「圓仔」剛出生時用過的保溫箱換主人了，臺北市立動物園的人猿「可乙」，在1月13日清早7點30分生下男寶寶「乙森」，保育員持續隔網觀察直到晚上8點30分，因初次當媽媽的「可乙」仍然還沒有清理寶寶臍帶及哺乳的行為，不得不決定緊急啟動人工哺育，同時為「可乙」母子進行醫療及健康檢查。
1月13日是個特別的日子，這天是保育員推估人猿「可乙」預產期的頭一天，保育員俏皮地在白板上寫著「可乙今天可以生了」，接著一如往常去探望一夜不見的動物們。人猿爸爸「阿勇」異常安靜沒有不開心地敲門，「可乙」也不同以往的躺在保溫床上沒有起身，保育員仔細觀察，發現「可乙」已經抱著寶寶，輕柔的護著寶寶的頸與頭部，只要寶寶發出叫聲，「可乙」馬上會用嘴親寶寶安撫。
自行生產初次當媽媽的「可乙」悉心抱著「乙森」，卻一直沒有像老經驗的人猿媽媽般，會咬斷臍帶、或是有餵奶的行為。保育員擔心「可乙」產後的身體狀況，也怕「乙森」因媽媽沒經驗或缺乏乳汁，太久吃不到母乳，甚至受到感染，晚上8點30分決定請獸醫師麻醉媽媽「可乙」，為母子進行醫療及健康檢查。由於「乙森」體弱無力吸吮母乳，保育員試著擠出僅2 c.c.的初乳餵「乙森」，並決定緊急啟動人工哺育。
人工哺育「乙森」一天8次的餵奶時間雖然辛苦，卻是保育員經驗傳承的最佳時機，「圓仔」用過的保溫箱也交接給「乙森」使用。曾經人工哺育過2隻人猿寶寶的保育員楊鏘嵐，熟練的照護「乙森」，同時經驗分享，但動物園仍舊期望在最短的時間內，有機會將「可乙」還給媽媽接手，因此特別將保溫箱放在「可乙」的欄舍前，讓媽媽隨時都能看到「乙森」。
「可乙」是個好媽媽，有天晚上保育員幫「乙森」餵完奶後抱給媽媽看，「可乙」靠在門邊一直看著、還隔網嘗試親吻「乙森」，最後搬來麻布袋當睡墊睡在門邊。保育員表示「可乙」其實很怕冷，但是當晚卻寧願捨棄保溫床，想依偎在寶寶旁邊。
在野外極度瀕危的大貓熊，因為向來發情、交配、或育成都極困難，為了在未來的一百年內能維持圈養族群的個體數及遺傳多樣性，國際大貓熊專家群每年均會研商配對名單，但能自然交配且成功產仔的案例仍然屈指可數。「圓仔」即是人工繁殖的保育成果，更因為出生就受傷，而有短暫的時間採用人工哺育。這次人猿「乙森」跟穿山甲「芎梧」一樣，都是爸爸媽媽自然繁殖，卻因為媽媽沒有育幼經驗或缺乏乳汁，不得不採用人工哺育。期望在保育員的努力之下，「乙森」不但能順利成長，還能夠盡快回到媽媽「可乙」的身邊。
