I like the premise of this movie, but the title is scaring me away. I can't in good conscience tell anyone I'm seeing a movie called Daddio. And before you say anything, Dakota isn't that bad of an actress. She just has a terrible agent.
Michael Chiklis starred in a failed sitcom more than 20 yrs ago called Daddio, about a crazy father; when that show fizzled, he was cast in The Shield, one of the best crime dramas tv ever had.
LOL, I can't get pass a cab driver bonding and giving life advice to a passenger. 99% of Cab drivers especially in NYC wouldn't care if you got hit by a bus 2 minutes after they gave you a ride.
I thought this was the movie from the commercial where Dakota gets in a cab and asked to be taken home and the cabbie says he doesn't know where the fuck she lives.
If I read the synopsis I would be like oh my god that sounds so boring but with these two powerhouse actors hands and interesting sounding script has made intrigued
Female taxi driver: _'If you can use me again sometime, call this number.'_ Philip Marlowe : _'Day and night?'_ Taxi Driver : _'Uh, night's better. I work during the day.'_
Yeah I really really wanted to like MW. Such a bummer. But the scene when she tries climbing up the wall.... THAT was the brief shining moment 🎉😂 and I'm glad there was at least one..
Sean Penn is at his best when he is subtle. It would be interesting to see Dakota Johnson in a movie that wasn't supremely mediocre, very underrated actress.
I see no one here has seen the best movie ever shot in a car and car only: Locke (2013) which I highly reccomend not to stupid "fans" but to the cinephiles.
This "slice of life" experience portrayed looks very interesting. I will absolutely see this. The one thing I don't like is Dakota's wig. It seems stiff, or just "off" somehow. She is just so stunning, maybe it's because it's just not how I'm used to seeing her.
This was #3 on the Blacklist of best unpublished scripts several years ago. She spends 90 mins working through her delusional poor choices. Maybe the assistants they had voting on it were in the same place in their lives. Not the kind of "problems" I want to see "solved" as entertainment.
She would have taken an UBER in the real world and her nose would be in her phone and she'd be gay and Penn would gross her out. But hey, why not a fantasy that ends in tragedy.... SPOILER
"home... i'm going home" part 2
This gave me SNL skit vibes 😂
Waited for him to start rollin a booger
It seriously did but like they forgot the funny
me too
“Spicoli Drives a Cab”. Nothing like the Book!
I like the premise of this movie, but the title is scaring me away. I can't in good conscience tell anyone I'm seeing a movie called Daddio. And before you say anything, Dakota isn't that bad of an actress. She just has a terrible agent.
Agree
You know you love your Daddio.
She plays Dakota Johnson very well.. That works for a lot of actors just playing the same character over and over again.
Michael Chiklis starred in a failed sitcom more than 20 yrs ago called Daddio, about a crazy father; when that show fizzled, he was cast in The Shield, one of the best crime dramas tv ever had.
Yeah. The problem is she always plays herself in the movies
LOL, I can't get pass a cab driver bonding and giving life advice to a passenger. 99% of Cab drivers especially in NYC wouldn't care if you got hit by a bus 2 minutes after they gave you a ride.
Sean Penn looks to be enjoying the role
No one thought to think “man, this will go down as the longest cab ride home in history.” 💀
Visually I thought it looked like a sequel to Collateral
So basically the whole movie is basically shot in cab
Basically it looks like you’re basically correct.
@@KingStone-so1yl basically i am
Except the bit where he takes her back to his house and him and the missus spit roast her with a strap on
and somehow better than madame web
Basic movie
Sean Penn is ICONIC !!
Okay, I'll bite. If there's enough there for them to maintain the tone they establish in the trailer, it could be really great.
The director got inspired by her "Home. I'm going home" taxi scene and made a movie about it.
I thought this was the movie from the commercial where Dakota gets in a cab and asked to be taken home and the cabbie says he doesn't know where the fuck she lives.
lol I think that’s in the movie “how to be single”
It looks like something SNL could have fun doing a spoof of.
If I read the synopsis I would be like oh my god that sounds so boring but with these two powerhouse actors hands and interesting sounding script has made intrigued
Not the usual type of movie I go for, but I would definitely go and see this!
why
Same here. I’m looking forward to it.
Life follows art, Sean Penn really does drive a cab for a living!
Love the actors but I have a feeling the whole movie is the cab drive.
Locke was the same way and it was spellbinding
This looks really good
Yea no way in hell im spending 2 hours watching two people in a cab
It feels like I just watch the full movie
Daddio? is that like another nickname word for big daddy "Oh Big Daddio" 😂
what's the music in the background?
Looks good to me.
Will see this
This looks great, count me in! Why aren’t there more movies about cab drivers?!
Female taxi driver: _'If you can use me again sometime, call this number.'_ Philip Marlowe : _'Day and night?'_ Taxi Driver : _'Uh, night's better. I work during the day.'_
Google a small film in the 1970s called "Taxi Driver" and you'll see why it's hard to beat that.
@@matthewivresse3706 I like that movie, plenty of other things to do with the cab driver scenario though.
Try the best one 'Collateral' Great great movie
@@robertsoprano5990 I will, thanks for the tip!
Sean Penn = Awesome
I hope this makes up for Madame Web.
Yeah I really really wanted to like MW. Such a bummer. But the scene when she tries climbing up the wall.... THAT was the brief shining moment 🎉😂 and I'm glad there was at least one..
Omg pls don't tel me the entire movie is just the entire cab ride
😂😂that's what I was thinking
So what? Lots of movies are just a series of moments in one place, like 12 Angry Men.
That's exactly what it will be.
Locke with Tom Hardy is him in the car alone talking to random people on the phone and the movie is amazing.
@@coolnerdlll6053 LOL, I mean come on now, a Cab driver bonding and giving life advice to a passenger for a whole movie is ridiculous.
I can't wait to see that movie!
Finally, a movie like this! ❤
I really want it to see Sean Penn again on a movie
Sean Penn is at his best when he is subtle. It would be interesting to see Dakota Johnson in a movie that wasn't supremely mediocre, very underrated actress.
King Sean ❤!!
If not for the actors involved I would haven’t made it through this trailer.
In the thumbnail Dakota with blonde hair smiling just like that, the spitting image of her dad. I had never seen the resemblance until now.
This looks like an snl skit
We just need a movie like this after all the super heroes and sci fi crap pushed by Hollywood.
I couldn’t watch a movie that just takes place in a cab
plot twist - he's a serial killer
I don't think Sonny Crockett would like Sean Penn giving his daughter "Life Advice"...
I mean..."Lost in Translation" was just a few days in a hotel, a nightclub and busy street.
Right. A girl like that would have anything to do with a cab driver, and a weathered 65 year old at that.
Damn I thought it was Eddie Guerrero from WWE..lol
DJ is amazing 👏
Stealth sequel to "Fast Times at Ridgmont High." Twist ending: Dakota Johnson's boyfriend is Mr. Hand.
Happy birthday 🎂
I regret watching the trailer watching the movie would be a bridge hunt
Seans best at doing sly stallones voice-till he turned around-thought it was him!
I see no one here has seen the best movie ever shot in a car and car only: Locke (2013) which I highly reccomend not to stupid "fans" but to the cinephiles.
Daddio meets his next mama mia lol
You bet, you just watch the whole movie. He missed his wife, and she decided to be single. The end. haha
Could've been worse by him picking up a contract killer like Vincent from collateral 😂
A whole movie set inside a taxi...lol
😂 it’s just stupid. Like Fast and Furious movies.
This movie is bs if I dont see the finale fare amount at the end.
And if he comps the ride😡
looks good
yes please
if this movie is entirely inside a cab, no thanks. i'll wait for netflix
Love it!
This "slice of life" experience portrayed looks very interesting.
I will absolutely see this.
The one thing I don't like is Dakota's wig. It seems stiff, or just "off" somehow. She is just so stunning, maybe it's because it's just not how I'm used to seeing her.
Please not a one scene, one hour and 45 minute cab ride.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Simply don't watch it
Some people just can't enjoy a dialogue-heavy film and need shit to be blowing up every 2 minutes 🙄😂😋.
@@liammacdonald9941agreed 😊.
Do you know how much that fare is?
This looks amazing
this looks amazing.
When your cabbie is a weirdo.
Exactly, I'll be like just pull over here and let me the f@@k out.
Are they in the car the whole time? Idk if it's good or not Dakota isn't a good actress so it's touch to want to see this
Dakota ist bestimmt 1000x better❤
Dakota looks like Dua lipa. Dakota Lipa
WOW I THOUGHT DAKOTA PASSED AWAY YEARS AGO... COOL 😎
These comments are the best part 😂of this Movie 🎬 yo
mentira, si tomás un taxi en ny el taxista nunca es yanki.
is this a short film?
Dakota Johnson is getting paid acting herself.... again.
Woah this looks...like a bad cab ride! Riveting
Wie Dumm ist das denn😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dakota Johnson. They keep trying to make her the next big actress, but I haven't seen a movie that she's been in that I've really liked.
Sam I am grown up!?
She looks like Sharon stone;)
She's definitely gonna have been in that accident they passed...either dead or in a coma
Now I don't need to see the movie
Genteee, eu achava que Sean Pen tava morto coitado
Penn mit two "N" geschrieben dummerchen
Looks very slow paced, not for me.
I can’t bare to watch a Sean Penn movie
Blonde looks good on her
who takes cabs still?
shouldn't this have followed the latest trend and be called "The Cab Driver".....?
Dakota Johnson look way better here than her Madame Web (she looked old in that apperance)
I hope Seany boy wins an Oscar, he can air-mail it to Zelensky!
holy cheesio
Ugh.... Sean Penn went from Cool to Creepy in his older age.
This was #3 on the Blacklist of best unpublished scripts several years ago. She spends 90 mins working through her delusional poor choices. Maybe the assistants they had voting on it were in the same place in their lives. Not the kind of "problems" I want to see "solved" as entertainment.
daddy yo
An entire movie, in a cab, just two people schmoozing? C'mon MANNN!!!!
You know...the thing.
@@jackdaniels1355 - It's NOT a JOKE!!
Adios counsellor
Cabbie takes the long way home so he can make more money and makes a film while he's at it.
Hehehehe. The Black List......
The bought journalists' reviews tell you everything about a movie: crap! I stopped watching the trailer midway.
Must be nice to get into Hollywood because of Daddy.............
No thanks! Sean Pem is an abuser. He's gross. Daddio is referring to him? Also, gross.
The reason this is BS: all my cabbies were born in a Spanish speaking country or wear a turban 🤣😆😂
Even Sean Penn can't counter the terrible acting by Johnson.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Nah...
She would have taken an UBER in the real world and her nose would be in her phone and she'd be gay and Penn would gross her out. But hey, why not a fantasy that ends in tragedy.... SPOILER
