Think about the CPU savings and effectively seamless “switching” possibilities this can create. THIS is the type of useful content decade plus Fractal users are clueless to. Keep it up!
Great video! I use the Pitch Follower in many ways, including on the Parametric EQ for mud removal around 250 Hz and also a small 1k boost during low chugs. Then as I go up the neck, the EQ flattens out for leads. Works great. Of course, also for delay mix volume as well as amp boost level in the Ideal tab of the amp block. Thanks Leon, keep on rockin'!
This is something for advanced Users, which i do not belonged to. But it's great to know that thinks like this are possible. Thanks Leon for sharing your knowhow.
You are an advanced user! Your using Fractal, enough said! I know what you mean.... I've had my FM9 for a year and didn't know about the Pitch Follower...I guess if I read the manual that might help! doh!
Okay this is getting pretty deep. I understand everything you are talking about and I can hear exactly what you have done to the sound. But I just need to get one of those fractals and go to town with it. Love the vids.
Thank you very much for this tip Leon, I‘ll try with this technique with an envelope filter, from off on the lower notes to engaged on the highs! Might also use this in conjunction with an added lower octave on the lows only… I must try this!
I've set mine up in a similair way to the Mid control in the Amp Block and the Mix control in the Delay block. But connecting to the Input Trim and the Input Gain might make more sense. Gonna try that for sure. Thanx!
great idea, i've got it set on a ring mod for some crazy 'lazer' style sounds that go nuts depending on the pitch, and letting a low note ring out gives this long drawn out dive bomb style thing going on with delays, lots of fun
With several parameters I've been doing this with my vol pedal including a volume boost to avoid tap dancing to just play a quick lick and stay on my crunch patch. With this, for a lot of stuff all I need will be the crunch patch. This is great. What took you so long man?😂
I do a similar trick where I use the pitch follower in the input boost section of the amp. I use the clean boost mode and I attach the pitch follower to the amount of boost. I do fiddle afterwards to have a natural rise and fall of the boost if I switch from high to low register quite fast.
awesome feature and so unique to FAS.. by the way I apologize for wondering last week if this was your preset idea or Burgs.. it had been a few months since the Gift Of Tone series.. props LT!
Anybody tried this with a dual amp setup where the pitch follower controls the mixer levels? I'm thinking rhythm amp and lead amp all automatically switching depending where you are on the neck, could be awesome.
This is gonna be genius for when I'm playing Miserlou live. The low notes of the riff need to be cutting, but then when you play the octaves higher on the higher strings, the same guitar tone becomes too piercing. So I'm gonna try mapping the pitch follower to the treble knob so that it reduces the higher I go.
I was just thinking along the same lines... adding a bit of gain and bringing down treble a bit higher on the neck to help the old Tele not be so shrill when playing high notes.
I bought your axe fx iii pack. It came with the floor model presets too. Did it comes with this? It was hard to tell what you added and what is stock lol.
Leon. Don’t know if you’ll see this as it’s been a while since you posted this. I would like to see a way to have a tremelo duck out of the way of normal playing, but ramp back in at the end of a phrase?!? Any ideas?

Leon, among the many reasons I love your videos is because you explain the use case before offering the solution! Cheers!
Works great on drive pedals as well, I also use it to modify the tone so it thickens as I play higher.
nice, it's always good to be able to get 'more' when you go up the neck to compensate for the lower relative volume
Very cool & extremely usable in a live context. Thanx Leon
The pitch follower is one of the most amazing tools. I love every demo you’ve done on this. Thanks
Always amazes me!
fantastic

Excellent idea on the PEQ, gonna try that
Very useful demo. Gonna go play with this… cheers!
WOW this guy melted my ear drums and blew my mind at the same time in the vid. Great share!
Thank you for this video. I immediately tried it out with the FM3. It's sensational!
Trying this today, Leon you are opening up this device every week for me. And I put it to use practically every week.
This is huge. And I never knew about this. I will implement this immediately and that’ll eliminate the tap dancing on stage, changing presets
This is a never ending story!!!! What a feature!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 thanks so much. Fm9 is infinite 😍😍😍
I love what is possible on the Fractal units 🤘
Thanks a lot, Leon! Such an interesting feature. Can not wait when I can try it on my FM3.
That's a great feature and an excellent demo of it.
This is brilliant, thanks Leon, you rock!! Cheers from Portugal. 🤘
Very, very cool! I’ll be trying this trick today.
Fantastic, that’s why it’s a must to watch your video’s. I learn something new every time 🎸🎶. Going to try this out today on my FM9T.
Thanks 🎸🎸🎸
Awesome! You just saved me tons of time! I kept on trying to click on your SAVE button, too funny!
:p
Dude, that is SICK!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Amazing stuff.

Watching these videos if you don’t own a fractal had to be like torture

Mind blown!!!
Excellent tip! Will need to try it out! Nice to eliminate some switch dancing
RPA goodness courtesy Todorovich, for the win! Great stuff! 🤙🏼
excellent idea, I will test it on the FM9 !

Awesome idea!
i used this a while back with the pitch block, virtual capo, and even the quad chromatic type for some really special harmonization stuff.
Cripes. That's amazing.
This is awesome, thanks a lot!
OMG THIS IS AMAZING FOR A DYNAMIC NOISE GATE!!!!!!!!
this is amazing!!!!

That's a clever one!
This reminds me of the SurferEQ plugin. I had it set to track and shape the frequency of the note I was playing.
Awesome!

Loved it!
My mind is literally blown

I would love FRACTAL VST (software version) AXE FX/
Leon. Don’t know if you’ll see this as it’s been a while since you posted this. I would like to see a way to have a tremelo duck out of the way of normal playing, but ramp back in at the end of a phrase?!? Any ideas?
Holy shit, this rules.
Wow.
So it works kind of like an exciter?
Waooo!! 😮👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Can I do that with my Ax8!?!?!
wow
F@ck thats cool
(o o) Wow....!
FW 5.00 beta 👀👀👀
Full release just dropped!
Cool trick! Thanks Leon! BTW, you are starting to look one cucumber away from Derek Smalls.
:p
