AJ's mic is a Neumann TLM 102. It's my understanding she received it as a 12th birthday present from the Norwegian Armed Forces Band she was performing with at the time. She moved to LA a couple of months later. So, it was sort of a farwell present as well. When she first used it, performing Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind", she held it backwards. (It's a unidirectional condenser mic.) But, it didn't matter.... It always brings a smile watching her sitting on her sofa, trying out her new mic and absolutely killing Etta James' classic.
Ah it was a present from the Band, didn´t know that! Yeah I think she went to LA 2 months later after she had her performance in Los Cabos Gala de Danza (where she met Ivan Mendez).

I saw the video and I think that today, 5 years after then, Angelina with an orchestra and not with a karaoke base, could equal the great Celine. Curiosity. At the piano was David Foster, whom we have also seen playing for a very young Angelina (and he is someone who knows about singers).
There is this one certainty in my life, and that is that this adorable lady will always sing her heart out, and that she will do it in a way that evokes love as a medium between her and her audience. As she had her own full time band since age 8 when she lived in Norway, I have never understood her relationship with the Armed Forces Band.
This was one of the last of Freddy's last songs and he was wearing lots of makeup to hide that he had AIDS which is why she started off with the mask on. A great tribute to Freddy.
