One thing that helped in the early part of the fight was having Citan cast Renki and then Suiseii to give everyone high resistance to his Blood Rain attack.

@darksword101 the entire game is laced with references to movies, I found Star Wars: Grahf for example is using Khan's body, Khan was Fei's father. Grahf looks like Darth Vader in his armor, and was originally a man named Lacan, who became evil because of the death of his dream girl, which is a lot like Annikin Skywalker. Fei eventually fights Grahf, who is technically his father. Cyan lived close to the village in order to watch over Fei, and knew all along. Obi-Wan did all this with Luke.
It depends on the fight, with this fight I would say it’s not worth it. But some bosses have a defense or counter mode that you don’t want to hit them in, so you save up AP, then full combo them after they exit that mode.
one of my 1st rpg back then. was playing with my friends. cant seem to defeat this guy. the first boss ever that I cant defeat, I learned I cant expect to kill redrum on a lvl 16. lol good times.

I was trying to max out and unlock the deathblows as much as possible. I ended up with Fei at lv 53, Citan and Rico at 46. Sadly Redrum knocked out Citan so I couldn't get the huge XPs boost on him. I could re-battle Redrum again but I just leave it at that.
@wo0ter Oh, it's not a big deal really, the psychic kid writes REDRUM on the bedroom door and his mother happens to get a glimpse of it in the mirror, reading it backwards, etc. D:
Damn lol Rico is slow and has the lowest hp. I forgot magic outside support was kinda useless. Nostalgia blinds and 4:34 flashing literally. Good tips though.
@DeadCamper well considering that there was also a soylent green movie reference perhaps one of the staff was in to watching american movies at the time.

Xenosaga is a prequel where mankind inhabits large parts of the universe with fei in the third game as a young Abel who you have to fight in his mech. Extremely powerful and it takes place 10000 years before xenogears. my fav battle but gotta make sure your up to speed with deathblows high level and most important a shit load of KO removes lol i beat him in like 10 min level 34 fei redrum should of stayed hiding lol im a beast!!!

Redrum can be a bitch for the underleveled.
Beat him in a few turns when over powered. Easy to be over powered in human form. Gear form is another story.

Only if you unlock all 6 points deathblows, this should be some breeze.
It was a challange sure, but healing items and spells ftw.

Is saving AP for the combo strings even worth it? Seems like you do more damage just letting them rip

@@IdsFear I would say the exact opposite, combos are great for skipping phases of a fight and if you set it up right you can skip him using murder.

at 0:27 when redrum comes out of the sewer, did it always make that noise or is that just the video? I remember just hearing a splash in my Xenogears
It blew my young mind to find out later that green = Redrum, and red = Id. It just never connected....

My FEI was level 32, and Citan and Rico were level 26 going in. 🤣

Rico's speed is so mediocre. It's so funny when Fei and Citan can do 2 turns before Rico can do a turn.

Grafh was wise man so yes hr was feis father in a sense. But fei is the reincarnation of grafh.
