My wife and I enjoy your podcasts. We really appreciate the time you stake to explain why the yarn works, how it feels, knits and finishes. Your color choices reflect my colors also Thanks so much for the great work! Be safe.
I'm really enjoying you peaceful and honest videos. I've also recently become addicted to botanical dyeing. It's actually makes me view the world in a different way. Every plant is precious.
Thank you so much for sharing your creative life with us! I have learned continental knitting from your tutorial which was just awesome. I am so grateful to you for sharing your excellent teaching skills! It has improved my tension and I get so much more pleasure out of my knitting now. I’m always up for expanding my knowledge, especially anything yarn related! This year we bought a house with a large garden surrounded by native bush. I have been planning to learn about natural yarn dying and would love to devour that incredible book. So cool that you facilitate spreading the love with all of the goodies producers give you to share with your wonderful viewers - nice one Inga😉🐑
It's totally normal......LOL! Glad to see your lovely self and all your knitting. I swear you have little Norwegian Elves knitting for you! You are a machine! All beautiful!
Another lovely episode! The Natural Dyeing book is exquisite and would be a beautiful addition to any knitter’s collection. I love everything you make and get many ideas from seeing your projects. Thank you for taking the time to make these Podcasts. You are an inspiration!!
Hi Inga, I hope you are feeling better soon! Thank you for posting a bonus video from the cabin, it's always a treat! I love seeing your makes and acquisitions. I'm knitting the Stockholm Slipover by PetiteKnit with some very deep stash (Isager Tvinni) and silk mohair at the moment. I'll look forward to the rustic knit-along in the New Year! I've been collecting avocado pits to do some natural dyeing and would love a copy of the G-uld book, it sounds gorgeous! Take good care.
Thank you for another beautiful video! I was so excited to see you had posted this morning. Nothing like relaxing with my knitting, a cup of coffee, and one of your videos to watch. I especially loved the tours at the end. Your cabin is lovely. And of course, seeing all your lovely yarny acquisitions. 😁 I have been thrilled to find a yarn mill a couple hours from my house that sells unspun, but they have been out of the natural gray since I bought the one I found there.... Hopefully, maybe in spring they will have more. I am sure I have enough yarn to keep me busy through the winter. 🤣 Have a wonderful day and I hope you feel better soon!
I am really jealous of all the lovely yarn you showed us today ;-) thanks for sharing another great hour with us and yes! that book looks amazing!!!! I have been attracted to the world of natural dyes for a while, but I have tried to resist the temptation of giving it a try as I always find I struggle to find the time to knit as much as I'd like, let alone adding another craft hobby yet. Still it is all very interesting!!! xxxx and, yes, your cabin is the coziest place ever xxxxx
Wonderful episode! Your voice is so soothing. You are a wonderful company when knitting! I love the dyeing book! I am trying to explore how to get from fleece to garment because I would love to be self sufficient when it comes to my knitting. I mean, to be able to spin the fleece and then dye the yarn and then knit the garment would me amazing for me. And you can only get there by studying from the people who knows how to do the stuff!!!! 😃 Thank you so much for the opportunity!
Thank you very much for your beautiful (as always) content Inga. You inspire me. I believe nature is truly magical and seeing what we can create using natural elements is absolutely humbling and fascinating. I love rustic yarn, especially wool, and I try to use undyed, natural versions of it as much as possible, but I would absolutely love to begin trying to dye using wallnut shells for example, as the rusty orange-brown shade they give is just the best, or things like red onion peels, beetroots or avocados. That's an entire universe in itself, with so many possibilities...😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
I love your acquisitions! That tral colour is gorgeous! Your friend is lucky. That book looks beautiful aswell. I love books and I would love to learn about natural dying. Those earthy colors are always gorgeous. You inspired me again!
Thank you for sharing the lovely footage of the yarn shop, your beautiful acquisitions and the gorgeous scenery. Sure hope I can someday see it in person. Happy Holidays ❄️⛄️
Thank you, Inga, for yet another beautiful episode! You are always such an inspiration! For example, your sock blockers with the customized logo in a previous episode were lovely! I ordered a set for my niece, too. 😄And the book with natural dyes you are kindly giving away will be fantastic!!! Thanks you so much!!!🥀
Love seeing the cabin covered in snow! Snow angels made me smile. And yours of yarn shops are always a treat! I’m excited to see your preview of the Guld book. It looks beautiful. I’ve been playing with natural dyes for a few years. It’s actually what brought me to knitting! I used plants from our farm and nursery to dye cotton and really wanted richer coolers I saw others get in animal fiber. So I taught myself to knit via RUclips tutorials and I haven’t stopped since! There are so many cool and talented people and techniques to follow!
What a beautiful book! I've got a veritable little library of herbal books, but none on natural dying (yet!). I recently began spinning my own yarn, and since large amounts of white wool is generally the most cost effective option, I have a lot of it - and I want to dye it! I love all things natural and earthy and working with plants, for me, is a way to connect with Gaia and fills my soul up with love! I'm attending university to get my degree in plant science, so I can work in restoration/conservation and be with plants whenever I'm not knitting :) And I love your podcast. I've watched every episode, some multiple times, and I'm just amazed by how prolific and adorable you are! I especially love the acquisitions sections, since I can't afford to buy all the yarn I want (who can though?) and so I get to live vicariously through your yarn obtaining adventures.
I really enjoy watching and listening to your podcasts. Your voice is very calming and the videos of your surroundings are quite beautiful. The dying book looks wonderful; something I've always wanted to try.
Wow!!! You packed a lot of info. on this episode. I just started knitting this year in February and I have been watching podcasts like crazy while knitting. Your podcasts are, by far, my favorites and so I've been binge watching your past episodes. I have watched quite a few podcasts and videos from CabinBoyKnits and I have learned so much about natural yarn dyeing. I started collecting onion skins although they are not to be as nicely displayed in a bowl like your beautiful dried flowers (lol)...I'm hoping to use them to dye a couple of yarn skeins someday. I haven't dyed any yarn myself yet but I'm hoping to do it next year, maybe in the spring. Anyhoo, thank you for taking time from your life to share all these things with the world...you have inspired me!
Oh, I just so much have wanted to have that gorgeous book! I have plant died with avocado, onion scales and common reed. I would like to try more of it and the book would be a great help. Thank you for you podcast, I always enjoy watching you, I get a lot of inspiration out of your knits, especially because our color preferences match perfectly and as I am a big fan of rustic wool : ) I hope to get to come to Norway again soon, the video clips from outdoors are a lovely addition to the podcast, especially now when travelling is not so easy!
I started saving flowers this past summer as well. I have a bunch of lilies in a rust type colour. I can't wait to use them to dye. It will be a first time. This book would be so helpful. The yarn store tour was great. So many beautiful colours and knits.
I love your “tour’s ” that you give. I enjoy seeing your cabin and your yarn shops that you visit. You live in a magical place. The natural dye book looks like it would be fun. It would add another layer to what you think about while hiking through the woods. Thank you for enjoyable “visit” with you!!
I so enjoy your conversation about the different yarns you purchase and what your knitting plans are. The book is gorgeous! I find natural yarn dying absolutely fascinating! Thank you for the giveaway and for your podcast.
Watching you from Australia, since I discovered your podcast I went back to catch up with the previous ones and since then don't miss any of your episode. Love everything about your podcast and thank you for sharing the beautiful views at the end. looking forward for more episode from you.
Just adored this podcast! Your knitting skills are incredible! Your mother/grandmother taught you well. Decorating your cabin was so Christmasy and so pretty! Understand why you go there often. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us and if course your phenomenal knitting goodies. Your description of the yarns you use are very thorough and very helpful. Your video of yarn shops and the outdoors is always something to look forward to ending of each videocast. Thank you for creating a videocast that has so much for so many people.
Oh what a lovely update, Inga! It's always a pleasure hearing about your stashquisitions, the excitement around new projects, and gratitude towards the knitting community. I do hope you feel better soon. As a lover of puns and play on words and a lover of yarn-dyeing, I would love the opportunity to explore G-uld. Your kindness and generosity make your podcast one of my favorites to watch. Thank you for sharing your knitting journey (and life updates) with us! Happy Holidays.
You inspire me greatly.I never gave a thought to what natural yarns are until Iistened to your podacast. Now I can't stop knitting with wool for my whole family. We live in Canada. I got the japanese stitch book that you shown. I is amazing. The natural dyes book seems like a great idea book. I love to garden too so I would like to plant flowers I can use in dyes. Keep making videos you have great ideas about living in a sustainable way.I wish we all would move away from the acrylics soon.
Such inspiration ~ enjoy learning about yarns and patterns~ you are so generous with your time 🎄I really appreciate your podcast 🎄I love to read and the book would be nice to own. I love the stars in the windows everything actually 🎄
You are very inspiring with your knits. You make so many beautiful things. I love the look of naturally dyed yarn. I am planning to take up natural dyeing in the future!
Wow! You really hit the Jackpot with your yarn finds! I live in Montana USA and there are a couple of small mills, they usually do mostly custom orders so we can’t buy yarn like yours. I’m so jealous! Wonderful podcast, as usual! I had just washed up some raw fleece to use some natural plant materials on, and there you are, talking about it! Yay! The book looks super interesting! Thank you for podcasting, I look forward to it! Merry Christmas!
Love your content, your inspiration, your information and your motivation. Wow, what a marvelous book. More then a year ago I start natural dyeing. Hope to start a dye garden very soon. Natural dyeing is so refreshing and comforting. The finds in nature during long walks. Love to have this book 💖 one day. Thank you so much for all you sharing. I wish you a wonderful December with lots of making time. Enjoy 💕💐🥰
Love watching your podcasts! Your cabin seems so cozy 😌 I too am very interested in naturally dying yarn. We are relocating our garden next year, which would be the perfect time to do some planting for this purpose. Thank you! 💕
Hello Inga and thank you for another lovely Ep. It would be lovely to have and read this book of natural dyes. I have done some dying and I love it. I made a granny square blanket with yarn I dyed with birch leaves.
Your new book looks so nice. That is a very generous gift. I've done a little dying but not for a long time and not very much using natural dyes. I'd love to read it! Thank you.
What an amazing yarn shopping acquisition. I lived vicariously through it! Those 2 patters were unbelievable. I am looking them up now yarn 🧶 For after the new year!
I will be trying natural dying and such book would be soo helpful. I have few sheep and will have my own wool this spring 😁 for the first time. I need to learn a lot yet but looking forward to that. Love listening to you talking about the yarn and new projects, it's so inspiring. Get well soon!
Just a gorgeous book. I'm always on the lookout for interesting books about plants and specialties. The last one I bought was about seaweed. :) I would love to see if they have juniper berries in there. I remember crushing some with my daughter when she was trying to find items in our yard to create a school project and I was surprised they made a yellowish-brown color, but just crushing them didn't give me enough to try and dye something! So, I need that book to know how to use/create natural dyes... and I need all the beautiful plant books to add to my collection. :)
The Natural Dying book certainly sounds like it would be a useful tool and just something to enjoy looking through. I have begun to save up some pieces to do some dying with hopefully in the spring. I have a bag of avocado skins and pits and some onion skins. I have also dried up various flowers to see if they would give enough pigment to make a good dye. If it does, I have a special name to call the yarn. Your cabin looks so cozy and a great place to hide away for the weekend.
What a beautiful book! I’d love to have the book……maybe I could try some yarn dyeing with guidance from the book! Exciting! Thank you for another nice podcast, keeping me company white knitting. Greetings from the south of Sweden.
I always look forward to your podcasts and of course your acquisitions. The natural dying book looks so beautiful. I would love to learn about it as it was something that my Nana use to do.
Thank you for the extra podcast….keeps me company while I do Christmas knitting. I’ve never tried dyeing, but I have an adult daughter who has always wanted to try it. This book would be great!
Ooooh! That book looks wonderful. I’ve dabbled a bit in natural dyeing and would love to do more of it. Lovely podcast as always. Love seeing your acquisitions and how excited you are about all of them.
Oh, all that lovely yarn! So pretty and squishy and beautiful. Our nearest yarn store is over an hour away so I have to either order online or grab what I can at the hobby store. :( Oh well. I did get some wonderful super rustic wool that softens beautiful after blocking. And it bloomed nicely too So I knitted on another Christmas present while watching your podcast. 1 more to go unless I get ambitious. The more I knit, the more I'm enjoying it. Perhaps I'll make myself something out of what's left after finishing my holiday knitting. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Hi Inga, I love your podcast. I see you every week from Madrid-Spain and you keep me very good company while I knit. I would love to have that wonderful book. I have ever dyed with natural dyes and I have loved the experience. The book is sure to be very inspiring. Thanks!!!
Love all your podcasts, so easy to watch! I wish I lived close to that wonderful yarn store, wonderful sheepy wools! I'd love to be entered into the draw for the dyeing book. I've dyed with lichens and have collected hibiscus flowers and avacado to dye with, but likely don't enough yet, the book would be handy. I spin as well as knit, so the rustic KAL will be fun.
Your cabin looks so cozy and now you have lots of wool to insulate you,! I love your yarn prchases and the headband you made. That is a great gift idea. I wish we had more access to your Norwegian yarn here in Canada. The chestnut colour you chose is fantastic. I have done some dyeing with marigold, goldenrod , onion skins and madder. My friend and I set up a dye table outside each year to experiment. I would love to own the book you showed us for more ideas. Thank you for another great episode.
Hoping that you are feeling better!! The book is amazing!!! I have played with plant dying without much knowledge. I also did marigold dyed cotton. I’m excited about trying acorns dying. You are such an inspiration!!!!
Really enjoying your podcasts! You’re really encouraging me to try more rustic yarns! I’ve only died with natural dye over and that was using some lilies of been given. I used the stamen and the flowers and got a gorgeous salmon colour!!
I have been thinking to try plant dyeing for a long time. I am sure the beautiful dyeing book will help me to get start it. love your podcast as usual. I always find something new and interesting! thank you for sharing your knitting experience with us! ❤️
Everything about that book looks and sounds fantastic ! I think it would be a great addition to my sister’s bookshelf as she is studying textile design and loves to use leaves, flowers and all other sorts of natural products for her creations
The Colours of Nature book looks beautiful. Just collecting things together to give natural dyeing a go, so I'd love to go in the draw for it please! Thank you for your lovely podcasts. You bring a warmth and cheer that's needed in these times :) Hope your cold's all gone.
Jag upptäckte din kanal här igår, och vilken lycka det är att ha så många härliga avsnitt framför mig! 🤩 Jag drömmer en dag om att få besöka både Guld och Hillesvåg, båda deras garner verkar otroligt härliga.
Hope you feel better soon! Loved the dye book - very exciting to think about how you can create your own dyes and yarns :-) I have some woad seeds that I want to grow in Spring - woad is a type of indigo blue that was used by the local tribes in Great Britain years ago.
As always enjoyed to see all your acquisitions, the tour of the store and your lovely cabin. I have been researching about natural dyes and will love to have one of that beautiful book.
Thanks for all the info about the different yarns. It is really interesting. I would also be interesting in learning about natural dyeing. The books looks lovely. Thanks.
I am planting a dye garden this spring and am always interested in learning more about natural dyeing. What a lovely book and a generous gift. Thank you!
Oh how I would love to have this book to look and learn ! Thank you for your inspirational podcasts. I really really love them, they always make me happy ! ☺️
I love your podcasts Inga!! I have dabbled in dyeing yarn and using natual dyes. The book sounds amazing!! I would be so lucky to receive a beautiful informative book like this. Thanks!!
Ooohhhhhh, I am so ready for this book. I am moving into my lovely little home in northern Alberta, Canada in anticipation to dye yarn next summer in my garage. I have been collecting petals and stamen from summer flowers 😊
I love plant dying, all these gifts from nature, to create wonderful colors. Would like to learn more about it. The g-uld book would be a big help 😍 Great to have Hillesvarg yarns in your neighbourhood. Hard to resist all these beautiful yarns!
I have just started playing with natural dyes - it’s just so magical what using different mordants will do with the color. I’d love to have that book in my library. I’ve really loved watching your videos.
The Book for plant dyeing looks great. 🤎 You knit so fast i'm always stunning. I like the rustic wool but in Austria we don't get as many. Wish you happy days in your cabin. 😃
Thank you for the video, Inga! It was perfect after a stressful day. I absolutely love the colors that come from plant dying. And the book is stunning!
As always I very much enjoyed your episode! I have tried some natural dyeing and am dying to try more. Would love this book as it looks just beautiful!
This bonus episode was everything I didn't know I needed. I've never tried dyeing yarn before, but I love foraging in my area! Learning how to use the previously untouched plants would be really neat. I'm looking forward to the rustic knit-a-long! I watched on the sidelines for the last one and I'm excited to participate in this upcoming one!
I have just started on a natural dye journey. I found some blow down lichen on a hiking trip at the end of August. I was off on this path of discovering the interesting colour that can be found in nature. This book would be perfect. Thanks for all your inspiration.
Seeing all of your yarn acquisitions is making me so happy haha I can't wait to see everything you make from it! And your voice actually sounded pretty fine to me, so no worries about that.
I really love your podcast. You must be a super fast knitter😊 I would love to begin dyeing my own yarn. I’ve been wanting to do it, but a little afraid 😳. Looking forward to the next one.
What a beautiful book! I've dabbled in natural dyes... my favorite is a weedy flower we have here in California called sour grass- because you can eat the sour stems. And the color is bright yellow :)
Hello Inga. I have always wanted to try natural dying for knitted garments. I make my own soap and enjoy using natural products like honey and oatmeal. I am a huge fan of all things natural. My next project in my knitting queue is to try the sandes garn slippers. I have lots of non superwash wool in my stash. Enjoy your winter knitting. Best wishes
So enjoy your podcast. I'm hoping someday to be able to knit with yarn that is from a different region than the US. I'm super excited to see what you come up with for the natural dye book. I've been collecting likin to make dye with. So this book would be so fabulous if I was to win it. I look forward to seeing your new color work sweaters come alive. You knit such beautiful projects. I totally understand what you were saying about the yarn feeling like nails down a chalkboard. If it doesn't bring me comfortable feel in my hands or my needles, I have to donate it. Because life is to short to knit with product that doesn't bring you joy 😊. Have a fabulous holiday season. Don't forget to breathe and knit happily. Jenn Lewis Estacada Oregon USA
Thanks for the video! Always wonderful to watch. I really want to try the Tinde and found some in Canada. I would love to get this book for my daughter. She’s been doing some natural dying. She did a beautiful light blueish purple with some black beans. The sweater she made with it turned out amazing. Thanks again!!
I so love the way you shop! The vibe is so good and not hoarder (to me) more like, artistic! 🐑❤️🐑❤️🐑
My wife and I enjoy your podcasts. We really appreciate the time you stake to explain why the yarn works, how it feels, knits and finishes.

Thank you! 💕
Love seeing acquisitions !!! So much fun. Natural dyeing book looks intriguing .

Lovely podcast as always. Love seeing your acquisitions and how excited you are about all of them.
WOW! You are going to be very busy knitting all that yarn... I love it all🎄
Oh, all that lovely yarn!

Hope you feel better soon! Loved the dye book - very exciting to think about how you can create your own dyes and yarns :-) I have some woad seeds that I want to grow in Spring - woad is a type of indigo blue that was used by the local tribes in Great Britain years ago.

As always a podcast I really look forward to. Thank you.
The Book for plant dyeing looks great. 🤎 You knit so fast i'm always stunning. I like the rustic wool but in Austria we don't get as many. Wish you happy days in your cabin. 😃

I so enjoy watching your enthusiasm while talking about this wooly passion that we share!
Best wishes
I would love to learn to dye with plants or natural dyeing. I have dabbled in dyeing with Easter egg dyes and it is so much fun!! Happy holidays!
I enjoy your podcast every time you record! And the book look amazing. I have done some natural dying using tea bags. I like the result a lot!
