nothing more touching than footage of two orangutans condemned to live in a vegetation-free concrete-and-steel cage for their entire lives set to sappy piano music. how sweet.

I’m all for saving the orphans, but you shouldn’t take it away from its mother. Give her a chance to be a mommy and let nature run its course.

The mother didn't bite off the umbilical cord or feed the baby for a long time. The zoo decided to artificially feed the baby for fear of its weakness and infection. And observe the situation to return the baby to the mother as soon as possible.

Julie W because with no experience, the orangutan mama didn't sever baby's umbilical cord, and didn't breast-feed her baby.

Bonnie Barber these orangutans are so endangered at this point there is a great concern for the loss of even one that they can't take any chances.
