Growing a beard will change your life! It truly is a unbelievable experience. The #1 change is freeing yourself of worrying about what others think of you. If I had a dollar for all the positive comments I'd be rich. I've gone through the negative stage and it's part of the process but really helps you realize a lot about yourself and others. You grow mentally and spiritually with your beard. Patience is so important in growing a beard and it helps every part of your life. It's such a journey and frees you up from so many things it's incredible. I'm more calm, less worried about what people think of me, and have learned to enjoy being me and love having a beard. It's a full beard now and you almost graduate to another level when it grows longer. The positive comments and conversations are more frequent and it's amazing how strangers respond to the beard. Extremely rewarding experience. Beard on my brothers

Gray Bailey thanks brother. Appreciate all your help along the way my friend. Love the videos and your amazing advice on beards and life in general. If I may add to my earlier comment by saying when you talk to another bearded brother or strangers with beards they know exactly what you have gone through. It's a mutual appreciation of the journey. Much respect to you bud👊

I started mine the first of the year when i got out of the military. Joined when i was 18. Never grew a beard before then and its an everyday shave while you’re in. now im 35 and growing a beard for the first time in my life. Almost 3 months into my yeard!!! Thank you for the videos. Love the content and learn a lot from you during my exciting new journey!

I just hit a year this month & you’re absolutely correct about the comments from various people. I also experienced different feelings throughout the stages of growth. My only regret was shaving the neck for a few months before realizing that neck growth is a part of making my beard fuller. Thanks for your videos. Very inspiring. 👍👍

I took up the years gauntlet on 27 December, 2015. Almost at 11 months, and I arrived at the same sentiments independently; letting it grow teaches patience, teaches one to deal with slights and insults, too. I wish I had started a VLOG back then, but I do have Before and During pics. I feel like the year mark will be difficult because while I would probably let it continue to grow, I have a feeling someone very important to me will probably be expecting me to shave (or at least trim it back to a normal beard). I would hate to shave it, as it's just getting where it's growing really well!

Mr. Bruno my Yeard Journey began the first week of December 2016 and I have never felt such a sense of responsibility and dedication to anything in comparison to my beard. I religiously have followed your advice regarding oils and balms and I'm loving every time I go out and find another product that you have made a review on. I'm a bit camera shy but I think I'll take your advice and start a webcast of my Yeard journey, so look out for that. Thank you for all of your inspiration and knowledge, and as you always say........."Let it grow and let it flow"!!!!

Hey dude! Just wanna say that almost a year ago (couple weeks 'til a full yeard) I watched this video after a show in Philly and instantly knew this was the change I wanted in my life. I started smoking a pipe again and let the beard flow. My beard is nourished, glorious, and only trimmed a handful of times over the course of the year. It's been an experience, brotha! Thank you for the inspiration. I don't know if I even want to part with this beard!

Hey Gray, enjoyed sharing your commute with you. I shaved my 30 mo. beard last spring when my mom was diagnosed with cancer so that she could see my face again before she left God's green earth. In August, once again, I put away the razor and am now well into another yeard. I am impatient to have my full beard back, yet in some ways enjoying the journey more this time around knowing what lies ahead. Beard On! Zen Dog

George!, your voice, personality and yeard are all calming and mesmerizing.
I’ve just decided to start documenting my yeard growth and head hair growth while forming a RUclips channel around beards along with other topics.
Also on the topics of animals and beards. I rub a homemade balm including peppermint oil on my beard and my cat loves the smell of the peppermint oil and she will follow me all around the house waiting for me to sit down so she can jump in my lap and get up on my chest and will smell my beard for as long as I’ll let her. 😂
Anyways. Love the channel George. Hope to see your comments and subscription once it’s up and running. I’ll update this comment with my Channel later. Bye.

I just found this video. THANK YOU! I started my beard in March of 2020. I was told, after one month.. . that my "cultural background" would result in a raggedy patchy mess. I learned patience, self confidence and tolerance during this time. I ride a motorcycle (LOL) I really fit the part now. I wish my beard had your length but hey, only have 2 months to go. Patches all filled in. I have NOT trimmed it but use Beard Balm to keep it from flying out. March 27th I will have my YEARD. thanks for your encouraging video!!!! It means a lot. jon

I've had the same experience, at conferences in the last year since growing a beard. 30 years of being in the background suddenly people remember me and approch me for conversation. with years of experience in my field I do have something to offer, its just weird its taken a beard to be taken seriously and remembered.

im just over a year late in seeing this video but I began growing in july, cut it in the end of September. I began regrowing toward the end of October but I kept on shaving my mustache up until the end of October. I am now almost 2 months into growing and now I see your YEARD video and I think to myself .. wow, what an idea. I began watching you because I wanted to smoke a pipe. cigarettes are a quick fix, and they ALWAYS smell horrible. I remember my grandpas pipe smell was very pleasant and I always remember him with his pipe. id like to be remembered in a similar way in life. I have adhd and am always trying to find alternatives to pills to keep me calm.. your videos stood out to me, I bought a corncob pipe, and really enjoyed it! the Missouri meerschaum great dane is absolutely my favorite at the moment. ive received so many compliments over my aromatic choice and on the presentation of my simple little corn pipe. I can really take time and think and reflect on life and my future decisions, past decisions and how I can improve my situation in life. the whole process of learning how to select my tobacco, then how to pack my pipe, how to properly smoke, just the whole process is therapeutic for me. YOU have helped me a lot sir and I thank you.

Great video Gray. Wanted to let you know that November 6th marked 6 months of beard growth for me. I have never been able to grow a beard before due to my profession. I turned 60 in June this year. I really enjoy viewing your videos. I am looking forward to reaching a year. I really love my beard and will probably only have the cheek line trimmed by a pro with a straight razor. Other than that, I intend to let it just keep growing and see what the Lord has blessed me with. My beard grew in with not having to trim the neck line. It's exactly where it should be. Prior to six months I only used beard oil on my stash and beard. I find now that I need to use beard balm and mustache wax to groom it or it becomes hard to manage. Keep up the wonderful work that you share with all of us brother. God bless and take care. Billy Mike

I decided to commit and grow the beard(or Yeard) as the community would say! I've always grown a small beard ( a few weeks ) then just shave it off. Last time I shaved was few days before Thanksgiving and it's now January 4th and have some good growth going on. What surprises me.... is my wife loves it and has encouraged me let it grow. That's why I decided to check out RUclips for some info and found this channel. Thank you sir for providing great info and instructions for this "New Beardy" ( have no idea if that even makes sense) and I'm determined to hold this out till next Thanksgiving and see how I like it. Thanks again sir.
    God Bless, and Thanks again🇺🇸👍

Instantly regretted it because it just did not look right no matter what I did for about 6 months. Been back in full beard mode now for at least 4 years. I found this one while watching the one that was posted on Lux Bastard quick review. Pipe smoker I am as well, a gentleman I try to be. A yeard challenge? I am on the 3 month. My mug on RUclips? lol that will be the toughest to do My profile pic was a long time ago during my Navy stint. Have a great day!
Thanks for all you do Grey aka SOS

I am currently at my 6 month mark. I have started noticing that people tend to hate on my beard. it is hard to ignore them sometimes

"Hey homeless" LMAO, that is what my father said to me. Hahahahaha. Most people compliment my beard and many ask how long it took to grow it.

Both my hair and my beard grow so slowly, I look back at my yeard pictures and it's nothing compared with where I am now. I'm about 6 years now, with only a very very occasional trim along the way. And I'm finally where I want to be. (Not had a formal haircut in four years either! Again just a bit of home trimming to keep the wildness somewhat tamed). It's worth toughing it out.

I am almost on year 3 of my beard and mustache. Love your videos. I am tempted to shave and start over just to do a daily video update of my beard growth.

I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been having problems with my beard. My beard has 3 phases: Sandpaper, soft, then Coarse. I hit coarse within a short time and short length and it stays coarse from then on. No one's ever told me about beard oil/balm. I can't wait to get some and see how it does. Just for info purpose only I'm 39, white, and my beard color hits the full hair color chart (including white).

Made the mistake of trimming off a couple of inches a few months ago and growing back. I have a similar beard to yours, big long and white, but not as long as I would like. Hoping to FINALLY get to a yeards length. Still have moments I think I should trim but resisting with the use of beard balms and oils to keep it under control. I say with big beards come big responsibility and through watching your videos hoping I surpass my record length.
    Cheers

I would love to try this. My employer wouldn't allow it - but once I'm able to step away and be 100% freelance from my voice over studio, I'd love to try this. My bride would be totally fine with it!

The last time I shaved was just before Valentine’s Day 2019. So I’m going to mark that as my yeard start date. I know you know longer have the beard but these older videos still show a great support in starting and maintaining the growth. I appreciate and enjoy listening to ya. I don’t know how to do a RUclips video so I might have to snoop around on here and figure that out. Thanks for all your supportive videos.

I'm going for the yeard. I've learned so much about being patient. Every week is a small victory. The compliments I get because of the beard helps too 😉

52.5 days in. I shaved my whole head, not just the face (hair + beard). I don't plan to stop anytime soon. I will let it grow and flow. Challenge accepted, good sir. Cheers.

I'm going to accept the challenge of growing a "yeard". I've attempted it twice now and gave in right at the 9-month mark both times. You've inspired me George. I will endeavor to persevere. P.S. ~ I used to be a cigar smoker (a-hole), now I'm an everyday pipe smoker, lol.
