WHAT?!!! I bought this battery off Kickstarter for $130 and it's now THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS?!?!?!?! That's more than double the kickstarter price!! Were they really just taking that much of a loss with the kickstarter round? For the record, it's an amazing battery that I adore. Setting any voltage I want from the barrel plug is SUPER cool and being able to use a soldering iron or hot glue gun while on the go is pretty neat too. I'm just surprised by the mark-up
Supported this product since its kickstarter/indiegogo days and i gotta admit that i wouldnt pay $300 for it BUT because i was one of the original supporters i got BOTH for wayyyyyy cheaper and i gotta admit, this is the best power bank ive ever used/owned. seriously its so versatile and it has many great features. i just wish it wasn't as expensive BUT you do get what you pay for and thats awesome quality. ive even dropped mine before and its still held up strong.
I got this when they originally crowd funded it. I love it! I mostly use it for trips or even around the house when I need to charge something but also sit on the couch. I think every tech person should have one.
I was one of the indiegogo backers for this. If I knew it was going to be $300 retail I would have gotten more when we were backing it for $120! lol One thing that wasnt mentioned (Which I thought is super cool) are those laptop charging tips. They can be reversed to charge the unit itself off of nearly any PC laptop power adapter. I am in IT and I charge mine all the time at work using either Lenovo (square & round), Dell, or HP power bricks with the supplied tips. I wouldn't spend retail on this but the fact it can take nearly any voltage (4.5-36v DC) to charge itself is a decent selling feature.
Since it's been proved that manufacturing errors were to blame, it wouldn't be too hard for a tech savy to open a Note 7 up, and put a physically smaller battery in, so it doesn't explode. Also, disabling updates, so the battery isn't limited on charge would make this the best handset out there.
Naweed Aziz its dangerous for you and the battery, it slowly wears out the battery, and if it doesnt do that, eventually theyll both overheat and possibly explode
Informative video! - I bought a TESCO USB 12000mah rechargeable power bank for £34.99p, I've had it two years now and it's held a 99% charge for those two years!. A Great purchase, with amazing power reserves and smoked black glass finish on both sides.
>Battery bank >300 USD No, thanks P.S. You can buy 5 16k mah powerbanks from Xiaomi, getting you a ridiculous 80k.. But why do you need to do this if you have OLED screen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Антон Солярик Eightieth Raptor do you not understand. it costs that much cos it can do so much. yes it's a bit expensive for what it is, but nothing else can do all the things it can. charge AC/DC through a full sized socket, wireless charging, quick charge, passthrough power, DC out. nothing can do all that at the same time.
Gershon Dharmanandan : That's true but why would you need a device that can do all those things at the same time? You'd be better off getting the thing you need for YOUR specific use case, which would be way cheaper, and probably more portable as well.
Some people use battery banks to charge their laptops. Now that's fine if the laptop is off, but if you want to charge up your laptop while working? Those normal battery banks just aren't fast enough. This is fast enough to charge your phone, wirelessly, a laptop and even more. You could probably connect a tablet and another phone and maybe even more and it would be just fine. This is for power users (pun, very intended), not your average joe.
I have a long flight coming up next month so I've been doing some research on battery packs. Make sure to check with the airline you are flying with as they do have limitations on how big the battery pack can be. Most won't allow anything over 10,000 MAH. Just FYI
you should utilize every single power output option on it including wireless charging at the same time and see how long it lasts plus how much each device being usedgained in battery percentage, that would be cool/interesting to see
I currently have 5 different battery banks, each with 2 usb ports and all 12,000 - 15,000mah. I had a kickstarter make quickcharge bank, which no longer works but would charge its 17,000 mah in 60 minutes, pretty neat
Been looking at these battery banks for a while. The price is great, even without the QC and wireless. Great for long trips in places like Africa where a proper wall outlet is hard to come by. Power banks with wall outlet is very hard to come by.
Lou said juice 4 times hiring the video and 6 times when he mentioned the juice counter for a total of 10 mentions of juice (you can send my award anytime you like)
I was one of the original kick starter funders. I got an Omni Charge Pro which I think is even smaller than the two you have there however it supplies every bit of power I can use in every configuration I i would ever need. I can charge it off of solar power I can charge it off of my car batterie. I can charge it off anything and it powers anything, laptop, Bluetooth speakers, everything I need. I recommend it to anybody.
Being a backer since they started on Indiegogo, The Omni20 is the greatest battery on the planet. A side from laptops you can charge a variety of other things like cameras, drones, fans, etc. The possibilities are endless, if you're looking into purchasing one do it.
I like that he mentions that it isn't cheap. Usually he shows stuff that looks affordable but then you click the link and see the ridicolous pricetag. This thing is expensive as he said, but it does have a lot of features. Still not worth $300 IMO, but at least it looks fancy, I just wish it had 30 or 40K mAh. I have a battery bank that's probably 1/4 of this size and it has 20K mAh. If this thing gets a new version with more juice and maybe lower price in the future it would be a great thing to have IMO.
As a backer, I can tell you that unfortunately this appears to be a media kit, as backers only received a single adapter cable and tip. That said, the Omnicharge Pro is a very capable battery bank. If they were to release a 30000 mah option this year, and included the option for car jumper cables, I would probably get that too.
Finally I've found a battery bank that actually will do what it says on the tin. I'm so fucking tired of battery banks that either completely fail after a few charges or take 6, 15, or 26 hours to recharge. I'll probably actually buy this. Thank you for doing this unboxing for us.
IKR looks way better than my note 5 with those slim top and bottom bezels. He might've swapped out the battery for a different "safe" one not provided by samsung. who knows
Hey Buddy, What are the chances of you making a review of the new Omni Ultimate? With that review maybe a comparison of the Ultimate and the Omni 20! This would be amazing, Thanks Lew! Btw also looking forward to your full Pixel 3 review!!
I backed this thing on Indiegogo. I mean, it's an everycharger... you name it, it charges it. Especially if you have longer trips in public transportation or do like a lot of out in the field filmmaking, this thing will prove its every penny worth! :D
My dad made a "Power suit" for his work, there are wireless charging pads in both front pockets which are connected to a 16000 mAh battery in the souls of the boots... only problem is that his work is in security and once his pocket tasered a guy with a metal rod in his leg. I dont know why i told this story but its funny af
Wow, you're not kidding it's expensive. By far the most capable power bank out there though. Hard to justify buying one when you can buy a 20,000 mAh brick for 1/10th the price. If they made a dumbed down version without the oled screen and wireless charging they could cut the price in half and sell a lot more. Or swap the wireless charging for an integrated solar panel to charge the unit. The flow through charging is awesome. Even better if you are able to connect 2 or more to create a battery bank to where you could plug in a power strip and power multiple things if maybe the power went out or be used "camping".

Has an OLED screen... but it only displays black and white letter/symbols.
Seagull 78 oled save much battery than lcd
Seagull OLED Isn't just for fancy colors and stuff same with how LCD is for small black and white displays and color TVs and phones
There's different types of OLED screens, thinking that there's ONLY multi-colored OLED screens makes you a tad ignorant.
Oled screens can turn off individual pixels completely, which saves a lot of battery power...
They also burn in , and on that static display it seems like a really bad idea
Everything from Unbox therapy is "The best", "the loudest", "ultimate" recently.
That knife tho. But yeah cool battery.
