So many mental notes reflecting on watching this. What I heard was... 1. Pick up and reinforce boundaries (will continue to navigate how this will look) 2. Put down burdens (I can only control so much, let go and let God) 3. Be open and receive opportunities that though may be different from what I thought, will feed into my intended purpose 4. Have fun with the small things, ie, how I want to take care of my body, mind, spirit (take a salsa class for cardio, hit up museum events every so often, establish a professional development goal while Im in school, establish a school goal) 5. Continue to give myself grace, but learn to constructively kick myself in the ass 😅 6. Put all of the above in perspective and make BINGO cards for the year. Love this visual push. Setting boundaries is the best thing you can do for yourself and others. You teach people how to treat you and it's a beautiful gift when you do. There is absolutely no time for trying to figure everyone out because at the end of the day our mental health and stability is what counts. I learned that I was giving so much energy to different people and things yet feeling completely drained afterwards. My uncle brought a cake for Christmas and she ate half of it in one day.She kept saying she’s going for water but she was actually going for cake. I had to confiscate the damn thing lol ….we have to laugh
Carlos hit me HARD when he said I would rather have my Mom going through her dementia than not have her at all!!😭 I lost my Mom 38yrs ago she was only 49!! I would have done anything for her to still be here. Carolyn you and Carlos are very blessed enjoy your parents as long as you can!!!❤❤❤
My older brother is going thru similar medical issues and with the dementia. The hospital called it sundown time, when dementia patients start to get confused in the evenings. We just go with the flow. I’m glad to her prognosis was upgraded. My prayers to your family.

2025 came in rough and soft at almost the same time but with all the things I learned last year I can now sit hear and appreciate EVERYTHING and give myself LOVE AND GRACE. This is so true boundaries with not only family members but with friends as well have to be set. With family I could still love them, but I love them from across the street and friends as well. You have to give them both that wait a minute that’s not something I like we have to sit down and discuss that and if they don’t understand it, then I can love them both from across the street as well. My energy is not going to be drained and I will not be stressed 😫 but I will try to give grace when needed.
I’ve learned that how people treat me isn’t really about ME. It’s a reflection of what they have going on within themselves. You’re right about not taking it personal. Exit the situation with love and leave it there.

We put our mom in a nursing home because we finally didn't have the time, the know-how to take care of her since she has Alzheimers. This is so hard for our family and we also don't tell her things about who has passed because we don't want to upset her and make things worse for her mentally. Play the music she grew up on. We do that with my mom. She responds and loves it.

This is so true boundaries with not only family members but with friends as well have to be set. With family I could still love them, but I love them from across the street and friends as well. You have to give them both that wait a minute that’s not something I like we have to sit down and discuss that and if they don’t understand it, then I can love them both from across the street as well. My energy is not going to be drained and I will not be stressed 😫 but I will try to give grace when needed.

We put our mom in a nursing home because we finally didn't have the time, the know-how to take care of her since she has Alzheimers. This is so hard for our family and we also don't tell her things about who has passed because we don't want to upset her and make things worse for her mentally. Play the music she grew up on. We do that with my mom. She responds and loves it.
