  • Where do I even begin? We all need to take better care of our health. I have had a pretty big wake up call recently. In todays video I explain how the side effect of stress can lead to very poor health. 2020 has had a big impact on everybody, even if you think you're handling it well there is still a lot of emotions we are all dealing with. If we are not careful, the stresses of life will impact our overall health. So, eat right, drink plenty of water, say your prayers and trust in Him, then, get some rest!
I love you guys, your comments are always so encouraging, I hope I can be of some encouragement to you as well.

When I opened you tube, this video popped up. I have followed Grandma and Grandpa Griffiths for about 5 years and thoroughly enjoy your videos. I'm not a religious person myself, but truly respect your commitment to your religion. I know you are currently going through a horrible time. Please don't blame yourself. As parents, we tend to do that, Once our children are adults, they make their own decisions in life and no matter what we instill in them while growing up, they still make their own decisions. Unfortunately, I think your daughter has been brainwashed. You must be so frustrated, but please, remember that you still have your other children and grandchildren who love you and are grateful to have you and Chad. My heart goes out to you and I pray that this media frenzy stops so you can get back to normal. With love and hope. Delee

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been in such pain. Somehow, watching you and your family on RUclips looks as if your lives are perfect. We see that you as well as Bonnie and Ellie suffer from stress like we all do at times. Thank you for showing you’re real and letting us know, nothing’s perfect although it may appear to be. Coping with stress is the factor that determines how it effects our lives. I’ve never had kidney stones but I have had a gallbladder attack which also mimics a heart attack. Wishing you a successful surgery and speedy recovery!

Please, do not worry. I was a Urology nurse at the Mayo Clinic for many years and I worked in surgery with Urologists that were the very best in this area of medicine. The procedure that you are going to have is low risk and the relief and recovery will be great. I am so sorry that you have suffered so long with this illness. I, too, need to drink more water. Your heartfelt message alerts all us 60+ year women to take better care of ourselves for ourselves and our families.
I enjoy watching you and Chad on this adventure called life. You will be in my prayers, as well as Chad, that the surgery is successful and your pain and anxiety are relieved. I, too, went through surgery this year having a second, total hip replacement on August 20th. I’m just now starting to walk without a cane but still in some pain. We are tough ladies Jennifer and we will get through all these things. I’m also a Latter-Day Saint who used to live in Utah. Jennifer I've had 5 kidney stones, my pain was unbearable, they had me on demerol and morphine and I still had pain. I literally cannot lay still. One time on a greyhound bus at 2 am between Las Vegas and St George I had a kidney stone, this was way before cell phones, I didn't have anything to take, so I prayed constantly asking God to help me pass it, I wasn't going to stop praying until He helped me, after about 40 minutes I could feel the stone pass! The power of prayer and the comfort of Heavenly Father was the best medicine I've had.

I HOPE YOU SEE THIS!!! Grandma Griff I've been watching your family on RUclips since I was 18 I'm 25 now! You will never understand how your family has impacted the way I got through those years in my life I was such a hurt young girl I always wanted a family but I don't think I quite knew how I would love them since I never experienced that love myself. Watching you guys I swear I saw my way through I saw how it took endless love ,understanding and unselfishness to raise a family.I learned so much patience. On Christmases and holidays when I was alone I would watch you guys how y'all interacted with each other and I knew the type of woman I had to be to make it happen for myself in my own family. You changed so much of my life just by me watching the way you loved and lived yours. So not only are you a matriarch in your own family but you are in some way one in mine as well as one of those people that will influence the way I raise my own children and build my own family. There's honestly so much I could say but all of that story just to say you're so deeply in my thoughts and prayers. You're so strong! 💕

Eventually I ended up urinating blood. Yep... severe kidney infection. No stones thank GOD! I've never had another kidney infection since, and that was 28+ years ago. My boyfriend has Stage 4 kidney disease, so I completely understand your concerns and worries. In addition to your water intake, you may want to look at foods that are good/bad for the kidneys. It may require an overall diet change to help keep your kidney as healthy as possible. I will be praying for you and know God is with you!
PS - I've suffered with kidney stones before and it was the woooooorst pain of my life. My back was spasming so badly, I could not even stand up and was literally crawling on the floor to get across the room. So, I understand your pain. I've never had surgery, but I had a unrelated surgery last week and was laying next to a woman who was getting her kidney stones removed. I was listening to her doctor and it sounded like she was getting the same procedure you had. They both sounded positive about the surgery and it seemed like a pretty routine surgery. One thing I overheard, was that apparently one of the stones had an issue and wasn't going to come out easily, so they were going to put a stent in and let it try to pass on its own. So, I think that could be a potential challenge if they get in there and it can't be surgically removed.

HI!!! Oh my gosh I am so sorry to hear of all of you pains!! I can definitely relate! I was diagnosed with a kidney disease when I was 16 and have dealt with it for over 20 years now. It started out as stones and infections. It's definitely nothing to take lightly, but just listen to your body. I wish you nothing but the best with your surgery and recovery and I will be saying lots of prayers for you and your family! You got this!!

I can SO relate to your story! I also have kidney stones now and have got a nephrostomy operated from my back into my right kidney. The reason for that is that the stone has blocked the passing of the urine for so long that I had got hydronefrosis and a huge infection/beginning of an sepsis. I will have my surgery this coming Tuesday and do not look forward to that because I have very, very bad experiences from my last kidney stone operation in 2018!! I wish you good luck on your operation and hope you will be feeling well soon 🙏🍀❤️💐

I’m so glad you’re having the operation! My Granny (and best friend) ended up going into septic shock because she had kidney stones and we didn’t know. The worst six weeks of our lives. Please go to the doctor sooner next time! You have such a huge caring family that needs you. ♥️

I wanted to share with you. God is our rock, our fortress, and our way out. We sing that verse at church but we don’t know what it means. Rock is a precipitous cliff; it when we are in our walk and reach a place where we don’t know what to do. We need to cross but need God to get through it. He is our fortress which means a net used to catch animals; that means God allows the rock so He can capture our attention like a net. He will show us what we must do to get through. I will be praying for you.

It's pain that no one will understand unless they've had stones. I suffered for over 2 years because my stones were not stones yet but sludge so I had to wait. Finally after not be able to endure the pain I was rushed to the hospital when they confirmed I had stones finally. Lucky I opted for the vibration treatment and it was a success. Boy or Boy do I feel like a 100 bucks now. Good luck and many blessings on a quick recovery

With heart attack symptoms and the nausea, if it’s still continuing, I’d get checked out for gallstones. That has been a huge issue for a lot of people- my husband included-and he had to get his taken out. Just something I thought of with your symptoms. ❤️

Prayers for you!! I’m only 20 years old but have been getting kidney stones almost every other year since I was 15. I’ve had several stints put in as well as lithotripsy. All procedures are scary but before each one my grandfather (who is a pastor) comes and prays with me, it gives me peace. I hope you have no more kidney stones and can finally get back to normal! 😊

As a dialysis nurse, I beg you to please take care of your kidneys & your heart. Women seem to be ignored when it comes to heart issues, specifically heart attacks. We also seem to have unusual symptoms compared to men. We women can’t do things simple!😂
As far as your kidneys, dialysis is not a great way of life. Hemodialysis patients have to be hooked to a machine for an average of 4 hours at a time 3 days a week every week for the rest of their lives. Once a person starts dialysis (stage 5 kidney disease), they have a lifespan of 10-20 years depending on compliance with diet and treatments. A renal diet is hard to follow as well. What may be healthy for a normal person can be fatal to a renal failure patient. Things like oranges, cantaloupe, strawberries, potatoes, tomatoes, bananas, are all high in potassium. Potassium, and other electrolytes like calcium & magnesium, are regulated by the kidneys. If potassium gets too high, it can be fatal. Your kidneys also filter out toxins like urea & phosphorus and they rid of the fluids we drink. They also tell the bone marrow to make red blood cells and control blood pressure. So almost all dialysis patients are chronically anemic. People on dialysis also should not take in more than 1 - 1.5 liters of fluid per day because the further the kidneys are damaged, the less they urinate.
So drink your water and take care of those kidney beans! 😉 Praying surgery goes well.
Also, I know what you mean about the pain meds. Anytime one of us gets a script for pain meds (wisdom teeth, minor surgeries …) whatever is leftover, we keep in a cabinet that only hubby & I know about.
