I've learned to be skeptical when games make big claims. I'll believe it's the successor of Sc2 when I see it. It would be cool, but I don't want to hope in vain.
Omg that is almost the same as me. Played most of the games. Unreal Tournament and SC1 and SC2 were my favorite. Age of Empires is ok, but I like the modern look abs gamelan of SC.
Nostalgia is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, there have certainly been more innovative, fun, great games that have come out other than those. Better games. Unless you specifically only play RTS
Played AOE4 for a few hundred hours, and I think it's a very good game overall. But all it did is serve as a gateway drug that eventually led me back to Starcraft 2.
Harstem. The only SC2 content creator who didn’t sell their soul to hype up some unknown game. These other guys in the community are laughable hyping up this game. It’s so bad lol. They know it to but won’t say a word.
Beyond all reason is the rts to play after sc2. It's extremely fun. 1v1 mode however, sc2 is always the benchmark and stormgate is not really shaping up all that well imo. But I can imagine myself moving to zerospace because the game actually seems quite innovative in a few areas
I for myself dont like the graphics (too washy-fortnity) and the type of fantasy. They seem to know what theyre doing, but I just hope it wont end SC2 cause I's be sad loosing all my beloved sc2 casters like the DutchDuo Harstem and Lowko to it
It’s not the art style that’s the problem it’s the bland design like you could do cool things such as the imps or the dog but most of vanguard and celestials just look boring worse they seem to play boring. I’d check out immortal gates of pyre it hasn’t gotten the coverage that SG and zero space have but the art style is amazing and the hot key system makes playing a breeze even with different factions and diverse armies.
Eh. StarCraft is a sci-fi RTS with three races that each play with a theme to their abilities. Don’t get me wrong, I love StarCraft, play a bit every week and watch pretty much every day (@WinterStarcraft!), buuuut the competent devs who made StarCraft II can just make an original Sci-Fi RTS and it can have all the same charm and systematic competence (or better). I am a bit concerned if there’s just two races though… could get a bit stale without more diversity.

I gotta agree with Harstem man nothing's gonna match that high Apm fast reaction gotta be looking everywhere no brakes Go Go Go ... there is nothing like watching Serral get 1920 action per minute when the brawling starts ... I like storm Gate and the idea of a new RTS ... But sc2 is the most competitive 1v1 game ever

I'm pretty sure they won't make the game as fast paced. They Will prioritize making the game more accesible and fun to play for the average player in order to have a stronger foundation of players. Thats why they Focus on 3v3 and other not so hardcore stuff
IF, again IF, they deliver it might just be Starcraft 3, but also from what they are saying it should be better designed game with more mechanics/cool features like better map editor but also a different game feel so it might be better as game design goes, but not necessarily more fun to play imo

We have been conditioned to hype eachother up when new hype games come out. Mostly i dont think its the players fault, they might not even know they are brainwashed into this trend
It's not even close to being finished, no one can say whether it's going to be good or not. I will say from the game play I've seen it's smooth and is a good mix of sc2 and wc3 in feel but everything we see could, and a lot will, change by the time the game comes out.
Honestly I'm willing to play any other rts, StarCraft2 will always be in a good place in my heart but this community is what I think truly matters and what makes StarCraft2 perfect Edit: the game absolutely sucks

I think they are trying too hard to make it different than the starcraft formula that worked so well..... Ill give it a try but im not expecting to enjoy it nearly as much as i enjoyed Broodwar/sc1 or Sc2
It's less going away from sc2 and more including part of Warcraft 3. Having played both a bit it definitely feels like a mix of the two. I think the game looks like it's going to be a ton of fun. Now only time will tell on what the game will be and what kind of playersbase it will get.
Ppl are too concerned with whether or not new rts games can conquer sc2 as if the rts genre has to be a 1 game genre ... It's annoying because ppl will say if an rts game is gonna be successful it has to do all these things that sc2 does which just isn't true and the idea that every rts has to play like sc2 to be successful is just depressing ... Enjoy the new games, if they are good enough they will develop their own scene just like plenty of other games have such as bfme2 or halo wars
We dont want it to be starcraft 2. We want a better game than sc2. And the more they show the more we know its not going to be better than sc2. People like you are settling for less and its killing the rts genre.
THANK YOU it's like thinking Street Fighter players are going to uninstall their game as soon as a new Mortal Kombat game drops. Both game thrive because there are elements in either game that people prefer. I wish them the best but no game will ever come near SC2 (except SC1 but that's in Korea) as the world's top RTS game.
I feel the same about that. Devs are capable but since we don't know much about the actual gameplay yet, we just have to wait.

Starcraft, Diablo,Heroes 3, Ceaser 4.
For shooters - Quake 2/3, CS 1.5, Unreal Tournament.

The pace of the game is just too slow to be entertaining from a viewership's perspective, hence a low value for sponsorship/e-sports

Stormgate right now is not that good, its not fun, fights are a mess and units are not cool.

I don't think any game will match starcraft 2 i have watched some games of stomrgate but the models seem way too small and just does not seem as good.
