    The one leaf that is really tall, it is like that because it is reaching for light. I have the same problem with my whale fin. I moved it to higher light and the next Leaf did not come out the same. It came out better

    Thank you for making learning, so enjoyable! I just bought a snake plant, about four clusters in one 6" pot. They have the variegated leaves, folded in a little. I really like it & will see how long it will thrve n the nursery pot. Its sutting inside a decorative pot right now. (Next...to repot a lovely jade, I've had a couple years.) Thanks again. I appreciate the inspiration!🌱🌻🌟🪴

    This is a rare snake plant as it grows real slow and when it grows pup, it is just one leave. Thanks for this video Jeff.

      It depends if it's already mature of not. I have a smaller whale fin and it's not gonna grow any bigger. If it's been one year, most likely thats the biggest it'll get.

    How often should snake plants be watered? My wife has a lot of them and she waters them once a week.

    • @_thevibespace
      @_thevibespace  6 месяцев назад

      Hello! These guys are drought tolerant so you don't even need to be watering these once a week, maybe once a month. Really wait until the soil is fully dry and then soak it heavily

    • @GreenWitch1
      @GreenWitch1 5 месяцев назад +1

      She probably knows what she’s doing. My soil dries out completely in one week, so they get watered. Yes, you can go longer, but the plant will suffer as this video demonstrates.

    I was given two snake plants that are 4 foot tall. All the ones I see on RUclips are no more then two feet. What can I do to make these plants healthy. Also when I reported from the ugly plastic pots they came in and added miracle grow I am now infested with gnats. I've only watered once in the two months I've had the plants with a peroxide water mix. Used Miracle grow when I repotted. Bought mosquito bits but waiting for plant to get good and dry, is this right to rid myself of the gnats? And what do I do about this plant growing so tall. I have it in front of a window, but have no idea where the previous person has it

    • @_thevibespace
      @_thevibespace  5 месяцев назад

      Oh no, not gnats! Luckily it's an easier problem to fix compared to other pests. I'd move the plant outside in a shaded area so the plant gets more light and would allow the soil to completely dry much faster. Gnats possibly could have occured because after watering, the soil wasn't drying up too fast. If you have your plant in a low light area, it wouldn't require much water.

    • @kellylynn6831
      @kellylynn6831 5 месяцев назад

      @@_thevibespace unfortunately taking it outside is an issue as my apartment is on the third floor and is way too heavy to move far. Going to b going away for a week next week so hoping to put mosquito bit on just before I leave and let the apartment get hot so the plant will dry out and the adults get stuck on the sticky strips. They are tricky, thought I got got rid of them, wasn't bothered for three days then they came back with vengeance. Waiting til next week just before I leave to add more mosquito bit, don't want to make it to moist. I put some on about a week ago but the soil is still damp halfway down.

    • @moiraslater8526
      @moiraslater8526 3 месяца назад

      Add pumice to the soil as it will deal with that gnats and add aeration to the soil. Some snake plant varieties grow very tall. Snake plants can grow in any light. Many of mine are in full sun.

    • @moiraslater8526
      @moiraslater8526 3 месяца назад

      Even a layer of pumice on top of the soil if you don't want to repot. I never use bagged soils as they seem to bring in gnats and other problems.
