By any chance have you tried the loreal true match foundation and if you have what shade did you use? My skin tone is really similar to yours and your olive skin tone makeup product series has been so helpful esp for blushes!! Will you be doing a video for bronzers/contour as well?
I do own the original formulation in W6 which is actually slightly deep for me so I use it between spring and summer as I’m starting to get a tan. I don’t know how the shades for the new formulation would translate but I think the W4.5 looks closer to my skin tone. And thank you! I’m so glad the videos have been helpful. Yes a bronzer/contour video is coming as well!
Patrick Ta Foundation is stunning, but it doesn’t land in top 5 for me because the formulation, versatility, and ease of use are very important considerations for me. They must be choices that I would approve in my pro kit as an MUA, that would work for most clients. The foundation formulas in this video to me are just legendary and timeless! But I will be doing an updated top foundations video in the coming months because I have some new loves!
Just found your vid that is a goddess send... I am olive skin and it seems we are the same color, but I am a neutral/cool undertone - it seems that most of these foundations are for warm undertones. Any foundation that I use with a W -warm -looks orange on me. Would you consider covering that type of skin tone? Thank you!!
Yes it’s really tricky when you have an olive undertone. I have a more olive undertones and warm also tends to look slightly orange on me. As well olive undertones can fall under a cool olive range too. You will find though this depends on the brand. Some brands have certain W tones that are more balanced and less orange. Neutral/cool is tricky as well because most brands opt out of labeling neutral cool or neutral warms so you have to test samples on your own skin as even when a foundation has the correct shade label, sometimes it’s still not a match for me. The Armani, Dior Backstage, and Nars shades I listed have more balanced olive tones and are not orange. You could start there to check swatches in store. They’re most comparable to MAC’s NC30 which is a balanced medium olive I find. My recommendations are based on my skin tone range and what I’ve tried but I would love to do another video to break down more undertones in medium skin tones.
thank you so much for this!! i always struggle to find a foundation that works for my olive tone but this helps a lot
Oh I am so glad! I struggled with the same thing for a long time!

Interested to know what the Patrick Ta Foundation was lacking in your opinion? I love your complexion choices 💛💛

Hey what shade is the nars foundation you used here in your video?
This is the shade Valencia. I’m normally a Stromboli when I’m not tanned.
Try nyx medium olive born to glow because it looks like your Armani color
Oooh I think that foundation is discontinued at stores! I haven’t seen it in a while.

Your makeup is really good. But its only your brows.. they are done super light. If you could slightly make them dark. Its would look awsome
Hi, thank you for the comment. This is how light I like my brows on a day to day basis :) I will change it up for different makeup looks.
You're beautiful!! I see your location is Vancouver, I'm originally from Canada :)
Thank you! Yes I am Canadian ☺️
