screams "bad optimisation". If anything, Dragon's Dogma 2 showed how RE Engine struggles with open-world realms.
And here we are, looking at first time full-on seamless MH game.
New PC gear is not cheap, mind you, especially if we're talking countries of the 2nd and 3rd worlds. And shown specs for now saying "you must do even better, than recommended, cos recommended are struggling".
The transition from Windward Plains to Scarlet Forest reminds me of how the biomes in the Guiding Lands in World were implemented.
I cannot wait for this game. The scope of it all is incredible, the fact we can have multiple of the same monster in one zone, the weather effects, it’s all glorious.
Best part is we have at least one more locale coming cause we still need two monsters revealed (hammer and switch axe monsters) and they don’t fit into either of the current zones
I left a comment on one of their videos about how I want a Soul Calibur crossover. Getting a Nightmare and soul edge skin for greatsword would be amazing. Also, a final fantasy crossover where we can get a Chocobo as a seikret skin would be cool

24:48 look at the pages on the left! One of them looks like it depicts Uth Duna, but look at the one above it. One of the things on it looks almost like a snake coiled around a branch- above that looks sort of like something with spread out wings. I wonder if they mean anything?

They’ve shown us so much it’s hard for my brain to comprehend that there more left in the game. I know it’s selfish to ask for more than just more map, but I want this game and roster to mind bogglingly huge. I’m sure they’re still hiding a ton of monsters both new and old, and that makes me so excited.

I love the change that shows that Congalala's breath change depending on his shroom of choice. Occasional puffs of purple smoke for poison and the little gap in time for the explosive breath to ignite.

@4:22 the valley we run through to change locales is actually an open world gamedev trick that allows one area to unload and the next area to load in, thats why its narrow and is fairly long, to give the next area enough time to fully load up.
I always get lost in the ancient forest and now I'm sure I'm definitely gonna get even more lost here but I love it. 😂

The fishing zone area in scarlet forest looks like a great place to hunt piscine wyverns. It's so huge, there's no way it will only be used for fishing. Maybe we will finally see plesioth's return in this game 😮

Josh is such a telented speaker, like a good sports announcer. He can witness something, and then just talk and talk and talk about it consistently until something else happens and then IMMEDIATELY react to it, I mean the turnaround time is crazy. I absolutely would not be surprised if he did speech and debate in school or some kind of public speaking background.

31:22 I realize that I may just be grasping at stars here but if you look just left of the bone you can see what looks like a constellation. Which if it is, then to my knowledge this will be the first game that has them.
Does this matter? Probably not, but again if it is in fact a constellation then it speaks to the level of detail and how meticulous its development was.

I do understand the changing weather mechanic, but I am not sure how much will I like the game look monochrome half the time.
I think its a good start because they can always improve it with updates or later games
It probably will look much more vivid when you actually see it on your screen. A lot of these videos are recorded and displayed in a weird way.

So far I've been using MHWo for World. And MHWi for Wilds to keep it short and sweet.

As a GS main, I can already see I'm going to *hate* the Scarlet Forest with a passion. Slowed down even more by the water, very bouncy monster in Lala Barina, large water attacks that push you around from Uth Duna... Not gonna be my fav area to hang out in.

Why does it all look so washed out?
Probably because of the recording.
Some weather effects desaturate the environment. Like Downpour and Sandtide, And then pop back in again during Seasonal "Plenties". In between these seasons you can see stuff like the rivers in the forest transitioning between Murky Brown to Clear Blue and Scarlet Red.
So depending on the weather the area will have a more gritty feel during the "Fallow" season. The colors washed out and dull, and then sharp contrast with Inclemency a period of wild change and storms. What was already washed out gets heavily desaturated as the clouds above or the foggy effects obscure the environment. A downpouring of rain causing flooding in the forest, or a lightning storm across the planes. Finally Plenty the period where colors pop and the environment appears lush and rich.
It's the intended affect.
