Im a paediatrician in my forties.
Two years ago, alhamdulillah we finally had our son after more than 2 decades of marriage.
Years before we had him, my husband who is also a doctor and myself always had this understanding that whenever a child came into our lives, that one person needs to be home to care for the child, regardless of how far or how successful their career has gone.
Alhamdulillah the day finally arrived and Allah swt made it easy for us to have this arrangement where dad goes to work and shoulder the financial responsibilities fully while mum is home to be with the little one and manage the home scene.
Its been a few years now of being a SAHM, I dont miss my hospital job one bit. I think we are ALL happier and thriving alhamdulillah. The house is clean, there is always healthy, home-cooked food at home, the pets are doing well and the garden is looking amazing. Alhamdulillah wa shukrillah.

Alhamdulillah that’s an amazing story. Mashallah. I think this aligns with the Islamic values we are speaking of in the video. However it is indeed tough naturally as everyone’s circumstances are different and may not permit that. I think child care is a very powerful topic and as Muslims we must begin addressing it

Yes, I've researched that phycologically it causes attachment disorders and emotional trauma and anxiety that plagues that child their entire life..
I feel we always look at things materialistically...value the money made, not through the lense of phycology and the brain development of that child and their upbringing. Islamically...the value is given to motherhood, not the money the woman makes (like in western society) and the money burdens are 100% given to the father for a reason. Allah made us, so He must know what the child needs better than us and a capitalist society

I have to agree. We did speak about both sides of this. My concern is also the same as yours. We tried to offer a balanced argument because of the needs of work/life balance. We should explore this more.
