    Thanks, thats a game changer that you don't have to remove fairings for a simple oil change...Nice !!

  • @pmdinaz
    @pmdinaz 3 года назад +3

    You had me at 'you don't have to take off any fairings to change the filter'. Smart on Ducati's part. Thank you!!!
    Valve service interval seems to be 30K Km or roughly 18,500 miles. That's very nice as well. I'm sure it's expensive to have done, but less frequently required still saves money in the long run. This is a contender to replace my 09 Speed Triple! I love the looks of this bike. Cheers!

    • @ThePrybra07
      @ThePrybra07  3 года назад +1

      The new version on the bike you can't get to the filter without removing fairings. For the valve adjustment my dealership quoted me around 1300$ for that service

    Just did my first OC on '21 SS. Everything was easy as pie, except for those pesky small fairing retainers, they were slightly different shapes and sizes so I would recommend taping them to the fairing where they came from or at least note which is which. Also, in my case, one somehow got lost, or perhaps it was missing to begin with... Putting the fairing back really took most of the time, the oil itself took just 5 min, really... Taking the plastic mesh filter inside is probably an overkill/overengineering, as there were hardly anything on it at all, I guess its there in case if there is a serious major damage happening so that you can see it before the engine seizes on you at 100mph(?). I would almost not bother with it as there was hardly any oil drained from there and its plug. Just do the small magnetic plug and the filter.
    BTW the torque specs are:
    1. Main oil drain plug = 20Nm (This wrongly quoted as 42Nm in some Ducati workshop manuals and owners ended up rounding out the rather small hex)
    2. Oil screen drain plug = 42Nm
    3. Oil screen = 42Nm (it was the same on my ST4s and always seemed helluva tight to me when I came to loosen it!)
    4. Oil filter = 11Nm

      @@ThePrybra07 they no likey to do that. Stealership likes it when people pay $400 for an oil change. I've heard of stories where people call in to get the oil light reset and the dealership scolds them for doing the oil change and tries to tell them they voided the warranty by doing it themselves even though the Magnuson moss warranty act says otherwise. Right to repair!!!
