How to stop leaking GI / Military canteen - simple fix for leaky cap

This video will show how to stop a US military government issued canteen from leaking. Often times water can leak from the cap when the canteen is shaken or placed on its side. A thin plastic O-ring like seal must make perfect contact with the upper lip of the canteen. If the cap can not seal with the lip of the canteen, then water can slowly leak out of the canteen. An easy fix for this, as demonstrated in the video, is to take a perfectly flat object and sand down the lip of the canteen. This will allow the cap to make a perfect seal with the lip which will prevent any leakage. This technique works with both the 1 quart canteen and the 2 quart water bladder canteen.
