With a PVC 'T' and 2 45 degree elbows you can connect the new length down to the existing piping. Use the 'T' at the bottom with the through hole vertical, it'll act as a 'Puller Access' hole and drainage as well. If you want the new run removable, use Furnco's on either end... Bow is looking smooth and coming up a Bonzer. It's going to be mixed feelings when She's all kitted out and defo ace! Glad to see Janet got to hold the camera and get a little bit of work out of you... 😆
Inches from the finishing line (hll of boat that is then the interiors and elctrics, etc., . Sorry mate, there's a bit of a pool as to who will be first Capt'n!!!! So far, Janet is in the lead >>>>>>>>>>> LOL
Gentlemen, Get you a lady that looks at you like Janet looks at Rosco when she is jammed into a tiny compartment and Rosco says "You ready?"! AND she didn't get abusive! LOL Thanks for sharing sir!
you need a radiator roller, it's a long two-foot roller for behind heating radiators, we use them in the UK as a painter, a long handle roller for the deep hard to reach areas mate
Ross, since yo have the cardboard "fitted" as a template, maybe make some plastic/fiberglass/waterproof material panels to fit those spaces as a replaceable wearing surface ? They could be made in a few pieces so they can be bent or twisted to come out the access hatches and be zip tied together... It would also make clean ups easier and prevent chipping in chain locker or scrapes etc.
Ross i use duratec additive now to my gel coat jobs (50% mix). It adds, gloss, hardens the gelcoat without wax, reduces porosity, and removes brush strokes for a smooth finish..
Ross my man , you had better do something special on Janet's Birthday and anniversary my friend she is a trooper!!!! I know my wife would not be so helpful in this regard, house and work yes boar dream not so much....lol good woman you got there.
Hello from Ontario Canada, Things are looking great Ross, can’t wait to finally see the deck/hull joined! But be sure to not over work yourselves just to get it done for us! Cheers! ~Aaron
Well done Ross! Couldn’t wait to get home to watch this! Janet’s motivation is growing for sure! She is ready to hit the surf! anesthesia Thursday gonna be epic! ☺️
Wow !!!!! What a difference a little flo coat makes, it looks fantastic. It's going to be a long couple of days waiting to see the two halves joined togeather. I'd bet you aren't going to sleep well until the joining is done. Well done Ross and Janet.
Looking great Rossco . The flow coat really does a great job at finishing, well done. Don't know what Janet is on about, using colourful language just wouldn't be like ya!
When things get tough in there, and that is often,I have been known to say the wrong thing, then spend all day apologising to my beautiful wife.Every now and then though Janet has been known to sprout her feelings with her Northern English temper. All the best buddy.Ross
Wow, looking great. I'm excited for you! I'm really looking forward to the joining of the deck and hull. What an incredible accomplishment! Thanks for sharing!
Guys have you considered applying polyurethane (Spray on) to the chain locker area - waterproof and hard wearing as it is used to line tanks , hoppers etc in mining as a hardwearing surface?
Looking good. Another great video. Would that JAD management. She did type up your list, which I have a feeling included lots of interpretation of your notes.
More like deciphering,I was mumbling as I struggled to blurt out the daunting list of tasks. But then Janet is from Northern England ,and well understands the understatement of difficulties we would face.Cheers Ross
Is there a way to spray flowcoat? Airless... With a huge orifice... Or air assisted airless? I know you have calculated the feasibility and cost i am just wondering if being able to just blast all those all at once makes any sense.
Definately,I spray flow coat regularly, issue is overspray in a confined environment and access for clean up Standard HVLP gun with 2.2mm nozzle with meticulous cleaning to strip all wax,I have 2 guns one for flow coat the other for gel coat thereby eliminating contamination.Rossco
so yes u are both not 18 anymore so everything will cost u more time and energy.🥵 But every time i watch i can say job well done. And it's looking great. She will be amazing when finish's
Not cultural,it is the correct term..Gel coat with wax and styrene added to create external surface.Gel coat cannot be applied to a surface other than in a mould as it cannot ever set properly and remains tacky and uncured ready to accept laminates. The wax in flow coat rises to the surface to starve the gel coat of surface thereby setting it ,like face down in a mould.Cheers Ross.
Brilliant ! I have to say that Janet is a real trooper and seriously deserves recognition for her roll. Well done you guys
Very nice work Ross And Janet
be the way, good one with, Janet aided design 😁
Take care, you hard working people.
All the best.
It gives new meaning to "as smart as paint"
Nothing says 'I love you' more than cleaning resin out of your beloved's hair! Fair play the pair of ye!

Looking great guys, keep on rollin🤙🏼🤙🏼🇦🇺
Thanks 👍Nick, it was a crazy effort, but so good to have that put to bed. Cheers Buddy.
Looking fabulous! You are going to owe the boss a nice dinner out after all that work.
Ohh Dennis it was an expensive night out.
@@LifeOnTheHulls LOL! I thought it might be.
Nice video Ross 👍 Have you thought about having a battery up forward to power the windlass? That's a lot of current to push the length of your boat.
Janet is an epic wife 🍻🍻🍻great work 😎👌
Absolutely, digs so deep all of the time.
Yes hot weather use 1% MEKP
Was just about to retire to bed in the UK and this popped up…. Guess I’m going to be a bit longer… thanks for posting 👍👍am addicted to this channel 😂
Good onya Ray,thanks for putting in the big hours mate.
I love your videos Ross, I always look forward to them and always enjoy watching them, thanks m8!

"Pull all your chain out and re-flowcoat your hatch"
Have you any idea how 'WRONG' that sounds!!!??? 🤣🤣🤣
Another amazing video, Mate!
Haha
Love is ?
A good Gellcoat
Dang, that looks good!
Cheers, nice to see the green go.Was a nice result.
Love this channel, wort 'n all. Keep ip the good work Ros and Janet
Thanks David,it ain't pretty but we get it done.
Wow, looking great. I'm excited for you! I'm really looking forward to the joining of the deck and hull. What an incredible accomplishment!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Daniel, was a humongous week, happily now in the past But then every week seems to be huge these days.Rossco
Boat building gives you a great excuse to eat more ice cream.
Sadly that avenue of pleasure has been taken away by the project manager in a bid to help me fit into these bloody hatches.
@@LifeOnTheHulls I'll save up a heap of empties and mail them to you. Golden North Vanilla and Honeycomb OK?
I don’t understand why this channel is not well over 100,000 subs. RUclips keeping it a secret?
Thanks buddy. Can't pick the algorithm.Iguess a middle aged guy building a boat doesn't have enough clout for advertisers, who knows.Rossco
thats looking pretty good are you talking about janet or the flow coating?
Both Laurie, gotta walk on the safe side.
Guys have you considered applying polyurethane (Spray on) to the chain locker area - waterproof and hard wearing as it is used to line tanks , hoppers etc in mining as a hardwearing surface?
Chain lockers are usually lined with rubber I think, to reduce noise and protect the surface. I think...
Great job! Silly question: is flowcoat the same as gel coat?
Flowcoat is Gelcoat plus a wax additive. Gelcoat on its own stays tacky.
Vanilla icecream for flowcoat...interesting
Hah.My dear mum collects them for me,I am not allowed such things as Janet likes to keep me lean and hungry,LOL.
Good painting wont hide bad workmanship. especially on cars or pretty much anything. No offense i love you buddy.
Haha,right on.
Dummy Question: why not flow coat the underside of the roof before you glue it down?? Kansas City wants to know!!

@@LifeOnTheHulls Lol, As an engineer, my writing is a mix of printing, cursive and symbols. All wrapped in bad handwriting.
lists and all… getting organized on paper. This is serious stuff…..
Project manager has it under control,I am just the general dogs body now.
Do you have any ballpark figure about the amount of glass/ fiber/ resin used when you are done?
So far cloae to 2600kg of resin.Cloth I probably couldn't estimate.A bloody lot.
Rosco, a Lady does not sweat, she glows. Sometime they glow like a horse but...
Haha,I should be more careful

There is. Usually applied by pressure pot that I know of. But apparently it's not as good. Looses something when atomised.
I have enjoyed every episode, this is my first like and comment, I have to do better :)
Thank you Jason it all helps
so yes u are both not 18 anymore so everything will cost u more time and energy.🥵

And where are all of the ice-cream containers coming from
My mum. Mate.honestly.
No comment.....I just don't Know what to say! :)
All of your hard work is making me tired
Love the Build - But - more importantly - How did you manage to get yourself such a Fantastic wife
I come on Sean.My good-looks and a lot of alcohol .Hah
It is probably a cultural thing but here in north America I have never heard of "flowcoat. What is it?
Not cultural,it is the correct term..Gel coat with wax and styrene added to create external surface.Gel coat cannot be applied to a surface other than in a mould as it cannot ever set properly and remains tacky and uncured ready to accept laminates. The wax in flow coat rises to the surface to starve the gel coat of surface thereby setting it ,like face down in a mould.Cheers Ross.
@@LifeOnTheHulls Thanks for the clarification. On this side of the pond we call it all gelcoat. It is either plain or waxed.
please please no music while you are chatting.
Sorry I thought I faded that music out.
