Predestination theology is empowering and assuring because it is the only way those given ears to receive faith can hear the promise that is for them from the hiddenness of the cross of Jesus Christ.
The biblical narrative back up that our will is in bondage. All we have to do is look at the Israelites and even if they wanted to get free, they couldn’t they had no power. God had to come to the rescue and set them free from outside of themselves. It’s the same way with us. Thanks God!!
i don't have a problem with the basic idea of predestination. In that God is outside of time., and everything has been made by him. Where i become concerned. Is when people act like we do not have free will. There is the ability to place more emphasis on salvation just being predestined. Over it being a choice for us to accept Jesus as Lord and savior. If you believe in your heart that everything is completely predestined and out of your control. You run the risk of not accepting Jesus and his Lord and Saviour due to a person assume they have been saved due to predestination. Over emphasis on predestination, also under appreciates the struggle of the fallen world and the battle of the spirit realm, which we are subjected to daily.
We have no free will when it comes to spiritual things. Plus all things play out according to God’s will only, so our will gets pushed out of perspective.
@@villarrealmarta6103 Of course we have free will. We can say no. With out free will God himself is damning people to hell. There is no love, no need for judgement if everything is predestined. There is a difference between predestined in that God knows everything before it ever happens. And predestined, we have no choices that are not already scripted. There is no need for Jesus to die if we have no choice.
@ please see my comments below. You do not seem to believe that God holds the salvation of all in His hands. If He left it up to us to decide Him, He’d be waiting forever because without the gift of faith implanted in us we could never move towards God. The natural man is only hostile to God and cannot submit to God’s Law.

@ that’s not completely what scripture reveals but I honestly don’t want to go down a rabbit hole of back and forth this way.
