Humphrey Campbell, Live at the Roode Bioscoop

On November 10, 2023 Humphrey performed Eddie Jefferson's version the great solo of Lester Young on the Harold Arlen classic It's Only a Paper Moon. Despite the liveliness of the concert with pianist Cor Bakker, Humphrey was already suffering and treated for cancer. It turned out to be one his last public performances. He passed away on March 25, 2024.
He will remembered as very talented and stylistically versatile singer, great performer and a a warm, amiable and humorous man.
