Koh Phangan is definitely a party island and Koh Tao was beautiful. I did this on my 2nd of the 4 trips to Thailand as well as staying in Koh Samui. Basically I stayed in islands in the Gulf of Thailand on my 2nd visit. My 3rd of 4th visits were in Krabi, Railey, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and Koh Lanta - personally my favourite parts of Thailand

FYI...in the Thai language, you don't pronounce the letter (H), it is silent. For example, PHUKET is pronounced POO-KET and PHA NGAN is PAH-NYAN.
