Thank you for sharing some tips and giving a detailed description about Disney. I love Disney so much, but I have never been to any of the Disney theme park. I appreciate the detailed description so much.
Thanks for the tips. Im going there soon, for the first time since losing most of my vision, and your video is super helpful. Your videos are really good for me. Thank you!
This video was amazing! I am legally blind I do have some Vision thank God and I do need the description device at Disney and you have been so informative and so smart and so clear and I appreciate you and I subscribed to your channel and I wish you the best success always and let's keep being Disney fanatic LOL I live in Miami Florida so I'm 4 hours away driving of course you know I don't drive hahaha but I'm close to Mickey Mouse so I'm a 53-year old Disney World addicted adult LOL
Good video. I've been twice before but always with sighted people helping with everything. This summer I'll be going alone with my daughter, so this was pretty helpful. I had no idea about the audio description
I’m glad you found this video helpful. I’ve always been with sighted people as well and think I would feel pretty overwhelmed about navigating it myself. That’s awesome that you are taking your daughter. I hope y’all have a great time!
Thank you for the advice on theme park accessibility Cayla, Being 20/200 in my right eye, visual details are hard for me so, the Audio Description device sounds really handy. I saw videos about it here on RUclips.
Hello Keila thank you for this great video thank you for mentioning the audio description did not know that Disneyland had a audio device that blind people can use. keep the videos coming.
Good video! I've been to both Disney's a lot as well (my parents have a DVC membership). We went last year before I got trained on my white cane and used sighted guide technique. It worked pretty well. I'll have to hit up Guest Services next time for one of those descriptive audio devices. Also for anyone that's VI that sees this and is a big Star Wars fan - the new Smuggler's Run ride is a blast, but you'll want your sighted party members to be the pilots haha! Cayla, do you have any pointers/insights about using a foldable cane there? I love using my cane now but woudl be a little unsure of what to do with it loading up into rides (especially thrill rides like the Aerosmith Rockin' Coaster or the Tower of Terror).
We always bring a backpack when we go to the parks with things like sunscreen, a rain jacket, etc. So I fold up my cane and put it in the backpack when I’m not using it. It definitely comes in handy for rides but also if my wrist gets tired walking around the park and I want to put it away and just go sighted guide for a bit
What is your favorite unique food to have there? I enjoy unique food and my husband is big into it. LOL. We've done more Universal Harry Potter parks and such clearly but Disney is good too. I always wanted to do Haunted Mansion for Halloween but then there are a ton of people there at that time. Still it would be spooktacular. Bella L
Hmmm that’s a good question. I wouldn’t say anything I get to eat there is particularly unique because I’m a little bit picky, although they have plenty of unique options. I would recommend checking out the RUclips channel called DFB guide. They have tons of Disney food videos
Thank you and for motion we were able to take a trip to Disney World about 10 years ago and we absolutely loved it PS do you know if they still have the winning the poo ride at Walt Disney World in Florida Thanks
Hello Cayla!! I'm a mother of 5 year old girl who is blind. I'm Korean and we live in Seoul, South Korea. I really love your videos and those are really helpful for our family♡. Recently, we went an amusement park in Seoul. and I found out there are some attractions that blind or visually impaired people can't ride. They say it's because those are not safe for visually impaired or blind person. It was so frustrating. So I was wondering. Is there any attractions in Disney (world or land) that they not let someone ride those only because of their disabilities?
Wow that is really frustrating. I’ve never heard of that and don’t understand why someone’s vision would make an attraction unsafe. I don’t think there’s anything like that in Disney
I'm torn on which cane to take. I have a super lightweight telescopic ID cane and a heavier fold up cane that is much longer. I don't really need a cane to get around but find it useful in crowds so people understand I can't see when I bump into them. Any advice?
Hi Cayla!!! No joke, but the day you posted this video, I was at Disneyland in California. I have a question. Do you use a NoteTaker? If so, what type do you use: BrailleNote, or BrailleSense? Also, if you get the Audio Description device, MAKE SURE IT IS NOT IN THE CLOSE CAPTIONING SETTING!!!!! This may, or may not, have happened to me recently. It sucked.
Wow what a coincidence. And that has happened to me too. I stood in line and got the device and then we got on our first ride and realized it was in close caption not audio description. So then we had to walk all the way back and wait in line again. So now I make sure to always check it before I leave guest services. And no I don’t use a note taker
@@CaylawithaC Hahaha. I also had an experience where the device just straight up crashed while me and my sister were in line for Haunted Mansion. I think Disney should consider making another app with the Closed Captioning and Descriptive Audio on it.
Hey Kayla I had a question. Are there any special accommodations for standing in line I’m specifically wondering if there was a ride I wanted to ride and someone with me didn’t wanna ride would they still have to stand in line with me
That’s a good question and I’m not really sure. I’m pretty sure if someone doesn’t want to ride the ride they could wait in line with you and then exit without getting onto the ride. But if they didn’t want to wait in line at all I’m not really sure

Thanks for the tips!! I am a huge Disney fan too. I hope they bring the shows/parades back soon to Disneyland & DCA!!

Very informative video. We hope you are enjoying your job. We have missed your regular videos
Yes I am very much enjoying my job, but it has been keeping me busy so I haven’t had as much time for RUclips

Great video as always. Keep it up!
Just had your channel open 10 minutes ago wondering if you were on vacation and then i refresh it andthis video appears
Lol what a coincidence. I know I haven’t been as active lately, but it makes me smile that you were wondering about me
@@CaylawithaC glad to hear that
I still support your channel my friend love you guys
Thank you. I always appreciate you
@@CaylawithaC I appreciate you I will always support your channel
Also I always had trouble walking through lines for dark rides. And if there’s only a rope it’s hard to navigate with a cane
Hi Cayla!! It is so great to hear you!! I sure have missed u!! How are things with u and your husband? What have u been up too?
Hi! It’s always great to hear from you as well. Me and my husband are both doing well. We’ve just been busy with work lately

Yes the Winnie the Pooh ride is still there in both Florida and California. It’s one of my favorites

Probably the lightweight one. It can definitely be a chore using a cane all day long

Couldn’t the disney app or any app provide audio description? Then you don’t have to stand in line for the special device.
That’s definitely a great idea. I hope they will do that in the future
