@@MekareP …do you know what an invasive surgery is? “invasive” isnt being used here to mean like disrespectfully purposely violating someone’s boundaries, its being used to mean a pretty intense, involved thing that uses a lot of your very literally personal information for something. a company using your DNA to provide a service is pretty much the most invasive thing possible for them to do, save for like actually performing a medical invasive surgery on you. Not worth it for skincare

James you’re right about how ‘sexy’ was the epitome of the early 2000s. I remember only being 6 in 2001 & overheard my mom’s friend telling her that a child in the same grade as me was swinging her jersey around above her head telling everyone that ‘all the boys want me cause I’m sexy’. I remember how shocked she was saying this. I did butt into that conversation & asked what ‘sexy’ meant 😂 She did explain to me what it meant & how it wasn’t something that us kids should be using. From similar experiences I can promise you that the over-sexualisation of young girls & women was a huge problem for many parents in my community that they felt a little hopeless at mitigating as it was coming from these huge corporations & media machines.

No one wants customisable skincare because we want brands to tell us what to use and why. Why would we mess with formulations when brands spend years perfecting their formulated products? Brands like The Ordinary stepped in and provided countless single active products that can be layered as you wish. You are so correct, Customisable skin care will never take over. We want to be told what to do for a good price.

@@JamesWelsh yeah I feel like if you buy the boosters, it would probably be similar to what they offer online. From what I have heard, they use a base formula for each hair type (straight, wavy, curly, coily) like they do in the stores, then the "personalized" part would be the 2 boosters they offer (scalp detox, deep condition, curl definition, etc) in stores. They recommend up to 2 boosters, that's why I say 2 boosters, but they have like 6-8 different options. So I think if you figured out what boosters they would've done in the online formula, it would be pretty easy to duplicate. Other than not being able to choose color and scent, I think that's the only thing thats really different than the online formula.

Hahaha-Function of Beauty over saturated the market with ads to the point of annoyance. The only reason I did NOT buy anything from them was specifically bc I was SoOo sick of hearing them sponsor any and every single content creator and podcast under the sun. Once I started hearing FoB ads in one of my favorite improv-based science fiction serial podcast, that was the last straw- working that ad into that kind of content was a STRETCH and it made me cringe so hard that I vowed never to purchase from them. I know I’m not alone in this. Surely.

His vineyard is one of the biggest ever in Europe now to produce an excellent Rosé. That’s the only reason I’m interested in it now.. maybe there’ll be some good products to come out of it..
