- Invisible Brown Man is a short film written by Pritesh Shah and Dennis Fallon. This remarkable story highlights the journey of Tejas Desai, an aspiring actor who faces constant backtracking in the face of Hollywood’s diversity casting. The theme of this short film addresses thought-provoking discussion around the true nature of tokenism, racism, objectification, and cast stereotyping for non-white actors and actresses in the film industry.
In the wake of uncovering his path and the pursuit of his dreams as an actor, Tejas Desai (Pritesh Shah) is taken into a journey that takes him into an inconsistent process Indian actors/actress must go through in the film industry. His family (Richa Moorjani (Never Have I Ever), Mona Sishodia, Sunil Narkar) are concerned about his well-being, and question if Tejas will be financially stable, successful, and triumphant in pursuit of his dreams.
This short film covers themes around 1st immigration children who are often discouraged in pursuing their dreams because of the fear that is instilled from thier immigrant parents. If an Indian actor is to have a part in the film, they are usually used as a token of cultural representation rather than being positioned as a lead. Tejas’ journey highlights the pressure, ridicule, inconsistencies, and major stereotyping Indian actors/actresses face when they’re pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Will Tejas make it?

I died with this movie. The father moment at the restaurant was hysterical.
Instead of laughing I screamed.

Great script and acting. I think this would make a great T.V. series!
True!
This is what I call a masterpiece. Funny, thought provoking, sad, well acted, great screenplay, great cinematography and most importantly GREAT MESSAGE - this is an instant classic! So proud of you and all your accomplishments Pritesh! 🥲 everyone is looking forward to more of this!

This is a funny, dark, painful, relatable tale of many brown men trying to be visible. Thank you for bringing this story to screen and filling it with emotions too! I genuinely hope that you, Pritesh, aren’t going to be invisible anymore after this! Well done, team!! The music, the edit, the videography, and performances are so fine!
Thanks so much! Coming from you, it means a lot. Been an amazing journey so far, let's see where it takes me. 🙏🏾❤️
Such a great story that crosses the brown spectrum. So proud of you!!!
@ahmed ali thank you for clarifying that for me! 🙄
You are amazing Pritesh! This is the first time I’ve ever seen content about South Asians in the industry. It’s so impactful, relevant and important. I am proud of you and I know this is just the beginning 🙏🏽
That’s our girl!! Congrats to all the actors!!!!
This was so well done ! The quality of story and the acting was just top notch ! This needs to be shared and appreciated as much as possible ! Absolutely love it !!
This is great! I hope the right people see this and it gets the recognition it deserves. Congratulations to the whole team!
What a masterpiece ! 😍
Thank you Pritesh.
You said everything in this short film.
The dad who teases his son, the lack of financial ressources as an artist and the reality of being invisible and so on...
At the end of the film I'd like to think that you get casted by the last producer who smiled... 🙂
Thanks so much for watching and supporting Stefan! I'm glad it resonated with you.
Incredible 🤩🤩
Holy shit. That was wonderful. The writing, directing and acting was absolutely fantastic. I love when someone is talented enough to put a hard message that has fallen on deaf ears for too long, into a comical and educational format. I think that's a really rare thing to accomplish. And that's what you did here man. Great job. Sharing with everyone. Can't wait to see the feature!
Wow. A story that made me laugh and cry at the same time. Thank you for sharing this!
Right?!? In less than 20 minutes

Bravo!!!! Very well done and hits a lot of the marks we need in modern society!!!
@ahmed ali ok
Amazing work on ALL levels and the perfect message! Sadly I used to witness that box checking on every job in my old world. Way to expose it ! CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
This is great - very nuanced and complex. Congrats my man, what an accomplishment!
This needs to be a series!
Pretty good, right on point, it's like Hollywood wants the "stereotype" person, rather than the "real person", of who they actually are.
Great insightful script! Love the performances. Well done Pritesh and team! This was a masterpiece; the way it was shot, the scripting, and the acting, the story. I think so much more people should see this. I really hope you get the recognition that you deserve! I hope there are sequels to the invisible brown man. Thank you for making “Invisible Man”

Sooo good! Loved Tejas' monologue at the end. But now I can't help but wonder what happened. This needs to be continued as a series on any of the streaming platforms. TBD...?
Amazing Performance & Script! Best of luck to you!
Just saw a reel from Instagram and came here ("the restaurant scene especially" 😂) . it's a short movie with a blend of humour, emotions , drama, acting , conveying the message, the reality everything hit just right with what was the output. So it's really a good one . I hope there are sequels to the invisible brown man looking forward to it . It's gonna be a hit . One part was only a hit for me at least .All the best. It was a good one .✨🤍🙌🏻

Love seeing work like this! It’s obvious you put your heart and soul into this story Pritesh. You speak volumes for the plight of many Indian American aspiring actors. I can totally relate to this and hopefully we can change this reality for the future generations! This pilot is so well done from start to finish. Best wishes in the future of this pilot and your personal journey! Looking forward to more of your work. 🙏🏼 - Joji Varughese, creator of Kappa & Croissants

Head of the housa🤣🤣🤣 I cant stop repeating
😂 thanks for watching and supporting
This is amazing
Coming from Instagram reels after the finger in restaurant scene 😂
Good acting. One negative is that you just disrespected Sikh’s like that by wearing a turban and then throwing it in the bin. Please research before acting on a certain character. If you are not sure what turban means or what it means to Sikh’s then have a look.
Turban (Dastar)
Among the Sikhs, the dastār is an article of faith that represents equality, honour, self-respect, courage, spirituality, and piety. The Khalsa Sikh men and women, who keep the Five Ks, wear the turban to cover their long, uncut hair (kesh). The Sikhs regard the dastār as an important part of the unique Sikh identity.
I request you to cut out that part as it will hurt our community.
I hope you understand!
Just a reminder: Ben Kingsley played Gandhi. Gandhi, an Indian man, the lead character... played by a white man. Even if thee lead is
Indian, they still wouldn't cast an Indian for the role!
Fire! Episode 2? 👀
dude i was thinking this was a new take on mr. india
4:52 here u go
The part you are looking for is at 4:45 🤣🤣
Anywhere. .... Indian parents are same
Hence the reason I stopped auditioning.
Is this movie out already
This is being pitched as a TV show!
Is it on Netflix,HBO MAX or Hulu yet?
Anyone here aftr watching this on Instagram? XD great work tho
